tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 08/09/2006 13:48

My new wheelie bin and food bins have just arrived!
Now i need to find somewhere for the small food bin to go!

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 08/09/2006 14:18

ironing done and cupboard under sink wiped out, so i am free for the rest of the afternoon..might do some decluttering.........if I can be bothered!

boomie · 08/09/2006 14:25

Had a good day today - swished and swiped this morning, shined sink, dishwasher on, washing machine on (still no shoes though).

Also started my control journal after lunch which is helping me get my head around routines etc.

Just spent 1 hour (was meant to be 15 minutes but got carried away) de-cluttering bathroom cabinet, bedside table and putting away washing (DD1 helping bless her, DD2 napping aaahhh).

I have to say although I've only been doing it a few days, it does seem to be working for me. The house looks more organised and I feel more organised. The support from all the MNs has really helped too. It's ace to know that we're all going through it together.

Just a Q though, when should I be cleaning things like the bath/ shower/ skirting boards etc. Also should I be hoovering a bit each day? How do I fit my zone cleaning in? I'm still very new to it all - any help please??

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 08/09/2006 14:32

Washing in,next load out.
Only problam with that is that i now have another pile of washing to put away!!

Off to get boys from school now.Back later tonight.
DS1 has a fancy dress party to go to.

mummy2ashton · 08/09/2006 15:35

Boomie - we are in the bathroom zone next week so apart from swish and swipe wait til Monday.

Zones repeat monthly :-
beginning of month - hall, porch, dining room
1st whole week - kitchen
2nd whole week - bathroom plus one other (eg kids rooms)
3rd whole week - master bedroom
rest of month - lounge

You can find detailed cleaning lists on the website for each zone.

On Monday we do home blessing to give whole house a quick once over.

Each day we swish and swipe and 15min on hotspots or decluttering.

You need to build up slowly; I am on my 5th week and still not doing all the detailed cleaning list, just doing the missions and a few jobs from the list.

I know what you all mean about having to be told to do stuff. We all know it needs doing but how many times do we look at something and think I need to do that and then just leave it, yet when FL says it we do it!

Hmmmm I wonder if they do one for men/diy things etc

Having a good day today.
Lots of washing done
Dishwasher sorted
Kitchen floorhoovered and mopped.
Cupboards don't need doing as we had a big sort out when we moved house and have done really well keeping on top of them anyway,so quite chuffed about that

but....

fridge still needs finishing from the other day....only got half way

boomie · 08/09/2006 16:54

Thanks ShazRonnie it's all starting to click into place now

BarefootJasnem · 08/09/2006 17:20

Flame - I've just had a FL email about following the recipethat is alot like your post this morning

singersgirl · 08/09/2006 18:41

I did the under sink cupboard today and obviously haven't looked in it for a long time. I had 5 (FIVE!) bottles of dishwasher rinsaid, 3 bottles of Harpic, 3 bottles of wood floor cleaner and 5 bottles of carpet stain remover. As well as 20 disposable vinyl gloves!

Well, at least I know what I can take off my shopping list!

Beeper going for shepherd's pie. Late tea for boys after karate tonight.

Happy sink shining!

singersgirl · 08/09/2006 18:41

Well, actually 40 disposable vinyl gloves coz there are 20 pairs!

Hi all, I have cleaned the kitchen, decluttered the living room and done under the sink cupboard today. Hurrah!

mummy2ashton · 08/09/2006 19:23

sounds like everyone is doing really well today! i am just about to show dp my control journal, but i fear he may back away slowly and sleep with a knife under the pillow or something now! lol

who else has a control journal??

SusiS · 08/09/2006 21:45

evening!
i'll be having a journal soon - BUT after our holiday which starts tomorrow
we are off to dorset 'hooraaaay'

aaaanyways, not much cleaning done but i managed to get kids clothes ready + raingear + toys
so tomorrow i 'only' have to get all the other things together + cook lunch + make a last minute clean up and lock the door from the outside

re having to be told: i think it's because fl puts it into manageable tasks; if i'd do it on my own i'd see the whole picture and give up before i even started!

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 08/09/2006 22:12

Evening all.
Finally I have 4 dc in bed and time for a little me time!
DS1 enjoyed the fancydress party he went to and it gave some one to one time with DS2 once the dd's were in bed.
Sofa is covered in clean washing
Tomorrows job has to be putting washing away!

BarefootJasnem · 08/09/2006 22:21

But you've got a good excuse. You can't do it when the kids are asleep in their rooms. I need to do something with my excess of baby clothes but can't just now as he is asleep in my room.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 09/09/2006 00:13

FLYers have been quiet tonight!I hadn't realised how late it was! Will the FLY one tell me off?
Night FLYers.

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 09/09/2006 08:17

Morning all!

I woke up at 4:30 am and realised a toddler had snuck into bed with me.

Then I felt a warm wet sensation...

So now I am off to finish sponging the mattress. At least i will be ahead of the Monday bed change blessing.

sorkycake · 09/09/2006 08:51

Baby kicking crap outta me at 7.30am, how inconsiderate, I was having a lovely dream as well. Now other two are up so must do breakfast soon.
Shazronnie I can't believe you found me out (other thread)! ok..ok..I admit I am quite organised...I admit to no more than that...and you can't prove anything more! heehee!

tamsino · 09/09/2006 08:54

Morning all. Looks like the kiddies have been getting us all up!

I have a nice shiny sink. DH is learning to put things straight in the dishwasher and bypass the sink altogether :-)

Have a good day all.

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2006 08:57

Nice wakeup call!

I had Psychomum's DS2 overnight, and he is a great morning person for DD - she woke him at 7am (nice foghorn "JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPOB!!!!"), then I heard "I go find Mummy"... and the star child piped up "They're still asleeeeeeeeeeep" and they played (noisily, but away from me) for an hour. Only came out when they heard me n DH trying to sneak downstairs!!!

Most of the day is being dedicated to pirate costumes.

SusiS · 09/09/2006 09:02
