There's Brew and Biscuit, help yourselves!

The plumber and the BT internet man are both here tomorrow morning. I'm ready for some hot water.

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 19:37

You will have to run the deepest, bubbliest bath ever Scout and lounge in it with a Brew and a book or TS for company. Grin

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 19:42

Oooohhhh, that sounds good. I think a hot bath with a cup of hot chocolate and a book will be the order of tomorrow night.

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 20:27

I need some poking to go do the stuff in the kitchen.

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 20:32

Pokety poke poke! Go, go, go Scout! 15 mins in the kitchen, NOW!

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 20:33

Aye aye!

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 20:36

I am chilling out now. I am scared to do too much and not sleep again. Ds has been clearly warned. He is not well though and I am not convinced he will be at school tomorrow.

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 20:55

Managed to boil water and wash up the dishes from today. Have another pot going to make gravy for MrScout's dinner and am reheating his food. Also decluttered about half of the ironing board.

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 21:02

Well done Scout.

I lied. I forgot I would still have another load of washing to hang. I have hung it so I am now chilling out again.

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 21:20

I got busy folding the laundry while waiting for MrScout. He's home now (and eating) so I think I'm going to go to Tesco for my 45 minutes me time.

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 21:29

I have finally ordered the velux blackout blind for our landing. We have only lived here for 12 years after all. How long do you think it will take us to fit it?

Scout19075 · 23/04/2012 23:45

The plumber is due in the morning to fix our boiler and the BT internet man is also due in the morning to upgrade our internet. I might not be around until lunchtime or so.

Happy flying!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 09:20

Morning all!

Good luck with the plumber Scout.

< goes off to make usual Large coffee Brew >

CamperWidow · 24/04/2012 09:22

Hey guys! I have had a look on the FlyLady website and found a bit of a game, Flying Bingo. Basically you write down a list of 7 things and we take it in turns to 'call' a number. You have 10 minutes to get the job done! Then the next person calls a number. You take all day to do it, but we could designate jobs off our To Do lists. Anyone up for it?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 09:23

Carrots I like your latest creation! Smile That one is more my kind of thing.

Scout19075 · 24/04/2012 09:37

Camper, I would but I'm not sure when I'll lose internet connection (BT man due anytime between 8 & 1). Plumber was due at 9:30.

carrotsandcelery · 24/04/2012 09:55

Camper I like the sounds of the game but will be out most of today. I would definitely be up for it on a day I am at home though.

Cats the latest creation is more my kind of thing as well. It is not as much fun but I think it is prettier. Weird isn't it.

My friend is a proper professional jewellery maker and is going to run a class soon so I have signed up in the hopes of getting some tips. What I really want is a class teaching the little metal bits for finishing and clasps etc.

I have ordered more wire for the more recent style. My dmum said I could make them for fundraiser events.

I am going out to play this morning with a friend so will be out for a while. I hope to see impressive lists when I get back

Oh and I slept for 6 1/2 hours last night - BLISS! Grin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 10:00

Well done on the sleep carrots!

Camper I might play it one day --when feeling more motivated--

Scout19075 · 24/04/2012 10:06

Plumber's come and gone. Even though last time he told me he'd order parts/seals and come back he didn't -- and it's what he told me this time, too. I'm going to hold him to coming back at the end of the week.

However, he's kickstarted the boiler back to life and I hear the heat kicking on. Bliss.

CamperWidow · 24/04/2012 10:24

Ha! So it's a great idea, but you're all coping out?! Smile Think of it as a friendly pointy stick Grin!

On a plus note, Muddles has been in her cot for 4 nights now!!! I ended up putting her on her front last night as she kept crying when her dummy came out and I got 4.5 hrs solid sleep!!! Shock I think that might be the strategy from now on!

Do you guys do internet food shopping? I am thinking about doing it to curb spending and so I can be more efficient with menu planning.

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 10:38

Scout I hope you have some hot water soon!

Camper I don't do internet shopping.

I have come up with an idea. I really need to get myself doing stuff. You might think this is mad but I am going to do myself a "reward chart" Grin.
I really need some "real life" motivation and seeing as I am alone (apart from 3yr old DD) most of the day, I need to find ways of motivating myself.

I will write jobs on it that I need to do or things I avoid and if I do them I will get a sticker "woohoo!!" --mad cow-- then when I get a certain amount I will get a treat or do something I enjoy.

Anyone else fancy joining me?
--or are you already motivated--

Scout19075 · 24/04/2012 11:01

BT Man due in the next half an hour.

I have hot water and heat. WAHOO! Managed to wash up all of today's dishes (and last night's glasses from post dinner drinks/snacks) without having to boil water. WAHOO!

Camper, I'd like to play the game, but not until this afternoon as I'm going to lose internet soon.

Cats, I'd like a sticker chart, too. Are you going to use it for daily routine things (example, washing up) or extra to do things (like one off emails or trips to the tip, etc)?

sarahfreck · 24/04/2012 11:16

Feeling washed out and unmotivated so in need of some gentle encouragement. Not sure stickers would work for me as they would probably bring out my "inner rebel"! Can't really do the numbers game either as I have to make certain work based tasks my priority or the world will go pear shaped , I'll end up having to teach when I've not prepared anything!!

So off to make a cup of tea, then set my timer for an hour and do work based stuff for an hour!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 11:24

Scout I'm going to use it for daily jobs (washing up etc). I have become so --lazy down recently I NEED an incentive or reason for doing stuff. DH won't say "well done" for doing jobs so I need to do it for my inner child-- myself.

I will be seeing my counsellor again from next week so hoping to get back on track. I've been struggling for a while with my depression.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/04/2012 12:24

Signing in for lunchtime.
