A place to have a chat, drink Brew and relax from Stepping (or not). All chatters are welcome, Stepping or otherwise.

Come on in and enjoy the company!

Booting Scout and guilting her into it as we have just done ours. It feels soooo much better Scout. Go for it!

carrotsandcelery · 12/07/2012 20:57

I have put a photo of my experimental bracelet on my profile page. It is called experimental.

Can I ask honest opinions about it please? Dh thinks it is horrid and I don't want to embarrass myself and make loads of these if they are horrid. I won't take offence if you are honest. I can take it!

carrotsandcelery · 12/07/2012 20:58

Its the third one down and is two rows of turquoise beads with the odd larger bead in amongst them, with a tiny layer of little beads over them.

Scout19075 · 12/07/2012 21:06

I've washed up dinner. Degreased stove though it needs another going over but I've run out of puff. I haven't degreased the K.A. or the breadmaker yet. I should but my body just aches and doing it requires standing and elbow grease.

Toddler is really good about entertaining himself in the morning/early afternoon and I manage to do quite a lot then so think I'll just leave those two things (and doing round two at the stove/wall) until the morning when he's playing & having breakfast.

I think it looks nice carrots, although my personal favourites are No 4 & the last one (you need to name them!) - Could you take photos of them on am arm?

well done for flying scout - I am drinking Wine & watching sprinters on TV

carrotsandcelery · 12/07/2012 21:33

Those are memory wire bracelets bessie. I prefer them too but they are not as challenging or fun to make. I will make loads of them for the craft fair though because I think that is what would sell. They are also much quicker to make so it is not hard to build up a stock of them.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have no wrist to photo them on, unless I do it on dh's hairy arms which might not give the desired effect, as dh is rubbish challenged on the photo front and I have mega freckly arms.

I tell you, Pinterest is just too addictive! I knew I shouldn't have started. Wink

carrots, I like it but agree with bessie that the fourth and the last would be my favorites. I don't tend to wear jewelery, though, so I might not be the best person to ask.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 12/07/2012 22:04

I don't wear much jewellery either so I have no idea and the jewellery I do wear tends to be silver.

You will get over the initial Pinterest frenzy Scout and start to just dip in.

Scout19075 · 12/07/2012 22:37

I think part of my "problem" is I like to make a lot of homemade stuff and am trying to make more and more for Christmas/birthdays (to help save on costs). I just keep finding things.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 12/07/2012 22:50

carrots is right scout - after an initial mad frenzy you will find good people to follow & just get a nice steady stream of stuff.

I would love to make more stuff - especially with the kids, but just don't have the time. At least by pinning hundreds of things I have plenty of ideas to hand when I need them - we made birthday cards for Grannie the other day & I was very pleased with how they turned out! Grin

Next on my list is making an olympic torch, but DD1 informed me earlier that we are making banana biscuits tomorrow

carrotsandcelery · 12/07/2012 22:54

Awww! The cards are lovely bessie Grin

Scout19075 · 12/07/2012 23:05

I can't see your pictures, bessie, but saw the ideas link and it looks lovely. Grin

Smile

I slept a bit better last night --DD in our bed again-- Blush

I must go and sort breakfast soon! Getting a toddler/preschooler ready and trying to not use your right hand (when you are right handed) is pretty hard!
I find it almost impossible to not use my right hand but am giving it a good go.
DH still has to go to work so I just have to muddle on as best as I can.

Might pop back later.

CatsInChaos · 13/07/2012 07:13

Zoo I like that list! Grin

Scout19075 · 13/07/2012 07:54

Toddler REALLY needs to start sleeping through and/or stop getting up so stupidly early. I have a massive headache due to not enough sleep and being woken up in the wrong part of my sleep cycle. I am a bear.

CatsInChaos · 13/07/2012 08:51

--I have given up-- DD has been off her food all week with fevers and a cold. DS woke up this morning and gave me the "I don't feel well!" conversation.

I have caved in and let them stay off. I -cba- don't have the energy to battle with them when they are --not wanting to go in-- not feeling well. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 13/07/2012 09:54

Anyone know the cure for guilt? I have a major case of it. I was supposed to do something important for a friend yesterday and i forgot. I feel sick.

Scout19075 · 13/07/2012 13:02

Oh dear carrots. Sad

OP posts:
bessie26 · 13/07/2012 13:54

Eeek carrots - is it too late to do anything now?

I ballsed up the banana biscuits by getting the cup-to-gram conversion wrong. They had to be thrown away Sad. HFW's squash & chickpea stew was a HUGE success though Grin

I should probably be doing something useful, but first I need a Brew

Scout19075 · 13/07/2012 13:59

Toddler and I are eating those French Fries crisp things and watching Ben & Holly in French.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 13/07/2012 14:10

zoo - what book did you order? I just googled & found a few links
Dr Sears says you need:
Vit C (fruit & veg)
Vit E (seeds & grains)
Beta carotene (carrots)
Bioflavenoids (more veg)
Zinc (fortified cereal & beans)
Garlic
Selenium (brown rice, egg yolks, cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, garlic, Brazil nuts)
Omega-3 (flax oil)

Scout19075 · 13/07/2012 14:40

Toddler has fallen asleep on my lap. He's only done this one other time since he stopped nursing,
