I need to go and find something for my lunch. With no hot water I'm trying not to make too many dishes/pots. Still, might have soup since I don't really fancy a sandwich.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/04/2012 13:36

Just having a Brew after having a late lunch.

I need to go and sort my kitchen (it's going to take a while) Blush. I intend to do it 15 mins at a time.

Scout it's pretty grim when you don't have hot water. We were having water problems last August and couldn't shower or do much else.
When do you think the plumber will be able to come?

Do you still need the pointy stick Carrots? ------->

Scout19075 · 20/04/2012 13:44

Plumber's coming on Tuesday (along with the phone/internet guy because MrScout's doing some sort of upgrade). I don't want to go to the in-laws because of the measles thing but I don't fancy staying here without heat/hot water. Fortunately it's not too cold. I might call one of my friends to see if I can take Toddler over for a bath -- his hair is a bit straw-like after swimming since I didn't seem to do a good job rinsing it after swimming yesterday.

After a crazy two days I don't feel like moving off this chair.

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 13:51

I was going to say you might be able to fill a bath deep enough for TS with the kettle and cold tap Scout until I realised that your kettle is probably downstairs and your bath upstairs. I forget our house is odd. You have to be very, very careful when you do it too so it is probably a bad idea.

Having no hot water is a pest. We take it for granted nowadays.

I would really avoid the measle household for now Scout. It's the last thing you need. Even the worry about it is taxing.

Thank you for the pointy stick. I got going in the end and am having a sit down with my lunch now.

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 13:52

Good luck with the kitchen Cats. One step at a time. Smile

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 14:48

How did the car's MOT go Cats?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/04/2012 16:17

It passed carrots but they advised it might need a few jobs doing in the near future so we may need to save up for those.

Scout19075 · 20/04/2012 17:38

I'm tired of wiping noses and bums. I need a day off.

Cats, yay for passed MOT but bum for possibly needing work soon.

Carrots, how's the new bracelet?

CamperWidow · 20/04/2012 17:51

Right ladies, I'm going to need hand holding and fx. DH and Lollipop are off on a Camper Weekend so it's just me and Muddles. I have decided to bite the bullet and take the 2 night oppourtunity to try and get her down in her own cot in the nursery. Up until now she has been sleeping on me on the sofa (I know, I know) so this is gonna be a mega change!!!!! I've already set up a duvet in there on my lovely glider chair so if I need to be in there tonight I can. I'm hoping we can crack it nice and early as it took Lollipop a lot longer to get upstairs!
Will report back later, may need a Wine!

CamperWidow · 20/04/2012 18:56

OK, so far so good. She did have a bit of a cry and so I did the 'pick up put down' thing and just patted her back. I am sooooo not going to sleep tonight! SadGrin

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 19:50

Cats I tried to reply to you from the stables. It took 15mins for the thread to load and then my phone wouldn't let me type Hmm so I gave up and went out in the rain to muck about with some horses Grin

Camper good luck. You are doing the right thing. We have just taught our ds (7) to sleep by himself Blush and sooooo wish we had cracked it when he was a baby.

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 20:05

Scout I added a little heart shaped silver charm which says "made with love" to the bracelet and gave it to my dmum this afternoon. I think she liked it. If she didn't she is a very good actress. I really hope she did as I don't want to clutter her life with stuff just because she is being polite Hmm

Dd is over the moon with her smaller one so maybe there is a market, as was suggested earlier, for making them for her friends or children's sales etc.

How are you feeling Scout? It sounds to me like you need MrScout to take over for a day or two. How is his schedule? Would he be able to give you some time out this weekend? It is a very difficult thing to achieve when your dh works long hours.

Scout19075 · 20/04/2012 20:36

I'm alright, carrots. Honestly. Just tired and fed up but I'm alright. So many people have it worse off I don't feel I can/should complain.

Ohhh, good luck Camper. It's hard and a bit sad, but if it's what you want and need than stick with it. As someone who most nights does bedtime alone (and always has), I'm here to hold a hand if you want it.

I'd really like to get back into my crafting. I miss it. I think it would help my sanity a bit.

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 21:13

What sort of crafting do you like Scout?

I just feel I need to have something that I do for me iykwim and if the stables are going to stretch the budget then I need to look for something else.

I am hoping it will help with my sanity too Scout. You need a bit of your own life in amongst it all, no matter how much you love being a mum.

Tonight dd rode my favourite horse at the stables (she has never ridden him before) and I was sooooo jealous. The dream had always been that she grew tall enough for us to share. Even her instructor commented on what a perfect match he would be for the pair of us. I was so happy for her but...

Camper I am around for hand holding and blether too.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/04/2012 21:18

Is it Wine o'clock yet?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/04/2012 21:34

Cheers!

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 21:35

Oooh! Are you sharing Cats?

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 21:36
carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 21:40

Clink, Clink!

Scout19075 · 20/04/2012 21:42

I do little bits of this and that -- card making, scrapbooking, cross-stitch, random kid-type crafts. Card making and scrapbooking takes up too much room and I don't like to clear it up at the end of the night (since it usually takes more than one evening to complete a project). I don't have any threads or fabric to start a cross-stitch project but I've been eyeing up my found books for inspiration.

Seem to be having another row re "stuff." I just want to leave.

bessie26 · 20/04/2012 21:51

camper I did PUPD with DD2 when she was about 5m old. Hang in there! It really worked well for us, and saw HUGE improvement after 3 days.

carrotsandcelery · 20/04/2012 21:52

Don't leave Scout.

You have had a tough week.

Calmly tell him you have had a tough week.

If he is still going on about his stuff calmly suggest renting storage somewhere so you can live in a bit more calm.

Rant to your heart's content here.

I am around if you need hand holding too. I have 2 hands.

((((hugs))))

I used to do cross-stitch [looks at Nephews' birth sampler, guiltily] but haven't been able to with Muddles asleep on me, hopefully I will be able to start it up again. Every now and then I think I could do some knitting, but it never works out right or Lollipop gets hold of it. Grin

Fx she seems to have dropped off now, gonna try and get some kip. It's no coincidence I washed the bed sheets yesterday yet they wern't dry to go on the bed last night Wink Mmmm, clean bed sheets! Grin
