carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:18

What's up with them zoo?

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:19

Would a wee nip help them out at all?

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:21

MrScout has just taken the outside rail off of Toddler's cotbed. Shock Grin Sad My baby's a big boy.

(To be fair, I've wanted to do it for a while. TS has never made a climb over bid for freedom but tries to climb in.)

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:29

Scout that is officially a BIG DEAL and Ts is officially a BIG TODDLER!

Grin at climbing in rather than out Grin

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:30

Raises glass to TS and his first night in a big boys bed!

(You can tell I am a Scot when the bottle comes out!) Grin

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:34

He is a big toddler. He'll be 2 1/2 (30 months) next weekend. And he's quite big for his age (MrScout is 6'5") so really surprised he hasn't tried to make a break for it. But like a lot of things I think he doesn't try it until he knows he can do it on his own (like going into the big kids bit at soft play on his own).

MrScout's up there reading to him in his room while he's laying down. Usually stories are done in our room. I think it's to get him used to the railing being off -- let him check it out while stories are being read so then he'll go to sleep. I've adjusted the stairgate to fit upstairs and it's up so even if TS gets up he can't come down (he fell 3/4 of the way down the stairs around a year ago and now stairs are one of the few things I'm paranoid about).

liveinazoo · 22/04/2012 19:35

well done to TS the big boySmile

carrots ds hs flushed face, snotridden and wheezy with a cough.dd2 is flushed but cld and clammy and complaining of painful throat-barely touched her dinner, even asking to be fedShock

id best wander off and have a bit quiet time while i have the chance

have fun everyone

"see" you all tomorrow.x

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:39

carrots, what sort of bottle do you like?

zoo, that sounds grim. Good luck.

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:41

Oh dear zoo that sounds nasty. Good luck for the night ahead.

Scout I am a Southern Comfort or Crabbies drinker if I get the choice but I am not too fussy really Grin What about yourself?

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:43

I'm more of cocktails girl, when I do imbibe, but I don't often. Though I have a had a bit more RL drink since January than I have since I moved to this country. It's been a rough few years and I spent 3 years not being allowed to drink.

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:46

I've been "given permission" to get rid of a couple of large empty boxes.

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 19:50

I rarely have a drink in RL too Scout but I like to imagine. I used to...

Hurrah! For getting rid of boxes. Babysteps Scout and boxes, empty or otherwise, must take up space.

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 19:52

They do. And I'm happy! Still want to shift a few other things tonight and we might get a few things into the loft before the evening is done (can't do it now because of TS not being fully asleep).

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 20:01

Toddler's sound asleep -- Bunny in his left hand, snuggled over part of his face and a Thomas the Tank book (from the original Rev Awdry series, so a little hardback book) clutched in his right hand. I'll remove the book in a bit but didn't want to cause him to stir yet.

My only concern is that he does tend to sleep in the right corner/side so we may need to get one of those low rails until he learns to sleep more in the center of his bed.

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 20:14

Scout we used to pad the floor beside the bed just in case until ours got the hang of the cot side being off eg another duvet on the floor to soften a tumble or that sort of thing.

Scout19075 · 22/04/2012 20:17

WWYD. Am going through a box of toys that TS is clearly too old for (rattles, etc). Obviously I'm going to pass those one (none of them he was particularly attached to and some I don't remember him playing with). The question is the stuffed animals and knitted/crochet animals. They've been in the box for at least a year, unloved and unlooked for. TS has lots enough other animals up in his room/bed that he already thinks are odd/isn't bothered with. So is it heartless to pass on animals, too?

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 20:37

Pass them on Scout. I found that really difficult but my dcs would have hundreds of them if I had kept them all. Periodically we go through them and donate the ones who aren't being loved in the hope that they will be loved elsewhere.

CatsintheKitchen · 22/04/2012 20:40

Have I missed the party?

Any Wine left?
