Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/02/2012 21:29

Hi all - we are all lurgied here and feeling rubbish. The boys aren't sleeping very well either so the combination has left DH and I completely flattened. He is off on a stag weekend this weekend, and I'm going to my parents so that they can look after the boys while I sleep

We are getting a few jobs ticked off though, paperwork is all filed and up to date and the shredding is done which has been on the to-do list for about a year!!

JKS - how is DS2?

JKSLtd · 15/02/2012 21:35

Thanks Ali - he's fine, thankfully, no signs of anything else odd going on, so we're trying to be chilled whilst watching his every move Hmm

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/02/2012 21:59

Poor little chap, although I suppose he isn't really aware because he's so young still? Worse for you and DH I'm sure. ((hugs))

AnonymousBird · 16/02/2012 09:05

Oh Ali, so sorry to hear the lurgy has got you. It's truly vile isn't it? It's two whole weeks since my dose started and I still have really bad sinus pain and a hacking cough....that said, the rest of the family seem to have got through it now, so it's only me that is being slow to recover.....!

can't decide what to do today. Looks like it might be dry and not too cold, so really feel like we should get out and about. Have promised the children a trip into Cambridge this half term so it's today or tomorrow.... ugh. Half term in the city... Confused. We are such country bumpkins!

JKSLtd · 16/02/2012 11:29

Ali - that's true he doesn't know anything about any of it, he's happy enough today but coming out in what looks like a bad case of hives Confused maybe reacting to something from soft play yesterday??
DH has got a GP appt later to check him over. He is itching a bit, what's good to put on hives?

Anon - I still have a hacking session first thing when i wake up, nice. Everyone else seems to be over it quicker than me too. DD is teething big time now, being very good with it bless her, but she's normally toatlly happy so to see her grumpy is unusual. And very dribbly - must change her top in a mo!

Thurs:

  • social worker (10am) DONE
  • GP for DS2 (12)
  • toy shop trip with DS1 with Christmas money
  • poss soft play?

Ongoing:

  • watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started; Done more
  • family tree (scanning in old certs & photos & email new contact)
  • buy some frames that will hang on the wall & hang up as many photos as poss; need some sizes
  • sort iPhoto on laptop; Book Genius appt
  • bathroom cabinet needs sorting
  • Spring Cleaning: sort through bedding
  • lose weight! (From: 66kg; Target: 54kg); Scales said 63.9 (oops back to 42.3 after weekend away)
  • book bowling for orchestra social; Have emailed committee
  • sort wills
  • toys needs a good sorting out (have put up some new shelves, may need to get some more storage boxes)

  • finish resorting kitchen crap stuff
JKSLtd · 16/02/2012 20:18

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/02/2012 23:47

JKS did the GP give you anything for him? I would just use some E45 or something like that if you have some and the itching is bothering him.

Anon - it just goes on doesn't it? I've had this over a week now, and I'm getting worse not better! DH held the fort this morning and I slept until almost lunchtime (hence still being awake now...) Hope you are over it properly soon.
I love Cambridge, my brother was at uni there and I used to love going to visit. Bit chilly for punting just at the moment though!!

Both boys have now got loads of gunk coming out of their eyes, really bizarre. This is where grandparents who are also drs comes in v.handy, they will sort them out when I go down there tomorrow.

JKSLtd · 17/02/2012 14:15

ALi - the GP prescribed some piriton which worked pretty quickly (or the rash went on its own) either way, it's gone now with no excessive sleepiness from the piriton which i was mildly concerned about.
The last (only) time he had piriton was to ease scratching from the head bandage around his wires pre-op - and it stopped his seizures. We were even questioning if the op should go ahead when his doc said apparently it can work on seizures but the effect is short-lived. Still, wish we could have given him some sooner or for longer if we'd known.

Had fun play at church hall - brainwave of friend of mine; book church hall at not much ££ per hour, we take toys our kids like, bring along food (or order pizza in like today), mums sit down drink tea eat cake, etc. Kids play. Brilliant Grin
Though one of the other boys mums brought light sabres today..not my fave choice of toy for a busy hall!

Rest of today:

  • laundry; empty machine & put another load on
  • film for DS1
  • Lakeland order
  • kids tea & tidy up, bath & bed
  • our dinner & bed

Morning'
Sorry to here about the allergic reaction for your ds JKS. I get hives regularly in reaction to foods so often have to take anti-histamine, i would not put anything on it, i find creams make the itching worse, even antihysan. Just keep it cool. Weird it happening at soft play though.

Food Shopping
Clear kitchen
Sort out diary
Office ( which is now smelling better)
Tidy
Blah blah blah
order more ah

FreakoidOrganisoid · 20/02/2012 10:32

We've all been lurgied too, had a very quiet half term because of it but it was definitely what we needed. I'm still coughing quite a bit but better than I was, it's at least a productive cough now, before I just had a really tight chest and felt awful.

Was asked this morning to work at preschool this afternoon, was meant to be seeing the boy for a couple of hours but have cancelled him. He was very nice about it and non stressy/guilt trippy which gives him another tick Smile And I am disappointed not to be seeing him which I also think is a good sign...

So today need to do
Daily stuff - Just need to hoover then the mornng stuff is done
Strip my bed - DONE
Wash bedding - DOING
Disinfect cat tray -
Work -
Look for jobs online -
Remake my bed

I know anon, am out of the listing habit! BUT the basics have all still been done which shows how much this thread has helped me get a routine going Smile

Can you give your opinions on my dress please thread here

AnonymousBird · 20/02/2012 18:21

Freaki - I love the dress, it's gorgeous! I'm with you that orange might not be an obvious choice, but the outcome is pretty good I think! Where did you find it? I desperately need a new dress - have a party on Saturday and everyone is going to be quite blinged up I suspect (it is Essex after all!) and although that is so not me, I still need to make an effort.... Confused.

I got my ironing done!!!! There was 10 days plus of stuff in that pile, clothes I had almost forgotten I had! Phew.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 20/02/2012 18:38

Anon it was h&m and half price so only £12 something. Most of my dresses are from dorothy perkins I think.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 20/02/2012 18:50

(oh it is polyester by the way but feels/looks nice and I don't mind the odd bit of polyester as long as it doesn't have sleeves Grin)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/02/2012 19:04

Freaki that dress is gorgeous - I agree with whoever on your thread said about perhaps a coral blusher if you normally go for something on the pinky scale, and I would keep any lipgloss or lipstick very nude. Are you going anywhere nice?
Very good sign that Boy didn't get weird with you about today, I really think that one of the most important things in a relationship is being able to be straightforward with each other and no games and second-guessing. And good that you are disappointed Wink

I have been lame at listing. Really lame. But tomorrow will be a different story because DH is working after his leisurely start to the year so I need to be better!! Grin

AnonymousBird · 20/02/2012 19:18

OOooo, now we are over the lurgy I am back on my HFW Veg cooking frenzy. Two more meals to try this week - whoever it was (Freaki?) who was thinking about getting the book then DO IT! if you haven't already, it is just so good. £9 on Amazon at the mo I think.....

JKSLtd · 20/02/2012 19:19
