How did she get on BlackCat? I imagine she is really tired now.

I have been phoned by the bank and they still have no idea why my money had been moved but have also found that lots of small amounts have been moved over the last 10 days. They all go into my account but were not instructed to do so by me. I am a bit freaked out. I would have gone overdrawn today if I had not noticed as I was moving other money into another account - something I instructed someone at the bank to do well before Christmas. I am not best chuffed.

Other than that I have been dealing with a leaky Velux (not got far on that one) and listing heaps and heaps of wii games on ebay. It has taken ages but will hopefully bring some money in.

Now for some more flying. I have ironed yesterday's dry washing though and put away the rest. Doing it daily does make a difference as it only takes minutes.

They said she was fine carrots so I am Grin.

We are on our lunch hour now between 12 and 1.00pm to fit in with nursery/school. She has to go nursery again tomorrow then that's it for this week.

I am Shock shocked about your bank moving money around, I hope you find out why.

I think I will get more of a routine going when she is at nursery full time.
I will have to fit things around school and nursery drop offs and pick ups.

I am hoping to do my kitchen stock take next then I can work out a meal plan of sorts.Wink

liveinazoo · 16/01/2012 13:14

sounds like you have a plan going there blackcatSmile
ive picked up dd3 and made and eaten soup with a sandwich.
just slurping a strawberry milkshake and see what you lot have bin up to then i wil do 15mins decluttering the surface in my kitchen(the ine i located last weekHmm)
still 15mins should get it all cleared away again..i like all these instructons.left to my own devoises id "leave it for another day" and eventually it would be chaos and id struggle to attack it

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 13:35

I am so glad she has a good time BlackCat. I find the school run gives me a bit of structure to work my day around so adding in your nursery run it will break the day up and give you little slots to fill with routines.

How did the drop off go this morning btw? Did you drop ds and then go to nursery? Was he quite happy?

It won't take long to get the new routine rolling.

I have hoovered the fan vent in our main bathroom and then the floor and then did the lounge, bedroom, hall and kitchen since I was at it. I have since realised I should have done the fan in the little ensuite as well. I will do that next time I get the hoover out.

Where has everyone chosen as their "other" room? Has anyone else got 2 bathrooms? We have a main one and a little shower room. I am slowly realising that this means I have 3 rooms to zone this week. I should probably add the study/music room/den room now that I have uncovered it, so that it stays under control. It has suddenly become quite a big zone to tackle.

I have hung the last load of washing but not put more on. There is washing there but not enough of any one type to make a load so it would be wasteful. I should take this opportunity to do a bed, shouldn't I? Gah!

In other news the bank has sorted their error and moved money back where it should be. They have also said they won't charge me for going over drawn today - TOO BLINKIN' RIGHT THEY WON'T BECAUSE IT WASN'T MY FAULT! Grr! Anyway, all is well that ends well.

What's for dinner?

I have no idea! (and I am going out in 25 mins)

I have made this from bessie's blog which she linked to the other day I don't have a red onion or an avocado but we will have it with low fat creme fraiche, iceberg lettuce and some grated cheddar.

It is really quick to make and smells absolutely lovely. (I have added a touch of chilli powder too just because I feel like it). I will report back later.

oops! Not sure my link was too good but it is the beany fajitas that I have made.

Afternoon ladies, well and truly back on the wagon today.

Ds's and furniture successfully moved into other bedroom and very happy about it. Dh and I are feeling a bit sore and stiff though! but glad it's done. Next job is to get some of the toys moved up.

Black - glad blackkitten got on ok at nursery. That first time is always far worse for us than them. If you're trying not to spend money, join us on the No Spend January thread. I've saved/not spent loads this month because of that thread.

carrot- hope your get your bank sorted out. Good job you checked your balance.

Grin at Bogeyman soup

So far today

  • Kids successfully packed off to school/pre-school, that alone is enough to finish me off on a Monday. The amount of things/bags they have to remember. I need a buggy just to put their bags in, never mind put the little people in.
  • Dishwasher filled, emptied, refilled.
  • Other washing up done and sink all shiny
  • Washing in, out and hanging on the line (although i'm not sure whether it'll dry or just freeze)
  • Hall, lounge dusted and hoovered.
  • Rubbish and recycling put in bins in garage

To do

  • Decluttering
  • Hot spot
  • Take some toys upstairs
Dlamis · 16/01/2012 14:23

carrot - I just read that as 'beany farts' :o

Eggrules · 16/01/2012 14:25

Hope BlackKitten is looking forward to tomorrow.

Under the stairs and one other wall has had a first coat. I have 35 mins until I leave for the school run. Leftovers to dinner - thank goodness.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 16/01/2012 14:59

I am feeling pretty tired now, and I still have to do the school run, make dinner and do any other jobs.

I have hoovered the dining room and living room. I know i'm not quite in the right zone but I think I won't be able to do zones properly till DD is in nursery full time.

The school run went very well this morning. I had arranged with School to drop him off early but it is a one off. As it turns out the nursery didn't open the doors to let anyone in till 8.50am so I could of just got him to school for 8.45am. Hmm Think I will do that tomorrow!
The school and nursery are only about 5 minute walk away from each other so it is quite good.

Still haven't done my kitchen stock take or meal plan but tonight we are making our own pizza.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 16/01/2012 15:08

Dlamis Which topic is that thread in?
(The no spend January thread)

Dlamis · 16/01/2012 15:24

Nospendthread

It's in Credit Crunch. Had to double check as i go to it thru 'threads i'm on' and only found it by accident in the first place. :o

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 15:53

Dlamis - that will be tomorrow Wink I will be stuck at home waiting for a tv repair man though so I won't be too Blush And we have a dog Grin

I have been on a no spend month before and it really does work - it is like weight watchers for spending. I have been doing it but just not on a thread just now. I will have a look. Thanks Dlamis

The room change might be a good chance for a declutter of the toys and a venture onto ebay. Feel free to join us on the £300 by Easter thread. You don't need to be aiming for £300 really. It is just fun to set a target.

Well done on the painting Egg. Does it look brighter already?

BlackCat it sounds like it will work out well. I don't think it matters if you don't work in the zone area. If you see a job needing done and do it then it is all good.

Yay! We are all doing brilliantly!

black glad to hear the drop off went smoothly & that she had a good morning at pre-school.

Took DD1 to her swimming lesson this morning, then home for lunch, got them both to bed, did a bit of clearing up & prep for tea (just sticks & dips) before DD2 woke up (early). Just need to get DD1 up (she HATES being woken up) and we can go play before tea.

I vacuumed everywhere upstairs yesterday, so did my bathroom vents then Grin I have a downstairs loo & sink, so usually do that as the "other" room

Incase you are interested, here's some info on the zones

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 16/01/2012 16:22

Dlamis I have joined the other thread. Thanks for the link.

It might only be temporary money saving though as my car has stopped working.

I will take a look at that zones link, Thanks bessie.
One day I would like to try Flylady properly (zones and missions etc). I am though starting to see an improvement in the downstairs of my house so far.Grin

Eggrules · 16/01/2012 17:46

Black DS doesn't think it looks any different. I was a bit disappointed at first but it seems much better.

My problem is the same as working at home; I am a perfectionist.

Thanks Bessie for the info on zones, very helpful.

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 17:49

That zone page is helpful. Thanks bessie.

We have just had tea. Dd and I loved them. Ds has refused to try it. He as a wrap with cheese in it so he is eating that instead. One day...

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 16/01/2012 18:32

carrots did you like the Leek and potato soup? I forgot to ask you yesterday.

I am just having a Brew then I better go and tidy the kitchen, put away dry washing and hang wet washing.
I also need to try and fit in a shower tonight.

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 18:38

The soup was lovely BlackCat - we must be greedier than you as we ate it all in one meal Shock

I am having a monumental battle getting ds to put on his pyjamas without showing how annoyed I am. Massive patience required...

Evening All

Today has been a complete wash out, no flying, didn't even get out of the hangar. Have been laid up all day with temp, aches, pains sore throat blocked sinuses etc etc. Am starting to feel a bit better now but still feeling a bit rubbish. DS was so lovely this morning though - 'Mummy sad? Mummy tired, es?'.

Sounds as if you've all had very busy days. The muffins were gorgeous carrots although DS wasn't totally convinced - but he did try them which is a big step forward. They went really well with the carrot soup that I'd made and can highly recommend them spread with Philadelphia.

Blackcat, glad to hear that blackkitten settled well at nursery. The first day that I dropped DS at his CM, I was really worried that he would never sleep as he'd always fed to sleep for all sleeps and naps until that point. She texted me at 0930 to say that he'd fallen asleep in her arms peacefully and without protest!! Envy Grin He still wanted feeding when I and my appendages were around though at home! I'm still convinced that the settling in sessions are for the parents and not for the children.

Am in awe of all those who have hoovered their bathroom vents!

Hopefully tomorrow might be a little more productive, sleep well everyone.

Eggrules · 16/01/2012 19:33

Cairnterrier - not a washout, zones will be back around again. Just chillax and join in when you feel better. Here's a Brew

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 20:19

Poor you Cairnterrier Sad That sounds horrid. I agree with Egg - the zones will still be there when you feel better and it will all come around again.

Be kind to yourself and relax on the sofa tonight.

there will be plenty of time for zone work later! Babysteps, babysteps, babysteps!!

it's menu planning & shopping list time again arrrghh!

Scout19075 · 16/01/2012 20:49

Evening!

It's good to hear that BlackKitten settled okay, BlackCat. I agree, settling in days are probably more for parents than babies. Toddler went to nursery for six days/36 hours total when he was 9/10 months old (I was granted funding at the start of my medical treatment which was when it was anticipated I'd have the most violent reactions). I cried every day I dropped him off but he was always smiley at the teachers in the baby room. I sent him in with a disposable camera (which I was told I was allowed to) and they took some great pictures of him doing new things/eating with food all over his face/painting/napping. Does your nursery do anything like that?

Hope you feel better soon, cairn. Being sick is no fun.

My menu plan for this week has been thrown out the window so I need to start again. Good thing i didn't do the shopping yet!

carrotsandcelery · 16/01/2012 20:54

The dcs love nursery generally. Dd had to go at about 10 months or so as I had to go back to work. She was the first in and the last out and would fall asleep with her face in her pasta in her high chair but she LOVED it.

I would get back to the car and cry my eyes out and have to phone the nursery to make sure she was ok.

She was fine. It was me who found it hard.

bessie dh loved the beany fajitas. Thank you for the recipe. It is a healthy one, cheap one and easy one so I will definitely make it again.
