Morning all, I woke up at 3.30am and got up at 4.00.
Have just had a nap on the sofa but I suppose I ought to make a start on the day now.

Have already done 1 x washing up

Ahhhh, good morning Monday. How I both love and loathe thee. Normal services (activities) resume today.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 20/02/2012 06:52

Morning Scout, I think I know what you mean. The DC are back to school/nursery today and DH back to work so will be all on my lonesome. Part of me is looking forward to the peace and quiet and the other half will be missing them and longing for company. Confused

Ahhh, Monday. The day I can try to reclaim my living room. It had been going so well. I have lost a lot of Toddler's lovely play space. I will rediscover it today.

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 09:09

Have managed to coral the magazines. They're in my Book People box. But think I'll put them in the file box I've been using to store donations and use the Book People box to actually take donations either today or tomorrow. I don't care. I need stuff out. I've taken a box of MrScout's Christmas gifts upstairs for him to deal with (but sadly I doubt he will). Looking at the stuff he'll never look at/use/love most of it. I could very easily donate it -- random books (he doesn't read books), model kits he'll never build (not his thing), etc. But I feel I should give him the benefit of the doubt (for another month or two).

I feel bad adding to it with his Father's Day gift (the lovely atlas which is really very nice, BTW). BUT with it I'm working on the basis of it will be good for Toddler as well (when he's slight bigger) and we start a more formal education. He's already following his dad in a lot of ways -- his love of Brio/trains & duplo/lego, computers, telephones and maps (on the computer & phone). But he's like me in that he loves books (and lately, when he wakes up, will (in his own way) tell me to go away for a while because he's reading in bed and doesn't want to stop.

Morning everyone. BC that is an early start. I recommend a wee nap somewhere along the way today.

I have a mission for everyone. I challenge you all to find a more disgusting job to do than the one I did this morning. I cleaned the very complex plug hole in our shower. It involves taking off a cover (which is slimy with gunge), pulling out a sort of vented cup thing (which is full of long, slimy hair), then scrubbing the actual plug hole which has gone pink with what I assume is some sort of mould. It then requires the scrubbing of the cup and cover as well. Bleurgh!

I only knew it needed done because I have started using the shower again as opposed to the bath and found my feet were swimming in water. How does no one else notice this? Bleurgh! Bleurgh!

Anyway, I give you all a week to find something more disgusting than that to clean in your house - and nappies don't count!! The prize is some decadent form of chocolate (to share on the thread of course) Wink

I have also put a wash on, loaded the dw and put it on, cleaned the worktops, got the dcs to school with snacks and lunches...

I have a to do list and then I am hitting the dcs bedrooms - yikes!!!

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 09:41

Scout as an ex English teacher I congratulate you on fostering TS's love of books Smile

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 09:42

bessie I know exactly what you mean about undecided. I think ds has decided for us finally though as I don't know if he would cope Sad Smile It's a very confusing thing.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 20/02/2012 09:55

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 11:39

Have decided I probably won't get into town today to do donations so am NOT going to load them into the car. That got me into trouble last time.

Have just come across a file/pile of Governor's papers from before MrScout and I met. To be fair it's in a file folder but it was in the magazine rack but it wasn't there before. Honestly. Do we need governor's agendas from nine years ago? No. Will MrScout have a brick if I recycle them? Probably.

liveinazoo · 20/02/2012 12:04

BlackCatTryingToFly · 20/02/2012 12:50

I understand Zoo, have sent you a PM.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 13:24

zoo they are there to help you, not catch you out. Try to be calm and absorb what they are doing with you.

I have been on the phone or out most of the morning working my way through an extensive to do list. I am pretty tired but hoping a wee rest will revive me.

I still have washing to hang, another load to put on, the week's shopping to put away, hoovering AND UPSTAIRS to tackle.

Kudos to zoo on the grotty job. I need to do that too so I might get on the job before I do the next load.

I am definitely not thinking of more children. I would love them but it is not an option for me. It makes me sad and relieved at the same time. Confused

zoo I loved Aerosmith when I was a teenager and loads of rock/metal/deathmetal. Dh did too. It's weird now to think of it now. I had really long pink curly hair, piercings, customised dms etc. It feels like a different person. Dh knew me around Uni because of my hair and had "admired" me from afar before the night we met. Awwww!

I am totally normal and straight and dull now. Ha ha! I did enjoy my trip down memory lane last night though. Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 20/02/2012 13:41

Sorry Carrots, I didn't mean to be insensitive when I asked about DC.

Zoo I know we might not have exactly the same problem but I am also worrying about my appointment. Carrots is right though, They are there to help us.
I feel the whole MH thing is scary but I think that is just from my lack of experience and suddenly being told that I have something wrong with me. It really shouldn't be a subject we feel Blush about. Anyway what I'm trying to say --but failing-- is that I am here if you want to talk. x

I seem to have come to a standstill at the mo. In need of a pointy stick!!

OP posts:
bessie26 · 20/02/2012 13:55

Hope tonight goes ok zoo

I am about to have a nap, I think DH has given me his fluey-type thing, up for ages coughing in the night & feeling hot/cold etc Sad

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 14:30

Not insensitive at all BC so no worries there Smile

Oh no bessie! I assumed he had picked up the thing that had given you that horrid cough you had last week. Maybe your house is too clean now and you are damaging your immunity Wink Are you still breast feeding or can you take hard core cold and flu drugs now? (There was a thread not long ago about the best ones which is why I ask). Either way I hope you feel better soon.

I have tackled the gunky wm drawer - couldn't have zoo getting ahead of me on the grotty jobs front Wink What about the rest of you? Can anyone find a mankier job than my plughole to tackle?

I have also cleaned the fridge and put away the majority of the shopping.

I have also folded the washing but half of it wasn't quite dry so now I am worried I will have washed too much. It seems hiding the airer doesn't work as the clothes don't dry fast enough.

I still have to hoover and have given up on the idea of getting upstairs today as we have to go to the big smoke this pm to continue the hunt for dd's riding gear.

Dh is out tonight so I need to preserve some energy.

What have the rest of you been up to?

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 14:43

bessie this is a gift just for you Infact, when I read the title, I assummed you had posted it Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 20/02/2012 16:04

Anyone around?

I still have some washing up to do then need to do tea.

I can't wait to start feeling better then I might start getting better at Flying etc.Hmm
