RE Organisation thread - Some of those ladies are immensely organised but I do think it is a shame that all this sort of stuff is done mainly by women whether SAHM or working or whatever and the blokes probably don't even realise (disclaimer - DH is pretty good around the house).

OP posts:
AnonymousBird · 03/01/2012 13:23

HMHB - I could not agree more!

Despite appearances, I am actually, mostly, fairly organised and as a result, because everything is quite "smooth" it seems to DH I think that there is very little to making our lives run well...... (and yes, my DH is also good around the house).

Little does he know! He has absolutely no realisation of what I do day to day. not that he is oblivious or unappreciative, he just genuinely does not actually know.

Like yesterday, I had a quiet hour whilst the DC were watching a film so I sat, with the school calendar and all the clubs and activities and spent an hour plugging it all on the computer for now until Easter. He was staggered that I was doing this and could not believe the number of entries and all the colour coding etc (ha ha, check me Mrs Organised! Wink). He just said "grief, is that really a typical week?" So I said, yup, you bet. And that's only the start of it - only the scheduled ahead stuff, not even the stuff that comes up week on week....

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 03/01/2012 13:28

Go Anon - well done for letting him know what you do. I find my DH is very good at listing all he does (e.g. take xmas lights down, make tea etc. ) so I have to remember what I do is also important (get DD to CM, go to work, book holidays etc. ). Top tip - back up all the stuff you just put in as it would be a nightmare if you lost it!!!

I have just looked at the organisation thread again and I have a strong sense that I am horribly behind. Where is my list????

Hello
Just marking spot for now
Will attempt to come back and list regularly though

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/01/2012 13:57

HMHB that is a good point. In our house I do it all because I am a SAHM, so I have the time. DH is pretty good around the house, but I know that if I also worked then I would still do all the organising because he is just awful at it. Grin

Dp does nealry everything here - all cleaning except the bathroom, all bill paying, all washing. I work full time and he works part time. I do the Sainsbo's order but he does any additional food shopping needed, all of the washing up and some of the cooking (although I do more cooking).

HalfMum - He says that the paint brand is something like Polycel.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 03/01/2012 20:39

FestiveOrganisoid · 04/01/2012 11:04

Doing ok on the daily stuff so far today, still need to mop the kitchen floor and hoover upstairs but that's about it/

Have big tesco shop arriving in next hour, and have meal planned for the fortnight Shock

But have two massive Areas of Doom:
Coursework
Thank you cards

Really hanging over me so will try to crack on.

And not get distracted by sorting out the toys. Although the dc bedroom is very cluttered and is annoying me it has less of a deadline so I am trying to ignore it for now.

Fuzzpig you ok?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/01/2012 11:12

Morning all - at work today but its fairly quiet so not too bad

Hope you feel a bit more upbeat soon fuzzpig
Glad you are feeling better mini
