Ha ha! I have got over myself. Blush

AdoraBell · 22/07/2012 03:46

Collected DDs just after 1, they were unusually subdued, and drove into to town for errands/lunch. DDs fell asleep within 5 minutes of setting off. Apparently they "went to bed" at 10 last night, but went to sleep at 6 am(DD2) and 8am(DD2 and birthday girl). They still managed I say up 'till 10 pm tonight waiting to get a cuddle with daddy.

I am shattered. We walked the dogs this morning, OH became breathless halfway so we turned back, I'm sure I caught a look of disgust on the Teddy Bear's face- he enjoys his 7km stroll.

Another well done to TS. We cleared out our recycling today, no recycling bins here we have to take it to the recycling centreShock, but they've been putting in shiny new ones, so the SIL's old toot books have gone and out-grown clothes of the DDs too.

OH has found someone to take some excess furniture off our hands and I've just removed most of the ornaments fom the lounge. Tomorrow we're clearing out big old desks to make way for sleek smaller desks - arriving midweek.

Carrots we've just cracked open a fresh bottle ( hope you don't mind chardonnay) so you don't need to go round nicking Wine off Bessie, you can this half bottleWine Wine, hic-up!

Good luck with the packing Cats

carrotsandcelery · 22/07/2012 09:56

You are getting loads done adora. I hope the girls manage to sleep on this morning and make up some sleep.
Thanks for the Wine Grin
We are having trouble with ds. He is getting up too early and showing all his heightened anxiety signs again. We have banned everything except books, audio books or drawing until an adult is up. I fear we may have to go back to the hospital's complicated system again. Even they gave up trying to get him to sleep longer but it might lead to better quality sleep.
Its ruining the day for him and i couldnt have someone over as he is so anxious again. He is supposed to see a friend on wednesday so i need a quck result.

Scout19075 · 22/07/2012 11:00

MrScout just took Toddler to the café so I can have my hour (or more) of Sunday peace. I had bottles by the door and Toddler, again, said "Bottle! Bottle out bin!" MrScout said something about "do you want to take the bottle out?" and I said "That's Toddler's job -- Chief Bottle Carrier to the Bin. He knows which bin they go in, just open the lid for him and let him do it." YAY Toddler!

I have been rockin' the decluttering/flinging today. Not that you can see the results but I know I've done it.

Off to get dressed and take out all of the rubbish and recycling.

Hi all, Just popping in briefly --before I get dressed-- Blush

Scout Well done on the decluttering! I have also been trying to do some paperwork/clothes decluttering recently.

Carrots Sad you having trouble with your DC.

I have a feeling of CBA this morning but I NEED to get myself going. --I would like to sit in house all day and do sod all I need to get dressed, sort a picnic, hang out washing, do some more washing at some point,go to recycle bins and go out and have fun Hmm not at the recycling bins . Think about packing finding that one hard--
Feel a bit like I have a 101 things whizzing round in my head so I think a picnic/getting out of the house might be a good thing! Hmm Tries to convince self!

carrotsandcelery · 22/07/2012 17:06

Sorry I have been so quiet today. I have been a bit tearful Sad Dh commented about how grumpy I am. I told him how grumpy he was too, which he is, but he was right. I am a right grump. Sad

I am also worried that dd is turning out to not be a very nice wee girl. She is polite and good in public etc but I worried she is not basically kind. There are a lot of people on dh's side of the family who aren't kind, who always put themselves first etc. I suppose I am scared it is genetic in some way and that she will be the same.

I could cope with so many other traits but not that one.

How do you teach kindness?

I am generally a kind person. One of the things that attracted dh to me was that trait in me. I have my hiccups, like everyone, but generally I try to think of others too. I thought she would learn by example.

Sorry folks. I am a bit down in the dumps Sad

CatsInChaos · 22/07/2012 19:15

--or would a Crabbies be better-- Wink

I a feeling tired now! We had a fairly good day out of the house so that means I will need to knuckle down and do washing/drying/packing over the next couple of days. We went for a picnic but DD wanted the playground first so threw a toddler tantrum for the first 5 minutes. Then we went to playground so the kids could --burn off some energy-- enjoy themselves. Went to see DM after that for the rest of the afternoon. Now trying to chill before bath and bedtime.

bessie26 · 22/07/2012 20:02

carrots sorry to hear DS's sleeping has gone backwards a bit & DD's being a PITA. Do remember that you have all been completely thrown out of your usual (school) routine straight into the stress strangeness of holidays & are probably now ALL struggling to find what the new normal is. And that you are very, very tired, which means everything is going to seem much, much worse that it really is.

I have spent most of the day at the spa (I bought my friend a voucher for her birthday & of course I had to accompany her), and had a back/neck/shoulder massage so I am feeling much more relaxed. The sun is out here too, which helps Grin

Must go do the online shop now

bessie26 · 22/07/2012 20:06

are you watching countryfile? eco-olympic ideas for kids on right now

CatsInChaos · 23/07/2012 05:04

Morning all, Hope you are all o.k. it was very quiet on here yesterday.

I went to bed early cause I was very tired. The downside to that though is I woke up at around 4 this morning. Hmm
I have been busy writing a list of things I need to do but I won't bore you all with the details as I probably won't get a lot of time to update what I get done on here.

The forecast for weather up here is not that great but hey ho! We are heading south soon so it will be too hot!! Grin I would like it somewhere between the two extremes! I don't like it windy and rainy but neither do I like it too hot! The temp where we are heading is forecast to be around 25'c and I'm more used to temperatures between 11'c t0 22'c where we live --that's our normal hot summer weather-- Grin

carrotsandcelery · 23/07/2012 07:48

Morning cats. I have the same problem with sleep. If i go earlier i struggle to drop off and wake earlier. I think i got about six hours last night and feel much brighter for it. The kids are both dressed and ready which has also made me feel better. I saw dd decide to contain a tantrum/defence/argument last night too which made me hope she has got some of the message (however briefly)
She is riding her loan pony again this morning. The owner is going to bring in a tiny shetland for ds to groom and cuddle which will hopefully be fun.
Then we have to pitch a tent because dd starts pony camp tomorrow.
When do you leave cats?
I like in between weather too. 18c is perfect for me. I hope you enjoy yourselves x x

CatsInChaos · 23/07/2012 11:48

I have PM you Carrots Wink

CatsInChaos · 23/07/2012 11:53

Today is kind of a day for getting last minute washing/drying done. boring
The weather here looks quite cloudy.

Scout19075 · 23/07/2012 16:49

Day two of spring like weather -- we are spoiled.

liveinazoo · 23/07/2012 18:46

hi everyone
cats you are going away?hope you have a lovely timeSmile

we are finally on teh mend altough tiring much faster than usual

yesterday we went out for a stroll in the sushine.wsa lovely to feel it warm on my face and perked me up a bit

dd2 has been a little herbert, not sleeping well and getting everyone upat silly oclock
this morning it was ridiculous and afte she had a 3rd meltdown before 7am i cracked and sent to room,at which point she began screaming top lungs

i seriously lost it and declared the penance was appropraite and she would spend the morning flying with me...so at 6.45 i went out and trimmed th hedge and she gathered the clippings and put into the recycling bin as it was due to b collected today

after breakfast she had tohelp me do a home blessing and it took ages with her helping but by 12oclock we had blitzed the whole hpouse and she calmed down, realizing mum wasnt to be trifled with!

they had playmobile out for a bit then dd1 took them to the ark while i went for cbt

they were all red faced and gumpy when i got back so we had a cold tea-wraps with raw baby spinach, chickpeas and sweetcorn with tomato salsa.yum yum!

i put little ones up at 6.30,dd2 is very grumpy and silly so shes off to bed now,so im guna try and relax and enjoy my tidy front roomGrin

hope you all had a good day!

carrotsandcelery · 23/07/2012 19:14

Sounds like fantastic progress zoo on house and on dd2 Grin

I am much more myself today and have had a good day.

Dd was riding again this morning and had a ball. The friend she rides with is a total star: friendly, polite, includes ds in their games, kind, gentle etc and she gave her mum a bit of attitude today. I am not glad she did it but it made me realise that most girls are probably a bit tricky at this age (as you all said).

Dd is trying really hard to be good. I think that is all I can ask right now.

A little perspective is hard to gain when you are in the thick of things.

I did add new pegs to the options though saying, "Do something kind" Grin

Scout19075 · 23/07/2012 19:35

I found myself having an ADD sort of day where my focus was non-existent. Toddler and I did, however, go and feed the ducks. To me that was more important than sorting out the house today.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 24/07/2012 07:25

Five o'clock is a silly hour to be woken up.

OP posts:
liveinazoo · 24/07/2012 08:22

sadly scout i can agree as we were up at 5.30!

today i have started the 30 day shred dvd.my arms are not very strong at all and are now hanging like dead weights but the rest of me coped with it ok.maybe im not so unfit as i thought!

i have scrubbed all my surfaces in the kitchen and we are ready to go out now as dd2 has a tendancy to crisp in the sun we try and get out early when the weather theatens to be very hot!

dp s meant to be coming today and we are hoping to go strawberry picking in a local village

dd2 is in fight mode again today and we are already at meltdown no.2

i suspect this will be a common theme for the duration of the holidays and i will just have to rit my teeth and try to manage her a best i can rant on here when she drives me to the edge

i will have to go shes threatening to give ds "a wholloping"Sad

i will pop back later if i get a chance

hope you all have a good day!

Scout19075 · 24/07/2012 08:42

We have a playground/ducks/picnic playdate with Toddler's BFF this morning. I'm hoping and praying the combination of outside/fresh air/sunshine/running around like a nut will cause Toddler to nap, even if just a few minutes, or it's going to be a VERY LONG day.

carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 08:51

Morning all!

The sun is shining here as well. Dd is off to pony camp so I am glad it is decent weather for them. We pitched the tent last night so I am interested to see if it is still standing. Eeeek!

I am not sure what dh and I will do with ds. He seems quite underslept and cranky.

Scout19075 · 24/07/2012 09:56

Seems to be the day of non-sleepers. My FB is riddled with people complaining about the time their kids got up.

carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 10:33

Is it the early sunshine?

CatsInChaos · 24/07/2012 12:07

Hi all, I've had a busy morning sorting and decluttering my bedroom. My arm is hurting now though so I had better try to rest it as much as I can for the rest of today. --that will be hard though I have packing to do still! last minute packer here--

carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 12:24

I'm impressed by all your decluttering lately Cats. It must feel good (despite the sore arm). Good luck with the packing.
