New thread for a new zone, morning all

lets all do profiles

I have been married 6 years, I have 2 dd's, one is 6 and the other is 16 months and a dd or ds on the way!
I have always been domestically challenged and I think Flylady has the answer.
I have known about flylady for about 2 years but never really got going, I hope that doing it together will change that.
Good Luck to all on a fresh zone

Do you get loads of good offers with Tesco points?
I always opt for money off my shopping but I know they're 'worth' more in vouchers.

What sort of stuff can you get?

Quootiepie · 17/08/2006 20:25

im invisible now... MIL took DS of DH without asking, took him outside and he passed from pillar to post round people who blanked me... thats just 1 thing.

tortoise · 17/08/2006 20:29

Must of been awful for you.

Quootiepie · 17/08/2006 20:31

she just took him and it was all "look what he does, look at this, he does this that and the other", while I sat inside (they were all outside)

Quootiepie · 17/08/2006 20:32

kissing him and that... when she left me to bleed to death last year.

tortoise · 17/08/2006 20:40

How did you manage to stay there? I think i'd of taken ds and walked out!

Quootiepie · 17/08/2006 20:42

im too shy, too polite. Im leaving DH now.

tortoise · 17/08/2006 20:42

Sorry? What do you mean your leaving DH now?

Quootiepie · 17/08/2006 20:43

tortoise · 17/08/2006 20:46

Hi can I be a late joiner. I need to do something before dh comes home from work and finds me helpless, squashed under a pile of clutter and unironed washing.

I'm 35, married 10 years, 1 ds of 10months and have lived in organised chaos for even longer. We have just moved into a nice new house and are currently failing miserably to keep it looking nice.

I know how great it feels when a room has been sorted and cleaned but I never seem to be able to get started without a big kick up the bum so hopefully this will work :D

shazronnie · 17/08/2006 21:13

oh dear; lots of serious stuff going on

had my parents in law over today, so only basic flying was acheived - ie sink still shiny! And MIL didn't make any negative comments about the tidiness of the house so I am taking that as a postive impression!

shazronnie · 17/08/2006 21:14

welcome D; we are all trying to acheive the same here so hop aboard

tortoise · 17/08/2006 21:23

Welcome DontlookatmeImshy.Start by looking at the shine your sink item on the FLY ladys web site.(link at the start)

Hi shaz.Glad your sink still got shined!

popsycal · 17/08/2006 21:27

sink shiny
trying to get into laundry habit (tumble drier broke at the minute and dreadful hanging out weather so not the best)
being very good with dishwasher etc
done some 'hot spot' tidying
cleaned bathroom

tomorrow i am going to do 15 minutes in the worst room (master bedroom) - we have just moved the boys bedrooms so they each have a room so all the junk is now in our room waiting for sorting.......15 minutes everyday for a week...

DontlookatmeImshy · 17/08/2006 21:27

ok, but I think I'll wait till tomorrow to do it ;)

tortoise · 17/08/2006 21:29

Not the best weather for drying is it! I managed to get some washing dry today.I don't like tumble drying too much plus lots of things say do not tumble dry.
Dishwasher has to be my biggest achievement.

tortoise · 17/08/2006 21:31

I might find time to do a little bit in my room tomorrow.
Worried there may be big spiders lurking under the junk though.

hello all have been following your progress from work PC but scared to postdue to monitoring etc. I have bough the FLY lady book coz I am not really supposed to be online at work. Last night i cleaned and shined sink and cleaned loo - with a toothbrush under the rim - YUCK. also used lime light and it worked wonders. Re loo DH asked what I was doing I explained that I thought the loo was smelly, fully expecting him to say no its coz you are super sensitive due to being pg: instead he said yes it is I wondered why. How gross that everyone probably thinks we have stinky loo - I thought i was the only one smelling it. But all the gunk is gone - I think the prob is that I use those toilet duck disposable brushes and they are hard to get under the rim. Realise this is way too much info for a first post on the thread, but there you are. PS I got the book on amazon, and there was deal that meant i got the cookery book that supposedly goes with FLY lady for £14 total (ie for the pair) so I thpought that was good. the recipes are all US but I have a set of "cups" to measure with so should be ok. good luck all.
