Hi All,

As we all agreed to create a new thread today, here it is.

Hope you all have a good day. I have a shiny sink but not much else.

We're off out for the weekend so see you when I get back.

Well today is meant to be family day in our house and dh has buggered off to watch football

On a happier note, my fireplace is nearly finished and my new carpet comes on monday - I am sooooooooooooo excited.

hazelnuts · 23/09/2006 16:36

I am just wondering round the house try to do bits. The silly little things. Like cleaning light switches. How do they get so dirty. Its only DS1 and me that can reach them. I am always washing my hands and DS1 does not really go out to get really dirty hands and he is very good at washing his hands.{HN has puzzled look}

Q whats wrong with your internet?

hazelnuts · 23/09/2006 16:39

Chloe55 I hate football. Life seems to have to be round football all the time.

Glad your fireplace is nearly done. Have you got a lovely soft carpet coming to go in there? Will look lovely and cosy when its finished.

Quootiepie · 23/09/2006 17:07

damn internet!!!! Keeps disconnecting. AOL is blaming BT! Just rung DH, he isnt at work (left at 1) but at MILs! Didnt bother to tell me! They are coming to pick me up now (so have to crash clean house) At least the bathroom and now kitchen are sparkly!

Quootiepie · 23/09/2006 17:13

damnit damnit

Quootiepie · 23/09/2006 17:13

oooh, my posts are appearing!

Quootiepie · 23/09/2006 17:14

Might get cut off again though... better go clean some more...

hazelnuts · 23/09/2006 17:19

Q I was told that its down to how many people are using the net that makes it crash/slow speeds/ page cant be found. Its not really down to BT. But there has to be much more upgrading. All net works need to be helping with this instead of blaming BT. If it was not for phone lines we could not have the net. Just think how it would look if all net works had the own lines to each house that used there net work. You could times the wires we have now by over 15!! Or we could only have just one net work we could use and then the post code thingy would be around.

ParanoidAndroid · 23/09/2006 18:58

Hello hello hello

Have had a fab day flying in the garden (not sure if it's one of Kelly's missions, but hey, I'm all for living dangerously). I did clear the guinea pig out which is a hotspot (thanks to DC who obviously have forgotten the fact that he is THEIR guinea pig).

I did manage to make beds this morning, and shined sink (just forgot to S&S - sorry)

DH recovered from big grump whilst trying to fix his bike. Have told DH that I don't like his big grumps, that they make everyone miserable, and that he needs to grow up. THAT went down well I can tell you.

Still he's now cooking us all supper (hooray) and I'm going to watch TV with the kids while he does it. Of course, the only downside to him cooking is that he uses every blooming utensil in the kitchen, and can't possibly tidy up after himself. Oh well.

Have a good evening - even though some of you have not had such good days - big hugs HN. Good luck Ruby - sounds like you need it

asleep · 23/09/2006 20:08

hi all
i got the ultimate test today. MIL (and FIL) came over so i was dead nervous about the state of the house. but it sparkled and the only thing that i was a bit embarrassed about was the garden, which is DP's job to maintain and he just neglects it. the visit was lovely. i even gave them back some stuff that we'd borrowed from them and i had found again while decluttering!
am now going to relax with DP on the sofa and watch a film

tortoise · 23/09/2006 21:56

Quiet in here tonight!

All busy having a life!

BarefootJasnem · 23/09/2006 21:59

Family here for belated birthday celebration - dinner in a "posh" restaurant at dd2s request (she will be 6 on Monday.
Lovely time had by all, even dp came and didn't drink too much/did take turns looking after baby

I did 15 mins in each room whil;e dd1 was at Brownie day this am, and whole house was presentable. Cays like today make it worth while

ruby, I'm becoming the queen of bleach, so you are not alone (though I am using vinegar, too, on the shower screen.)

Skribble · 23/09/2006 22:46

Evening all, Quootie perhaps your bed gave way becuase all the junk had been holding it up . Hope it is fixable.

I was working today so nothing special done, put all the school clothes in for a wash, the half of the kitchen that has been clreared is still clear, emptied dishwasher, bathroom clean and tidy.

Sorted out a huge K2 pile of socks, Evrest is still upstairs. I even emptied and sorted out the bags I get back from MIL after she has the kids, usually they lie for days even weeks. So all the clothes from their weekend away foled and ready for kids to put away.

I haven't looked at the babysteps bit for today yet , but I will. Need to make sure I am doing 2 min hot spot, 5 min room rescue and 15 min in zone, FGS its not even half an hour in total. I will get on with that next week.

I am starting to really see the difference, after doing the living room for a week I will be dragging people in for a cuppa rather than hiding behind the door pretending I am not in.

Skribble · 23/09/2006 22:50

Hot spot alert is to chuck out all your old holey towels. I started doing that this week and cut up some with dodgy rust stains (don't look good on the line ) and put in a rag bag, kept a few whole for spillage towels. So when DD drops a whole bottle of coke or the washing machine leaks then I don't ruin my decent towels. Treated house to 2 new towels, bogof deal.

dolally · 23/09/2006 23:14

Have been dying to tell someone: I have done a MEAL PLAN FOR THIS WEEK! It's on the fridge and I keep looking at it to remind myself what to do next. I feel SOOOOO COOL! Have never done one before... it all seemed like more work than just looking in the fridge every evening and saying Oh god what shall we have for dinner.

HOWEVER...having actually done it I think it could work... will let you know!

Skribble · 23/09/2006 23:18

Don't know if a meal plan will work for me as I never know if we are eating at home or MIL's and I don't know if Dh will be in or not. I might get food in for say 3 or 4 meals though and be flexible with days. haven't got that far yet on day 14 of babysteps (jumped a few days).

Been working out my laundry days Mon- catch up from the weekend, Tue do bedding, rest of the week a load a day and sat or sun do school stuff.

tortoise · 23/09/2006 23:26

I'd like to do a meal plan.Might stop me over spending on shopping! Not sure where to start though.Did a Tesco shop on-line Friday but just bought lots of frozen stuff to chuck in the freezer.I look every night and still don't know what to have!
