We have pointy sticks -> to get you off the sofa and chocolate and stickers as rewards.

Let's end our CHAOS and enjoy our sparkly homes.

Ok, 2 children living at home 15 yr old boy and 5 yr girl. I am not working right now I do seasonal work, 6 months I don't work and 6 months I work 8 hours a day, 7 days a week.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 10:35

I have an 8 yr old DS and a 3 yr old DD.

I'm not feeling too bad this morning so I have got washing machine on and done a bit of washing up. Still got tons to do but I'm just having a snack.

Dlamis · 29/02/2012 12:03

Morning. I'm feeling much better today. Lurgy seems to be on the way out although ds2 has just sneezed. Uh oh

carrots - I feel your pain. I hate shoe shopping too. Big feet and nice elegant shoes just don't go together. Give me a comfy pair of trainers anyday.

Welcome to the thread Greek. I have been trying to sort my life out get organised for years. I've attempted doing flylady and the babysteps many times and given up. This time I'm doing really well imho but alot of that is down to this thread and the lovely ladies all prodding with point sticks spurring each other on.

So far
Early morning routine done
1 lot of washing on line, 2nd lot in
DW done
Swept and mopped kitchen floor and cleaned kids chairs
Hoovered lounge and hall

bessie26 · 29/02/2012 12:30

Hi Dlamis glad you're feeling a bit better today, fx DS2 doesn't get it. I had an ok-ish night's sleep (only woke coughing a couple of times) & actually managed to sleep laying down! (have been propped up on pillows for the last couple of weeks)

I couldn't find enough clothes to make a load, so ran the WM on empty at 90deg. I put some soda crystals in the drawer in an attempt to clean it, but had no idea how much to put in, so no idea if it worked!

The living room is as safe as it's going to get safe for DD2 to roam around in - I had to vacuum yet again as the cats had left clumps of fur all over the floor (they have been shut outside now) We also popped out to return some clothes to one shop & buy some more from another.

Just having lunch now before more crawling practice. Today's mission is to identify things in the living room that don't belong there, so I'm hoping I can do that while DD2 is rolling around on the floor.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 12:54

Just having a Brew before I get cracking again! I actually feel like getting on with it today Grin.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 14:11

I've just been busy for the last hour, I have:
cleaned the cat litter tray
put down clean newspaper under cat litter tray
emptied the hoover
hoovered kitchen and dining room
and put a clean throw on the sofa (in dining room).

Just having a rest now before I swap DD toys around. She wants the lego downstairs again Shock NOOooooooo!!! I will have to get it but only if we put other toys back upstairs.Wink

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 14:42

Glad you've made tons of progress Zoo. Hope you can get your computer (or whatever it is) up and running again.

carrotsandcelery · 29/02/2012 15:06

Hello again everyone. Greek welcome to the thread. It sounds like you will fit right in with all of us. I have a dd (nearly 11) and a ds (7).

I got back from the shops, had five minutes and went out with the dogs and am now back on for 5 mins before the school run.

I managed to get shoes but they are so high I am not sure I will be able to walk in them. I have ordered some flatter ones as well so I am hoping they fit. The shops are full of crazy heels or totally flat shoes just now.

I will teeter about the house in the heels for a few days and see how I get on at least it will give the kids a laugh.

I also bought some control underwear but it hasn't made much impression on my malteser fuelled tum so I will just have to accept myself the way I am. Grin

I am shattered now so no flying has been done and I have to go out again for the school run and then again for one of dd's many after school activities so I will be luck to do basics today. I will do them though and wear my silly shoes while I do them too Grin (Can you spot the slight hysteria caused by forced girly shoe shopping?)

Hi all, I'll join if I can. I did try this before Christmas and was doing really well and then fell drastically off the wagon!
I'm a SAHM with two DD's, one 2.5 and one 5 months. Hubby works really long hours so at times I feel like a single parent. I love being a Mom, I'm just struggling with the relentlessness of it all, which is made 10x worse by the mess the place is in.
Sorry, didn't mean to get all down, I'm just tired!

carrotsandcelery · 29/02/2012 15:08

Hi Camper welcome to the thread. We start babysteps again tomorrow so your timing is perfect. Quite a few of us have partners who work long hours so you are not alone.

Right, I must go and collect the dcs.

bessie26 · 29/02/2012 15:35

My DDs are 3.4 & 10months.

Operation Pampas Grass has begun! (Thank-you zoo for inspring me to get out in the sunshine & fill the compost wheelie bin!)

carrots I bought some magic pants once. Although they made my butt look lovely, all that flab has to go somewhere & I had the most enormous muffin top you have ever seen! Grin

I'm off to DD1's parent's evening in a bit so had better get on....

carrotsandcelery · 29/02/2012 15:44

That is another problem with the control underwear. Unless it is a complete body suit, including neck and toes, it is going to pop out somewhere and sometimes it was better where it started Grin

carrotsandcelery · 29/02/2012 15:46

Dd is having a great time in the crazy shoes! Grin

Good luck with parent's evening bessie. I hope she hasn't been up to mischief behind the bike sheds.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/02/2012 15:51

Hi all, I've just found this thread and was hoping to join?

I have a husband who works long hours too, so also feel like a single parent a lot of the time - CamperWidow I could have written your post! Am feeling pretty frazzled by ds1's bad behaviour today (3.2yo) and ds2 (19 months) has a sickness bug. Looking at the state of the house gets me even more depressed and I fear I will be comfort eating for the remainder of the day Wink

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 16:13

Hi all, Welcome to all newcomers Smile.
I just thought I'd pop in before I go to the kitchen and do dinner/washing up etc.

My 3.3 yr old is being hard work just lately too. She has trashed the living room by emptying all toys onto the floor. I think I will need to try and sneak some of them back upstairs later.

Dlamis · 29/02/2012 16:48

I'm just having 30 5 minutes with a hot choc

Hi Camper and MyLife*Welcome to the thread. I have 2 ds's, 6 and 4, and a 'working long hours' dh too. I would say it gets easier when they start school but i childmind part-time so it's not made much difference. Start with the babysteps and we'll give you a prod with a pointy stick when you need it :o

bessie I've done the propped up sleeping thing before. Not easy to get a good nights sleep like that is it? DD2 can help with your mission, she is guaranteed to find anything that shouldn't be there :o
We have parents evening tonight too. If his behaviour last night and tonight is being repeated at school we are in for an interesting night

you have been busy bees today

Dlamis · 29/02/2012 16:49

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 29/02/2012 17:11

Thanks for the welcome :) My traumatic day started with ds2 throwing up and shortly after ds1 tantruming massively on the way to nursery and me coming home in tears without dropping him off :( The day didn't get much better...

Please tell me more about baby steps. Do I have to join the flylady site? It was a bit anoying confusing last time I ventured there

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/02/2012 17:30

Hi MyLife, I'll make this short as i'm doing dinner at the same time.

No you don't have to "join" the flylady website.Smile I or one of the others might do links to the babysteps for you but I need to check with Carrots or bessie first. I sometimes mess up links as I am still learning Blush.

If you have anymore questions though don't be afraid to ask.
I will pop back later.

carrotsandcelery · 29/02/2012 18:19

Hi chaotic - love your name Smile Welcome to the thread.

You don't need to join flylady. I will try to link to the babystep of the day early in the day but if someone who can is on before me feel free to do the link as I am often a bit later signing in for the day.

I have managed to clean the worktops in order to make tea and have ignored the dishes so far. I am hoping for a second wind when the dcs go to bed. Dh is out tonight entertaining people from New Zealand so I am doing everything (or not doing anything) myself today.
