Hey all!
Just so you know, I read more than I post!
:( to poorly people!
:) to good days out and lovely people taking DC away!!
:( to OCD
:) not being measles

Lollipop is doing really well with her potty training, she managed 4 wees at Nursery and only 2 accidents which I think is pretty good as it's full on playing!
Muddles is much better too. Bronchilitis is when little lungs get inflamed and blocked up. Difficult to breathe and therefor have a bottle or sleep! As it's a virus they can't give her anything, and it could be a long time recovery.
On the plus side, two mega bagains over the weekend! My favourite, most comfy, most flattering jeans had worn out [sob] and I was on the hunt for some more. I wanted to get some from charity shops as I am going to lose some weight and didn't want to pay full price. So we go into a British Heart shop and there are my jeans!!!!! In my size!!!!!!Grin The best bit is, they are Next jeans that I would never normally fork out for, so major barginous find!!!!
Second major bargain was for Lollipop. We are shortly going on our first holiday in the Camper, taking a week and ending up at a show that has a Disney theme. She already has a Tinkerbell outfit from Disney Store but I don't want to spend a fortune buying decent ones if they are going to get trashed. So.... We go to a car boot on Sunday morning and find a Minnie Mouse outfit that someone has obviously made (black leotard with bow and spotted puff sleeves and a spotted skirt) looks like a dance outfit........ for £1!!!!!!!! Quality! Doesn't matter if it doesn't last the weekend!!! Posted a pic on my profile.
Sorry, just realised how long this Grin

thats wonderful camper-i love charity shops and carbootsGrin

scouti suffer with OCD.....
my advice is make it clear how its affecting you and set some FIRM boundaries.while you are answering all his frantic questions you are unwittngly giving him reasurances which in time will become as much a part of the problem..if you need any support from anyone in similar situations there is a thread for partners woth OCD running at the mo in mental health.x

carrots and cats are you back to school today?

we have a teaacher training day

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 08:19
Blush sorry carrots
CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 09:13

Morning all,

zoo yes mine are all back today. It is very quiet here now.

How are the kitten cats?

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 10:16

my surfaces are covered in cat hairs in the kitchenHmm
i wandered out earlier and the black one was casually strolling through the washing up on the drainer

he is also the dominant one and an escapologist-he has mastered jump up at kitchen door handle to open it and nudge it open...as i was told they need spend at least 24hrs in there to consolidate litter tray skills he has learned to try and hide behind tv in a vain attempt not to be sent back.his face is VERY sulky when we send him back!we are hving to baracade themBlush

he learnt this within 30mins of being left in the kitchen-dd2 squealed whilst sit on the loo cat wa coming to get her!!!

black and white one is more nervous, but still friendly.his purr is deep and loud and very soothingSmile
hes playful and has habit lay floor and rolling onto back to nibble and scratch-this does scare kids a bit though as they a bit nervous animals

we are off to the petshop to get them a toy in a mo

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 10:18

need some major pointy sticking this afternoon

anyone who wants to buddy much appreciated

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 11:02

zoo I am an EX teacher and proud Grin so no need to Blush I get very frustrated with some of them too.

Scout it sounds like that support thread in mental health might be the place to look for advice on MrScout. I know people have worse problems but it doesn't mean that yours isn't frustrating. Please feel free to rant away.

zoo have fun with your kittens. I imagine you will have to train them not to go where you don't want them to. I have no idea how to train a cat though.

camper well done on the bargains. I have so much listed on ebay they won't let me list anymore. Blush It has motivated the dcs on the decluttering front and to part with out grown toys as dd made £35 last night selling her Ponyville stuff. I am a bit Sad but that is how you end up in this awful mess.

I am wishing the holidays had been a bit longer. Dd was upset last night but skipped off to school quite happily this morning. Their newly tidied bedrooms are much more pleasant for the process and meant that dd could lay her hands on everything without a struggle. Ds's gym bag went awol but dd found it in the utility room which is awaiting a much needed decluttering.

I had a bit of a panic about my to do list but dh has very wisely advised writing a list, prioritising it and just doing one job at a time and seeing how we get on.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 11:03

I will be around for pointy sticks if someone pointy sticks me back.

I will have to go out and shop for food for us and the furries but I am leaving it a while so I can establish what we do and don't have.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 11:29

I'll pointy stick if people pointy stick back!

Toddler's just asked for a rest! Shock I was putting his trousers on after a bum change and he just started saying "Paci, rest, rest, paci" and he got cross when I put his slippers back on. So I'm going to have an early lunch then start again.

zoo, very envious of kittens/cats. They sound lovely. If you ever need a cat stroker just call Toddler and I.

Yes, will have a look at the MH threads tonight. I want to focus on them and it's hard to concentrate during the day with jobs and Toddler.

Grabbed a pile of stuff out of Toddler's room (the top bit was an old Guiding magazine) as I put him down and found all of my cross-stitch pattern books I thought got donated at my parents' house -- I'm so excited! I was quite Sad at the thought they had been given away since I'm picking stitching back up again.

Yay for the bargins Camper. I love a good bargin!

Speaking of bargin, for those so inclined, Tesco Finast burgers (10 ct) are on offer for £2 per package

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 11:30

I will hopefully be around from 12.30 for lunch then "buddying"

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:23

It's oh so quiet!

I don't like it.

I will be longing for it when the dcs come home though won't I so I should savour it just now.

I am Envy of your extra day zoo. When is the jubilee? I think we get an extra day for that.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 12:38

Hi all, just lurking while I have lunch.

[evil cackle] Grin ---->

I will probably need pointy sticking too!!

I have DD home now but it is still fairly quiet.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 12:39

Jubilee's in June, first weekend.

Toddler has decided that sleep is for the weak so won't get be able to do as much as I hoped to this afternoon (like iron -- I won't iron when he's up because of where the cords go and how unpredictable a 2 year old can be).

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 12:42

Oh, I did pull out some more from Toddler's room and found ten (10! Shock) unopened packages for laminator pouches. Result!

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:51

I could cry.

Dh has just happily emailed me that he has decided to buy a sound bar for the tv and a blue ray player for the kitchen with the bonus he has been awarded so he has requested John Lewis vouchers.

WE DON'T NEED A SOUND BAR OR A BLU RAY PLAYER. WE DO NEED CLOTHES FOR THE DCS.

Why? Why is he buying useless tech when we can't afford to clothe our children?

He knows I have spent nearly the whole weekend listing on ebay to try to make some money. He had the means to sort the problem out right there and has wasted it.

I am so Angry and Sad.

Why did he ask me? If he had just come home and said he had been given John Lewis vouchers then I wouldn't have said anything as we can't get dd clothes there anyway. We could get ds clothes there but they would be more expensive.

We could have had Next vouchers and clothed them in nice stuff.

I really feel like crying.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 12:55

Oh carrots, that's crap. I've Sad and Angry on your behalf!

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:57

Thanks Scout.

I have sent him a snippy email and can only hope that he can change it.

I am really pretty angry with him.

I fail to see why he opened a discussion and then barged on in without finishing the discussion with me.

I am remembering why I have always handled the money and getting a nasty glimpse of his father in him. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 12:59

What do all of you use to clean your laptops? Mine is filthy. I have always just used a very slightly damp bit of kitchen roll. Is there a better way?

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 13:05

I'm assuming he knows of the need for new clothes -- that it's a need and not a want?

I'll admit MrScout handles the money, mostly because everything was already set up when I moved here (he bought the house before we met, etc). And now that I'm not working in a lot of ways it's just easier. But he is mostly sensible about it. And I don't tend to rush out and buy things (because I think will I love/use this constantly) though MrScout is generous to a fault and will often tell me to "get it" if I'm looking at something and/or saying "oh, isn't that nice/lovely/clever." I usually just say "remember it for the next gift giving holiday."

Since I've been a SAHM no longer on maternity my MiL has occasionally surprised me with a cheque to treat myself but I tend to save that money for our swimming class and our activities (like trips to soft play or a treat of a lunch at a garden center during the week). I'll admit I don't normally tell MrScout about that money Blush but it means that I don't have to ask him for cash to treat Toddler and I and I don't feel guilty for our soft play trips, etc.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 13:21

Anyone want to "buddy"?

I need a pointy stick!
--is feeling blue but doesn't want to make a big deal out of it--

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 13:28

I will, Cats, though I'm struggling to move with Toddler and all of his trains. He's definitely ill. Sad Not clingy but not eating, has the hiccups and just wants to follow me. He's standing here playing with trains on the arm of the chair, cuddling his Bunny.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 13:33

Do you want to meet back at 2.00?

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 13:39

See you then!

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 14:01

I fear I'm out of cleaning commission until Toddler goes to bed -- he's coughing up phlegm and just wants cuddles and Ben & Holly.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 14:03

I'll post my ta dahs on the other thread.
