It does feel good carrots Grin I think I am on the road to recovery !!!!
I have decided to get rid of some things that I couldn't get rid of not long ago so things must have changed for the better!
--despite all my other health problems--

My bedroom looks loads better. It does help having DH off work though (2 weeks holiday) as he helps look after the DC while I do jobs and I look after the DC while he does what he wants to. He is having to help out quite a lot at the mo though because I have been having trouble with my arm. Just hope I will be o.k. for driving!

carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 13:39

Can you both drive Cats? If so I suggest you do the motorway bits and he does the twisty road bit. I am sure you have thought of that already though.

You are gradually sounding brighter and brighter in your posts. It is great to "see" from this end. It shows that being brave and confronting things leads to a solution. Well done Cats.

Scout19075 · 24/07/2012 14:14

I have a napping boy who I'm going to get up in a few minutes so he'll go to bed tonight. But despite his protests of not needing a nap he promptly fell asleep. YAY!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 16:02

Success Scout. Yay!

CatsInChaos · 24/07/2012 17:02

Well done Scout on Toddlers nap. Smile

I am just getting dinner done here. Hope I can get enough sleep tonight!!

Carrots DH can't drive so it's down to me. I will hopefully be o.k. though as it's mainly your left arm you need for driving (changing gears etc) It's only achey really, nothing too bad Hmm. It's mainly problems with lifting anything heavy so must be like a muscle strain.

AdoraBell · 24/07/2012 19:02

Cat hope you have a nice holiday, and I agree with Carrots you do appear to be getting better judging by our posts. Well done Thanks

I'm having a mediocre day here, tons of laundry done, a bit of light housework, a spot of TV and a bubble bath. One of the puppies (Floppy) is at the vet's, he either has a nasty worm or a nasty virus, poor thing. Decluttering is going like a storm, I just have to remember not to chuck out everything, ha ha.

Chap's coming in to measure for a new carpet soon, the house won't sell with our current choice, then it's off to school and shopping for school shoes for DD2. Shoes that were fine two weeks ago no longer fit.

bessie26 · 24/07/2012 20:53

Well done on the Shred zoo! I think my upper body strength is better since I had the (heavy) DC than before, but my arms still ached the first few times I did it!

Glad you are feeling better cats & hope you have a good holiday.

fx TS has a good sleep tonight too scout - DD2 seems to be getting into a 6am start routine

I have done all my chores. I have left the washing up & dishwasher full of clean crockery for DH to deal with when he gets home from golf Grin

carrotsandcelery · 24/07/2012 23:00

Cats I hope you have a velcro support or a tubi grip from the doc to support it for the journey. Can you take ibuprofen (always after food) as that will keep swelling at bay. I hope you have a safe and stress free journey and, as it sounds like you do, take plenty breaks.

HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY!

We are hoping to take ds and one of his friends to a lovely country park near us for a picnic tomorrow. He doesn't know yet so I expect him to explode with excitement tomorrow. Grin

I will be up and picnic making and packing first thing, starting with a little shopping trip I suspect.

CatsInChaos · 25/07/2012 06:21

Thanks all for your kind wishes. Smile

Carrots The picnic sounds lovely! DS is very excited here about our hols. He was finding it hard to go to sleep last night. Grin

I must go as I have lots to do.

Scout19075 · 25/07/2012 09:01

Have a great holiday, Cats!

I woke up around 4:30 this morning to find Toddler sound asleep in my bed, curled up next to me. Goodness knows how long he had been there but at that point I just left him, knowing that if I tried to move him he'd wake and think it was the start to the day. As it was he let me sleep until 6:15/6:30. He went down easily last night, if just a touch later than normal (my decision, not his).

We might go to the country park not far from us for a bit of duck feeding/playground playing/picnic eating then head off to a Ye Ol' Market Village not too far from us to raid their kitchen shop and, more importantly, their craft shop. Haven't decided about the country park, though. Asked several friends the other day if they'd like to meet up there but no one seems able to and, it sounds selfish, but that park isn't as much fun when it's just Toddler and I. It's a big park with a good playground but it's one we usually go to with his big friends who play with him on all of the big kids equipment and he gets to explore the park/woods with them. Mom "cramps his style" when we're there, if you know what I mean.

Different bin crew today -- this one not friendly and definitely not appreciative of a Small Boy's awe. Such a shame because bin collection is the high light of Toddler's Wednesday morning every week (partly, I'm sure, because the normal crew is so friendly to him).

OP posts:
liveinazoo · 25/07/2012 12:13

we have similiar issues with a surly new crew scout

they were the zoolets high light when we had the old ones.it not like binmen are overwhelmed with good wishes is it?

zoolets were again up at ridiculous oclock so we all did shred dvd together at 6.30Shock

its very hot here so we are staying in despite the sunshine as dd2 crisps so quickly i dubt we shall be able to stop her burningSad

we ahve spent the morning "playing schools" i an shocked about ds letter formation and dd2 is struggling to jion letters as she also has incorrect formation.something to work on!little zoo is finding it easier as she has not already formed bad habits and has been enjoying witing her name and practising her lettersGrin

we have also done individual and group reading

this afternoon the playmobile holiday home and campervan asre coming out so i can have a break from the one to one time and watch them play

i have put 2nd load of much loved soft toys in the machine.i have a full line teddies, horses, giraffes, dinosaurs and piggies swinging in the light breeze by their ears!Grinits so hot i expect tehm tobe dry before the next lot are ready to go out

hope wherever you are and whatever you are doing its fun!

carrotsandcelery · 25/07/2012 14:31

Hello everyone.

I remember the waving to the binmen era. For a while one of our recycling men was an ex pupil of mine and he used to get them all waving to ds. Ours usually have a friendly one on board. Grin How sad that it doesn't lighten their day Scout.

We have been for our picnic but ds's friend just couldn't settle so we have come home already. Sad He seems very happy now they are back at the house though and they are having fun. Grin

Scout19075 · 25/07/2012 21:12

I took Toddler to the country park, just the two of us. I talked to random mums, though, and Toddler "played with" a couple of other toddlers & pre-schoolers. We got through an entire loaf of bread (when I know/think we're going to feed ducks I get in loaves of cheap bread to take with us), saw/fed ducklings of various ages and saw/fed a swan couple and their six signets. Toddler was in heaven. We also went to the Market Town. He was not so easy to put down tonight.

Anyone around for a glass of Wine?

Hi Scout. Sorry I missed your post.

I am glad you had a good time at the park. I am going to try to picnic again with ds and a more outdoorsy friend. Ds would have stayed and would have enjoyed it if he had someone with him who was keen.

I am shattered and just off to bed. Dd will be home tomorrow. I am missing her like crazy and desperate to hear how it all went. She will be dirty, tired and grumpy though, I do know.

AdoraBell · 26/07/2012 02:49

Scout glad you and Toddler had a nice time at the park.

Carrots hope DD isn't too bad when she gets back - I think she's about the same age as mine (11 in a few weeks) and boy can they strop, in fact if it were an Olympic sport DD1 would get gold.

Floppy is back home, it looks like he's eaten something that got the better of him but he is visibly improved. I have to get liquid antibiotic past his jaws twice a day, not very easy, and he has a can of food to build him up whilst I feed him on chicken and rice again. He's currently snoozing in the kitchen while the rice cools down. I have no doubt he will leap into action as soon it hits his bowl.

I'm sitting in the kitchen looking at four loads worth of clean laundry and thinking I just CBA, it's 10 pm and I have packed lunches to pack. I need to be home all day tomorrow for various people coming to do various things so I'll sort things then.

Right, the kettle calls and I feel compelled to answerGrin, adios amigas

Scout19075 · 26/07/2012 08:15

Toddler crawling into my bed and snuggling next to me asleep without me waking is becoming a nightly thing. Blush Is it a phase? Will he go back to sleeping through and/or staying in his own bed? I'm sure a large portion of the time he's sleep walking but I'm a bit worried that I'm not waking up (which makes me think he must not be awake because I wake up/can't fall back to sleep when I know he's awake).

carrotsandcelery · 26/07/2012 08:56

Morning all! It is sunny and beautiful again here today.

Guess what?

Guess when ds came down from his bed this morning?

8.07! YUP! 8.07! He woke up before that but lay in his bed and listened to a story cd until he heard us stirring.

Grin Grin Grin

Scout19075 · 26/07/2012 09:28

YAY for LittleCarrots!

OP posts:
AdoraBell · 26/07/2012 14:48

Oh, we'll done to DS Carrots what a star.

Scout hopefully Toddler will grow out of it, although if he is sleepwalking it may take some time. Don't want to worry you or anything, but my OH still sleepwalks.

Scout19075 · 26/07/2012 20:48

Yes, my sister slept walked for years. I foresee us keeping up the stair gate for quite a long time (my sister used to climb down from the upper bunk, go down the stairs and then stand there mumbling. We'd just tell her to go back to bed, she'd "think" about it for a minute then go back to bed -- and never remember it in the morning.

Had a very long, but lovely, day out. I'm exhausted.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 26/07/2012 21:25

Yay for DS carrots - did he get a HUGE reward for doing that?

DD2 had to be woken up at 7am, after her waking around 6am for the last week or so Hmm - I keep expecting her to break out in spots as everyone at nursery/pre-school has chicken pox (DD1 has already had it), but nothing yet....

If he is sleepwalking scout I guess there's not much you can do about it? [clueless] - Have you tried bribery incentivising staying in bed? Have you seen the gro-clocks? We got one when we put DD1 into a proper bed, but tbh she is such a lazy bones I think she would stay in bed until lunchtime if she wasn't hungry could! [thankful]

carrotsandcelery · 26/07/2012 22:41

Ds did get a HUGE reward for staying in bed. I had a cuddly (ie plush) Mandeville hidden away so he got him. He was over the moon.

I am a bit emotional this evening. Dd is home from camp and lots of adults who stayed commented on how fab she is and how confident and capable she is. After how I felt earlier this week it was great to hear praise. She also won another first place rosette to add to her collection.

She clearly had a brilliant time so I am happy. She is also shattered so I expect fireworks for the next few days. [braces self emoticon]

Scout I don't think you can do much about that behaviour. My dbro used to wake up in with my parents and just grew out of it.

AdoraBell · 27/07/2012 00:33

Doh! Note self- Communicate fully in future!

DDs have friends over, one left just before 7 as it's a school night. Very sensible IMO, t'other's parents can't collect her until 9pm Chilean Time, which means anywhere from 9.30PM to 10.30PM Real Time

bessie26 · 27/07/2012 08:41

DD2 woke at 545 this morning
