Hi All,

As we all agreed to create a new thread today, here it is.

Hope you all have a good day. I have a shiny sink but not much else.

We're off out for the weekend so see you when I get back.

Hi Q.Yes all on freecycle is free!!!It can be great if you can pick items up.This is where i loose out cos i don't drive!
Good for getting rid of your own stuff too!!

Cookie recipe to follow.

tortoise · 24/09/2006 20:09

These are fab!

6oz(170g) Butter
3oz(85g)light brown sugar
3oz(85g)Caster sugar
1 large egg
Few drops vanilla extract
8oz(225g)self raising flour
4oz(100g) choc chips
100g melted choc for decoration.

Pre-heat oven to gas mark 4/180C
In a bowl cream together the butter and sugars, add the egg and combine well.
Stir in the flour, vanilla extract and choc chips and mix well.
Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
Divide the mixture into 10 using dessert spoons and slightly flatten out leaving space for them to spread.
Bake for 10-12 mins.
Allow to cool before putting on a wire rack to cool completely.
Using a dessert spoon drizzle the melted choc over them.

These are quite large cookies and very yummy!I have used all caster sugar if you have no brown.

Thanks tortoise. I have copies and pasted to a folder. hehe.

I have freecycle now, Like you tortoise I cant get bits. There is so much they folk will put on there. I bet there enough to fit a house out. I have got some bits from there. I dont let then come to me, I take bits to the park. Go there at home time from school then theres loads around. My sis had/done mine on her computer. I dont know how I can get on to freecycle again from mine.

tortoise · 24/09/2006 20:30

Goto freecycle website.should be able to find local group and join from there.I was going to do a link but no pages will load.Dont have a clue why not.

hazelnuts · 24/09/2006 20:51

Thanks I have loaded ok. I have had prblems with the net today, It went off at lunch time, took me over 30 minutes to log back in, Then MSN would not log in. Got my new yahoo address now. My sis done the other 1 for me under her address. Freecycle was on Radio two a few weeks ago. It went mad after that. lol

tortoise · 24/09/2006 20:59

I can't get any internet pages up apart from mn.
I can't work out why!

hazelnuts · 24/09/2006 21:06

Try shoting your browser down and then reopen it. It might be frozen. Has it been ok until now?

Skribble · 24/09/2006 21:07

Tortoise I am going to write that recipe into my journal,I got an A5 pukka pad and I have sections for routines, zones, food, finace, lists etc. Saw a nice simple recipe for tomatoe soup in a mag so I will cut and paste that to.

DLAMIS I picture you in your maids out-fit complete with feather duster .

So what differences has your new routines made to family life, I am thinking about all the people who say, lifes to short for cleaning or I would rather be spending time with my family. Well...
We can all have dinner together...as the table is cleared.
Easier to make family dinners...as I have actualy planned what to have.
Mornings less stressful with less shouting...as bags are ready and school clothes clean and laid out.
Kids make it to all activities and parties complete with all the kit.. as it is on the calander and I have had time to get presents or get together the clothes and kit they need.
KIds have nice clothes to wear.. as they are not lieing in a dirty heap in the bathroom.
I can have people round for a cuppa...as the living room looks welcoming rather than like a bombed laundry.
Guy can come in and read the meter...as it won't take 3 hrs to empty the cupboard the meter is in.
Bedroom looks romantic...as the surfaces are clear enough to put out candles without becoming an instant fire hazard.

What is different for you?

tortoise · 24/09/2006 21:08

I have re-started comp but still won't work.Seems odd that mn does.

Skribble · 24/09/2006 21:17

Ah the powers of MN, will it open a link posted on a MN thread?

hazelnuts · 24/09/2006 21:17

tortoise I dont know, I have just had to wait formy last post to been seen on my computer. It went really slow I am having trouble loading pages now. Maybe its just the net. I have only got MN to load at all now. tried e-mails and it wont load the page. Tiscali or yahoo

tortoise · 24/09/2006 21:18

One on a thread opened another on the same thread said internet explorer cannot display the webpage!

Skribble · 24/09/2006 21:19

Sometime cleaning out can help, no I don't mean 15mins with a feather duster, clearing out temporary files thing.

tortoise · 24/09/2006 21:19

I can get tiscali home page up.

tinshoes · 24/09/2006 21:26

Skribble · 24/09/2006 22:34

I am still here, I thought Dh had a nice romatic or funny DVD to watch but it is Van Helsen so I am on here. Went out for lunch earlier, then had crackers bread, cheese pate etc with the kids inbetween films they picked.

tortoise · 24/09/2006 22:37

nice choice for watching together.Do men have no idea?

Skribble · 24/09/2006 23:15

Not a f**king clue. The position of the computer means I have the TV less than 2 ft from my left ear. But hey it is blesting on surround sound anyway. I often have to ask him to turn down horrible stuff as I am sure the kids must hear it, even once they are alseep .

Skribble · 24/09/2006 23:17

Anyway I amlokking forward (did I just say that) to next week sorting out the living room I am going to invite MIL out for proper afternoon tea at the end of the week to show of, and to make sure I don't slack off.

I even found myself offering PIL our room at Christmas so they don't have to sleep out in the caravan. Last year I could never have done that.

tortoise · 24/09/2006 23:18

Grrr! How annoying!Yes dc may hear it.

You caught me with a cookie! If im sick tomorrow i only have myself to blame.
