Are Jo Malone candles overpriced and quick way to drain my bank account?

I've found a shop but it looks sooooo expensive. I'd have to save for a candle, but is it worth it?

£38 for a candle? ::faints::

BulletProofMum · 15/08/2012 21:27

Yep- overpriced and not worth it

LadySybildeChocolate · 15/08/2012 21:27

I thought Yankee Candle was expensive!! Shock

I gather burning bank notes gives a delightful scent as well Grin

Tee2072 · 15/08/2012 21:29

At least Yankee Candles are big.

And I also agree with Pacific. Hate smelly houses!

motherinferior · 15/08/2012 21:29

They are nice (I had some mini-freebies once) but there are other nice ranges - True Grace is rather fab, and cheaper.

LadySybildeChocolate · 15/08/2012 21:30

Grin Ok, so the new plan is to save the £38 I 'would' have spent on a candle, and spend it on chocolate and wine instead. Good plan?

LadySybildeChocolate · 15/08/2012 21:31

You can get freebies? Hmm. Grin

Excellent plan LadyS!

woopsidaisy · 15/08/2012 21:32

Max Benjamin candles are lovely too!

MoonlightandRoses · 15/08/2012 21:33

These aren't much cheaper, but they are much, much, nicer.

PacificDogwood · 15/08/2012 21:34

Red Wine left to breaths gives a rather lovely aroma, IMVHO - go for it!

Lucyellensmum99 · 15/08/2012 21:34

Yay, i finally get to say it - This is a first world problem if ever i saw one!

Tee2072 · 15/08/2012 21:34

iafc?

PacificDogwood · 15/08/2012 21:34

breathe

PorkyandBess · 15/08/2012 21:34

They are worth it, imo. I have my lime, basil & mandarin burning now and it smells divine.

Make the whole house* smell gorgeous, even the next day. I loathe and detest air fresheners, btw.

(*Slight exaggeration, but the ground floor, anyway.)

LadySybildeChocolate · 15/08/2012 21:35

They are around half the price, Moonlight. Wink

Thank you all, I shall have to look around. Wine

'First world problem?' Confused

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 15/08/2012 21:36

Wait wait...some Jo Malone Candles are £260?!?!??!??! ::faints again::

For that price, it had better light itself!

LadySybildeChocolate · 15/08/2012 21:37

Yup. I won't be buying one of those.

Tee2072 · 15/08/2012 21:37

Thanks Pacific. And Hmm.

PacificDogwood · 15/08/2012 21:38

'First world problem' = only if not having to worry about starving to death, likely to be a concern
