a kindle and a smart phone carrots? You lucky thing! Grin The homeroutines website suggests it's only for apple gizmos - suggest you do a new post asking for a good app for android.

I'm sticking with my spreadsheet for now. I did like the homeroutines app, but it wasn't very good for carrying tasks over from one day to the next, like if I didn't change the kids bedsheets on a sunday, it didn't remind me to do it on the monday. I have been printing it off & leaving it on the side in the kitchen, incase DH gets the urge to do anything (he hasn't yet, but that's probably because he's always washing up!)

I've washed one load & just put it into the dryer. I'm having a Brew, and maybe another straight after. We're going out for lunch with ILs (pizza express ) so need to get organised for that now.

Eggrules · 08/01/2012 11:32

Thank feck for flylady and motivation.

Mr Egg's uncle called an hour ago to borrow tools. We were dressed and the house acceptable - at 10:30am on a Sunday that is not usually the case. We live in a different city to our home town (where everybody else lives) and so this was totally out of the blue.

Love my kindle too.

Clothes in dryer. Roast and crumble for dinner. All good here.

Eggrules · 08/01/2012 11:36

Enjoy Pizza Express bessie. In other news I have started an intermittent diet. Love the 500 cal pizzas.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 08/01/2012 11:39

We have had a Mass decluttering session here. Grin

The understairs cupboard and kitchen drawers have been cleared of junk, cardboard, old newspapers etc, etc.

I room rescued the living room, (sort of).

Next we are having lunch then we better make a trip to the recycling centre.

A good sleep definitely makes a lot of difference! Grin

its cold and very grey here but the girls are full of beans so going to lob them out in the back garden on the trampoline for a bit,ds can lay quietly on the sofa and i have no kids underfoot hampering progress!will report back in a bit

carrotsandcelery · 08/01/2012 13:24

I got a pair of boots as well bessie (from my parents) and a bottle of perfume from the dcs too.

The phone was a tiny bit of a cheat though as it came free with the contract that he set up which costs the same as topping up my pay as you go phone has always cost him. I still appreciate it and the time and effort though as he had to do some research to get a cheap deal. Grin

live that sounds a pain in the neck and quite traumatic too. I imagine with quite a few mouths to feed it would be even worse on a fee shuttle bus. We live rurally so a taxi to the supermarket would be outrageously expensive. I do remember having to pack my shopping into a rucksack to take it on the bus though as I wasn't allowed to drive when I was expecting ds (low blood pressure fainting issues) and that, with a toddler, was stressful enough. Dh ended up having to go after work as I got more pregnant I couldn't lift the rucksack onto my back. Blush

Dh has unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher.

I have listed 5 big items onto ebay (dh found the cable in 20 secs) - they belong to the dcs so it will be their winnings, not mine, but it is a start back into ebaying.

Flying does make a huge difference to those unannounced guest situations. It makes you feel more on top of things too.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 08/01/2012 14:18

I have stopped for a coffee Brew break.

I still need to do my laundry! Blush
That had better be my next job.

carrotsandcelery · 08/01/2012 14:25

Hi BlackCat my second load of laundry it hung up but not much else has happened, although I have listed another item on ebay (remembered ds's Beavers Sweatshirt) so hopefully that will eventually be another item out of the house.

Dh has had to go into work which means I have to take the dcs with me to walk the dog and buy some basic groceries. This is proving a problem as ds is refusing to get dressed.

We have also realised we need to be at the hospital at 9am tomorrow which will mean having the dcs ready for school and dropped at my dparents by about 7.30am, which means leaving the house at 7.10. Not a total shocker apart from the fact we haven't been able to get up for the last 2 weeks so it will be a total wrench. On the plus side it will make Tues morning feel like a lie in. Anyway, if there is a night that I need flylady then it is tonight!

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 08/01/2012 14:39

Hi Carrots, My DS is sometimes like that at the weekends (refusing to get dressed). Hmm It's o.k if we don't need to go out but if we do then it takes a bit of nagging!

Good luck with tomorrow morning, that is very early to have to be out of the house! Shock I struggle with 8.40am and that will soon have to change to around 8.30am when DD starts nursery properly Shock

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 14:55

carrots when one mine refuses to get dressed we compromise(as long not going anywhere we take coats off) pj top switch botoms or joggers over the top
managed a third load washing(where does it all come fromSad)
cleaned kitchen surface.....can know see all way from shiny drainer and sink to the wall at the far end with only a toaster and kettle obscuring lovely clean worktopGrin
3mins til a batch date and apricot low sugar flapjacks are ready...house is wafting with oaty lovliness!ha ha

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 15:00

am now stopping for a brief break and a strawberry friji milkshake

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 08/01/2012 15:02

Well done on your washing and clean worktops livein.

I am sat here having a tea now, someone give me a boot!

redlac · 08/01/2012 15:16

I've washed the kitchen floor, hung one load of washing and put another load in the wash, folded away clothes off the clothes horse, started dinner and had a cuppa and a wee play on the kinect.

Scout19075 · 08/01/2012 15:18

I am treating myself to a quick computer game before going back at it again.

Didn't get the washing up finished last night due to on-coming migraine and opted for sleep instead of scrubbing pots. Pots finished this morning while TS had his breakfast.

So far have finished:
Sat's pots
Putting dinner on (slow cooker)
Groceries (menu planning, shopping list, shopping, putting away)
Trimming TS's nails (a joy reserved for weekends as I need MrScout to hold him down to do it neatly)
Bathed TS
Showered sans TS (hey, that's a feat, honestly) & sorted out my fringe problem
Decluttered bedroom, 10 minutes

Still to do:
Take out trash & recycling from kitchen
Empty nappy bin and take to outside bin
Kitchen declutter, 15 minutes
Put non-curbside recycleables into car (glass and large flatten cardboard boxes from recently received packages)
Sort out Senior stuff (list of about four things to do)
Today's washing up
Iron work shirts for week

Bit bummed to see this week's zone is kitchen since I have an all-in-one and I was getting tired of it. However, decided I'd focus on clearing out the cabinets and drawers as my decluttering.

Good luck for tomorrow, carrots.

Black, here's a very small (size 3) boot for you. Grin

Mmmm, live, those sound yummy!

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 15:20

blackcat here comes my size 6 in your direction with a gentle nudge to itSmile
ds awake and requesting cuddles so am halted in full swing for a bitSad
carrotsi had low blood pressure in my pregnancys...no1 else i know had that and all i got was it s better than having high.maybe...but fainting suddenly isnt exactly the highlight of being pregnant is it?!

bessie26 · 08/01/2012 16:04

live can I have your recipe please? DD1 loves eating my apricot geo-bars!

We are running late because we got home from lunch late. Just having a Brew before we go wake the DDs up. DD1 hates being woken up & will be very grumpy. Luckily DH will deal with her while I wake & feed DD2!Grin

Someone asked the other day why it was called "frosty stew"? It's because the original author used to make it in the winter (when the ground was frosty)

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 16:32

bessiethat was me that asked about the stew!
date and apricot flapjacks
50g/2oz sunflower margarine
75g/3oz dark muscavado sugar
225g/8oz porridge oats
50g/2oz dates, chopped and destoned if nec
50g/2oz dried apricots,chopped
4tbsp sunflower/rapeseed oil

preheat oven 180oc/350of/gas 4.line 30x20cm/12x8" tin with baking paper
melt marg and sugar in a pan over a low heat
add remaining ingredients and mix well
press into tin and bake 30mins
cool for 10 mins then mark into slices.leave to cool in the tin

ive also made these using 3oz apricots and 1oz chopped chrystalized ginger

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 16:35

my blender packed up yesterday and they didnt have any at morisons today.ds throat very sore and planned to make soup..if i grated carrots and parsnips would they make a fairly smoothish soup without blending when cooked.if not any other suggestions.i dont have a food processor

bessie26 · 08/01/2012 16:46

Thanks for the recipe live. How about attacking the cooked soup with a potato masher?

redlac · 08/01/2012 16:47

That should work live prob won't be as smoot but you could maybe give it a mash down if needed. I have to blend soup for my DH cos he "doesn't like lumpy bits" Hmm but it means I can hide lots of veg in the soup.

Whats everyone having for dinner? I'm doing meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti and crusty rolls mmmm

liveinazoo · 08/01/2012 16:51

aah a masher!genius ideaGrin
redlac ive got a lump hater....does allow for extra veg smuggling they dont usually eat thoughWink
looks like im doin a root veg and chickpea soup

Scout19075 · 08/01/2012 18:06

We're having slow cooker sweet & sour chicken w/rice. Toddler's gone on a chicken strike and even though he didn't know what's for dinner requested toast. I don't think he's feeling well (cold from Christmas slowed down but has sped back up again) and I think he's swallowing a lot of cold cr@p. He had toast, a bit of chicken, and a yogurt.

Massive arguement disagreement with MrScout over state of house and my plan/s of attack. Am going to do just put all of his cr@p stuff in bags and put them on his pillow. Someone please reassure me I'm doing the right thing by attacking my house. I feel good about what I've accomplished even if I've only been flying for a week.

carrotsandcelery · 08/01/2012 18:26

live great recipe - thank you. Ds has to have extra snacks during the day at school which need to be high calorie. I try to make them as natural and healthy as I can despite the calorie requirement. I make a lot of low sugar oat laden banana muffins so this will make a pleasant change for us both.

I was so tempted to take him out in his all in one fleece sleep suit in the hopes the shame would make him more cooperative in the future Grin Instead I left and went out and started the car - sudden swift movement of clothes ensued. I was not in the mood for shouting.

The random fainting was a total pain as was the feeling like I was doing everything through treacle. I don't miss it one little bit.

Scout
a) tell me more about your fringe problem because I am nosey.
b) that sounds much like the tactic I employed with dh. He thought I had gone a bit Hmm when I started flying but soon was on board when he saw how much calmer and pleasant life was. Hopefully your dh will be converted soon too. YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING.

Does anyone know where Angel has gone? Sad
