Hope you don't mind me popping into your thread.
I'm getting back into flying, after a bit of a break, I've pretty much got the house into reasonable order, by my standards, (except the spare room and dd's room which are both a bit of a mess - dd's mainly because her stuff is all back in there rather than spread all over the house)
Anyway, I'm going to do a plan for the rest of the month, with tasks for each day, but I'm tempted to forget the zones and just spend 20 mins or so on a different room each day, and then add in set days for doing the on-line shopping order, changing the beds etc. Rather than working on one room for a week, because none of them are that bad now I've blitzed the house, they need the detailed cleaning doing (Vacumming behind the furniture, cleaning the skirting boards etc), but I was thinking I could do a couple of jobs in each room every week.
Am I over thinking this?
Last time I did fly lady I followed the zones but now I've decluttered it's more about keeping it undercontrol and then raising standards a bit. I'll be starting the morning and evening routines and the weekly home blessing once I'm handed in my assignment - the thing I'm supposed to be working on rather than typing this
.
Recently I've got stuck in that trap where you have something you need to do but don't want to do (the assignment), which then stops you doing other things because you should be doing that thing you don't want to do, and you end up doing nothing productive.
Sorry that was a bit long.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
What's your routine?
I should say a work 5 days a week on average 6 hours a day and I have primary age dd with all the usual out of school commitments, plus I'm studying for a masters degree, and trying to lose weight and get fit - hence why fly lady's little often approach works for me. I also have in-laws who turn up unannounced !
