Roll up, roll up. tis the month of school fetes, sports days and annual reports. In all this flurry of extra activities and with the summer holidays hurtling towards us at rapid speed, now is the time to tame the chaos before our very special chaos creators are able to help us. Fully intending to beat the Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome so that my personal chaos creator can be occupied by others this holiday. Good luck to all to are also striving to achieve this.

Starting from the 1st of the month we shall be fluttering our way to tamed houses. If you are new to the system it is recommend that you focus on making the babysteps your main focus. The babysteps will build up to form routines to help you to stay on top of the house once you have discovered it. First step is to shine your sink. But not just half heartidly, deep clean til it shines Instructions here

For the more established flyer we then progress onto decluttering. 15mins each day in alloted zone of the week. New zones each week. and current zones and decluttering instructions can be found here Zones will automatically update for July.

As for the advanced flyer, there are missions to do each day in the current zone

We have one rule we are NOT perfectionists anything is better then nothing, real life gets in the way and we have to do other stuff other then cleaning (put it on your list, tick it off and :) ), besides the fat fairy's moto is "You are never behind"

As such take the vomit inducing cuteness of the website with a pinch of salt, and join us for wish lists formally to do lists , ta da lists and home bleurghs. Wink

See you bright and early tomo although hopefully not too bright and early.

Grin

well....am feeling totally shattered...
shopping however was successful. Managed to get a lovely dress for dd1 in amazingly the first shop we went in Shock Grin Also managed to take dd2 to spend her birthday/saved up pocket money to get her Nintendo dsi xl, so she is chuffed. Grin now lets see what have I managed from list:

Cook roast gammon for dinner done
Lots of clean washing away done mostly
sort through girls wardrobes and do some decluttering done
organise all items needed for dd4 and me for school trip tomorrow next
ensure dd2 has required items for her school trip tomorrow done
tidy littlies room done
nag pursuade girls to tidy their room done
hoover and dust bedrooms not done

sadly however the belt on the hoover has gone AGAIN arrrgggh so had to abandon hoovering......

need to finish sorting all stuff for trip tomorrow next.

Am actually going to try and do some zone work this week....we have 3 bathrooms(well one main bathroom, ensuite shower room and downstairs toilet) and they all need some good cleaning!

now need to go organise and sort dd4...will be back in a bit....

NickNacks · 10/07/2011 19:45

It's ok disaster was avoided!

I came home with one very small box of treasure and my wedding dress hoop. She had about 5 more big boxes of soft toys, dollies, general junk(!) which i told her she could chuck.

A few small jobs left to do tonight....

sweep dining room
wipe down table
lay out uniforms
hoover
load DW
take rubbish out
mop kitchen floor
sort two picture hooks out
put tool box away

Thanks CHB for the linkies and since bathroom is not my job in this house i will be spending another week on my kitchen! la la

night all!

OverflowingMum · 10/07/2011 20:04

sc lovely impressive list of gardening and baking.....
chb also V impressive list, what training is it that DS and/or you are up to? Sounds energetic anyway LOL
mc where are you going on your trip? Hope you enjoy
niknaks that looks a big list to me never mind " a few small jobs" but then I am not an evening person .... if it isnt done by 7pm here it most likely will wait till the morning!

ColdHeartedBellatrix · 10/07/2011 20:18

I pm-ed you OFM. [hsmile]

NickNacks · 10/07/2011 20:22

Oh well OverflowingMum usually that is my stance but I'm a CM so can't really welcome children in with dinner dishes still out and tool boxes lying around. I'd rather do it now and get a few more minutes in bed in the morning. :)

PositiveAttitude · 10/07/2011 21:05

Evening ladies Smile,

Just popping my head in the door to tell you all that I am around, but RL is being a bit crap and lots going on, not leaving a lot of time or energy for mn-ing, let alone any flying! A broken, bruised (physically and emotionally) nearly 20 year old DD1 is now living back at home. Sad (not Sad that she is here, just the circumstances that have led to it!)

House is heading for CHAOS and I had plans of it all being perfect for the lovely family coming to stay here when we are on holiday! Chances are ever diminishing!! Blush

Sorry for lack of personal messages, but a huge thank you to you all for the lovely thoughts when life all went a bit wrong last Thursday night. You are all a lovely bunch!! Grin

I will probably be back with a panic list within a few days.

elliepac · 10/07/2011 21:10

Evening all. Only a quick flyby from me before i go and get a bath. Have been quite good today. Loads of tidying up and washing. Changed beds, cleaned bathroom and cooked dinner. Have also laid all clothes out for the morning, made packed lunches and packedbags.

We have had a lovely weekend chez elliepac. Very relaxing after the last few weekends of mayhem. Last night we had a bbq and spent some proper family time in the garden until quite late. It was lovely. Today we have had DN to play this morning. This is the first time she has been over on her own BIL and SIL are rather precious and won't let their little darling out of their sight and previous offers for her to come round have been rejected which is a shame as there is only a year between her and DS and she is the only non-step cousin my two have. We have made a concerted effort to keep asking and it finally paid offSmile. We took them to the local park and then for a stomp (to quote chb) in the local woods and a thoroughly marvellous time was had by all.

This afternoon i have indulged in some retail therapy for me. Nothing too exciting, just some dresses for me, but i never seem to buy anything for me. I saw 2 i like and bought both Shock.

We then relaxed and watched Happy Feet and had a picnic in the living room ( we were going to bbq again but the wweather put paid to that!).

Anyway, really am going for a bath now. Big waves to everyone. I going to try really hard to get back on track with babysteps this week..... Starting tomorrow Grin.

Makingchanges · 10/07/2011 21:26

Evening all -I am feeling arghhhh tonight. If someone was to upset me, they would get my full force. Fed up at DH for mess he made this morning which took ages to clear up. Fed up at DD who has taken an hour to get to bed and not tidied away most of her toys. Lounge looks like a bomb site. Also fed up with DDs friends who just can't play nice.

DH is still not home. Saw him for less than an hour yesterday and aiming for same today - What happened to family days!!!

Well Some of DDs decluttering done and kitchen tidied. Also listed some of my uni books to sell and sold an old phone as well as some of my old CDs (on a money making mission - Uni has taken its toll financially and no sign of a job on the horizon.)

OFM Off to Sundown adventureland tomorrow with DD (Or Pets Corner as I remember it)

Found out my Sony E-reader - Bought it years ago when it was first launched but never used it. GOing to try and get it to work cos I think it will have to do in the place of a much coverted kindle at the moment.

Off to find some alcohol and chocolate to lift my mood - back tomorrow

neverputasockinatoaster · 10/07/2011 21:46

Well, I came down with DD's lurgy and have only achieved a small amount.
List looks like this:
Washing out of machine and put to dry done (twice)
New load of washing in done (also twice)
Put away dry clothes.... it rained so none are dry yet....
Popping to Staples done
Making poster done
Soup making done
Slow cooker done
Hot spot clearance Blush
Stuff in loft..... handed over to OH who has not done it
Ironing.... achieved OH's work clothes and that is all
Cooking dinner... felt too crappy to cook so OH got us a chinese
Wash up done once but pots left from take away
Shine sink Blush

Tomorrow's list? Who knows! But the sink will be on there for sure!

OverflowingMum · 10/07/2011 21:48

oh wow mc that is where we are goingShock Shock!!!! I will wander round all day wondering if I've seen you LOL Hope you have a good day - I'll wave randomly at any passers by that I think may be you LOL

OverflowingMum · 10/07/2011 21:50

neverout sorry to hear your unwell, hope it passes quickly
mc I am also feeling quite easily annoyed tonight....not sure why... hope you feel better when you wake up (although after a day trudging round Sundown we may feel worse again!)

BlueEyeshadow · 10/07/2011 22:32

Not a lot achieved here this w/e although plans for the kitchen are coming on nicely. Tomorrow is shopping, laundry and playing with trying to keep my temper with the boys day.

Glad you've had a good w/e ellie - sounds great.

I love my ereader MC although it's the latest version. For my purposes I think it's better than a kindle. Hope you can get yours working!

More hugs and Biscuit / Wine - whichever you prefer! - to PA.

Very impressive list SC although I'll happily leave the butterflies to you!

Well done on only keeping a small box NickNacks I'm sure I'd have brought tons back...

Anyway, waves to all. Good night!

Makingchanges · 11/07/2011 00:33

Its taken me three hours to get my ereader working. Mainly cos the software was clashing with other software on my PC - Grrr

I'll be easy to spot OFM - Frazzled looking 31 year old with a sweet adorable 5 year old in public but a little rascal on her own looking like she has had no sleep. (Or a really excited 31 year old cos I haven't been to Pet's corner since I was a child and I'm more excited than DD)

I always think that Mumsnetters should have a secret code word or something. You realise that we live reasonably near, you work around the corner from my house, our lifes may cross lots of time but we will never know - How strange is that.

Ok I'm rambling - Off to bed

ColdHeartedBellatrix · 11/07/2011 04:03

Good morning. Couldnt sleep in the end so spent a few hours transferring, revamping and sorting out contents of a file to a new larger more extensive file.

Also have been taking stock of the situation and have a list of must be done by thursday stuff.

I am adding sleep to today's wish list and will probably pass out later. No point crashing now as my alarm goes off in about 2mins. And the day doesn't look too promising weather wise. However, going to sneak a quick power nap in as have decided 30mins less training and 30mins sleep will be more beneficial.

Have good days...

elliepac · 11/07/2011 06:03

I only live about 40 mins drive, if that, from Sundown Shock. i want to come. Damn work, we could have had a little meet up. I love that place. Reminds me of being a small child. We used to call it the Trampoline Park as, before the days when everyone had one, they were the best thing there!

My kids absolutely love it. They do a brilliant meet Father Christmas thing as well. Have a wonderful day ofm and mc.

I am going to start as i mean to go on today which means i am not going to sit around drinking coffee now DH has gone to work. I am going to do stuff.

OverflowingMum · 11/07/2011 07:05

morning all

mc I will look out for you...maybe I should have a feather duster sticking out the top of my rucksack or something LoL
EC will think of you too....
maybe we should have a meet up there sometime when not on school trip schedules!

Right, up and at it early here....also very excited about trip LOL (am using a days anula leave to go after all - and was only allowed that as I had booked it before other doc keft as not allowed any more leave till Aug now!)

bags packed...
washing hung out, second load in
emailed ds1 teacher to say he can come home straight from sports day ( he forgot to get me to sign form!)

need to:
hang washing out
S&S bathrooms
get kids up (now!)
suncream all
remember to go into school to check date of leavers assembly (apparently that is different to and in addition to leavers mass....sigh...)

must dash....BBL Grin

Pameladej · 11/07/2011 08:15

Pamela, I used to get the emails, but they can be overwhelming. You'll get all the information you'll need here on the daily post by CHB. (I had to stop them when she was emailing everyone telling them to stop their cholesterol medication. Hmm, statins are why my patients don't die quite as early as they used to. Will get off soapbox now!) I've got a baby as well, although he's a little older than yours.

Ihatecobwebs, I hate them too. You've got a busy day ahead!

overflowingmum, are you a doctor too? I always get excited when I spot doctors around here. Do you also post at the other place? We definitely need codewords, makingchanges!

elliepac, I'm with you there. DH has gone to work so I've done my 'upstairs jobs' and need to crack on. My DS appears to be dropping his morning nap so not sure how much I will get done compared to how many times I'll read "Dear Zoo" this morning, so best get going.

Ta da
Get dressed
Bedrooms
Bathroom
Hall (where lots of things collect to up or downstairs)
Weekly Home Blessing (done early on Saturday with my DH because we had 25 for lunch yesterday)

To do
Post-breakfast clear-up (BLW is a bit messy!)
Laundry
Prepare lunch
Prepare dinner
Shine sink
Zone: Study
Kelly's Mission
Emails
Handwashing
Wash Dyson filter

There are plenty of other things I could and should be doing, but best to have a short list and finish it all, I hope!

swanriver · 11/07/2011 09:38

Computer still very erratic and slow, so it's taken me again 20 mins to log on.

Sorry for no Roundup yesterday, looks like we needed one, as everyone had done so much Grin

Quite inspiring to read, as I now realise I spent most of the weekend feeling in a tremendous SULK with family life. Children are pretty awful at moment, dh can't walk far because of his foot, house unbearably cluttered, and DH in general won't come to any decisions about anything without flying into a rage. Negative spirals and all that jazz..Sad

However I did clean the kitchen thoroughly (dh complained bitterly that I was ruining the atmosphere by cleaning it - if I hadn't I think I would have exploded!), and I don't feel quite as defeated as I do normally with the MOnday Home Bless Hmm

Busy busy day ahead, can't get my head around it, I just know it is filling me with dread.
Todo
Car problems in Eire, being rung by over officious car dealers.
Pick up Sewing machine on bus
Singing ds1 (final practice before musical)
Musical at school
ballet lesson
get ds to do his project [aargh]
cleaning lady is coming briefly so I have to wait in/tidy upstairs which is horrendous, as well as going out to pick up sewing machine Confused
library work - when am I going to fit it in? Sad
Take dd to Barnes to therapy session this afternoon(she needs it)

And a lady whose elderly mother needs to go to appt at 3.00 has just buttonholed me at school gate if her child can come to our house again this afternoon, like last week..She is anlovely girl, just not a familiar prescence and I'm back and forth most of the afternoon(how am I going to fit in ds1's project?????), so this has added to feelings of tension.

Right, tidy dd's bedroom now..

swanriver · 11/07/2011 09:43

And last time girl came to our house, she didn't pick her up till 7.30 (no phonecall either), whilst leading me to believe she would collect her at 5.30..so this time I had to say in what I felt was a very unfriendly manner that 6.00 was the latest I could manage..And felt guilty because of elderly mother, and lady is Armenian so English protocols may not be obvious.

oh dear, I need to get a Life don't I? Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/07/2011 09:56

Phew, I have my house back to myself. DD's ballet show last night, so we had both sets of GPs over (one lot staying the night, plus dog) plus DH and his best friend (also staying the night) back from the British GP with a car load of dirty laundry, tents, pillows etc. Now, having 7 people plus a dog overnight in the (small 3-bed 1 bathroom) house on a school night would have thrown me into a sheer blind panic pre-Flying, but thanks to my routines it has all gone very smoothly indeed, the DCs were despatched to school on time and with all the necessary items.

The show was fabulous, I am a very proud Mummy. DD danced beautifully (as did all the others) and I still feel quite emotional, seeing her on a big theatre stage. DS, who is usually very reluctant to sit still in theatres, cinemas etc behaved beautifully too and watched the whole thing attentively. However they were both bouncing off the walls till about 11pm last night (we didn't get home till 10), so they will probably crash later.

Unfortunately DH pranged his car on the way to the GP, scraped and dented all his side panels on a parked car, it's insured, but it will be quite a hit on excesses, increased premium, plus the approved repairer is miles away, so lots of faffing about. grrr.

Anyway, I have done a thorough clean up of the kitchen, emptied and refilled the DW, put on some washing, I'm now off to investigate the big carrier bag of sweets and crisps DH dumped on the kitchen table for goodies. Back later.
