Roll up, roll up. tis the month of school fetes, sports days and annual reports. In all this flurry of extra activities and with the summer holidays hurtling towards us at rapid speed, now is the time to tame the chaos before our very special chaos creators are able to help us. Fully intending to beat the Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome so that my personal chaos creator can be occupied by others this holiday. Good luck to all to are also striving to achieve this.

Starting from the 1st of the month we shall be fluttering our way to tamed houses. If you are new to the system it is recommend that you focus on making the babysteps your main focus. The babysteps will build up to form routines to help you to stay on top of the house once you have discovered it. First step is to shine your sink. But not just half heartidly, deep clean til it shines Instructions here

For the more established flyer we then progress onto decluttering. 15mins each day in alloted zone of the week. New zones each week. and current zones and decluttering instructions can be found here Zones will automatically update for July.

As for the advanced flyer, there are missions to do each day in the current zone

We have one rule we are NOT perfectionists anything is better then nothing, real life gets in the way and we have to do other stuff other then cleaning (put it on your list, tick it off and :) ), besides the fat fairy's moto is "You are never behind"

As such take the vomit inducing cuteness of the website with a pinch of salt, and join us for wish lists formally to do lists , ta da lists and home bleurghs. Wink

See you bright and early tomo although hopefully not too bright and early.

Grin

The new thread is here.

It's going to be a busy w/e so I'll be back with the first round-up on Monday. :)

Toffee - I wouldn't go on that ride either! I like rollercoasters, but I can't stand those swing boats. DH went on it with his leg all strapped up though.

Linzer - hope your DS cheers up. DS1 is prone to that sort of infuriating mind-changing too, so sympathies!

I've finished my work, so I'm off for a cuppa and then tackling tea and planning.

elliepac · 29/07/2011 17:46

Evening all!

Quite a productive day again today but a little wierd!

Ta da list:-

Town for bits and bobs
General tidy
Washing away
Washing on
Ironing
DS room
S/S bathroom

DS has actually cleared his room Shock. I told him if he didn't I wouldn't take him to the cinema tomorrow morning Grin. To be fair he has done a really good job, he whacked some music on and got on with it. I can hear him singing to himself as I type.

DD has gone off on her holiday with Dsis and DNiece. I was hoping for a small amount of tears to show she would miss me but not a drop. All I got was a big grin and a big shout of 'bye mummy!'. Dsis even told her to look sad because she was leaving me...it lasted 5 seconds!

I then became a little lost. DS went to play out (we have just started letting him play out on the street with the other children who live on the road and he is revelling in his new found freedom), DD was gone, DH was out at work...I didn't know what to do with myself! That lasted for about 2 minutes when I heard it...that magical thing called silence! So I had a coffee and watched ER Grin.

Better go and get on with washing!

CHBitchy · 29/07/2011 19:39

Enjoy the silence Ellie.

Another flying visit. Sorry for being such a crap leader this month. Will be glad when this month is over and i can discover this thing called sitting. Been out all day. again. Just grabbed shower and off out in a few mins. Its crazy. At least i am discovering some sleep. Need to do some housework/laundry tomo and ring tax credit people hell again.

Have fabulous weekends everyone!

Be back at stupid o'clock for the links.

CHBitchy · 30/07/2011 01:08

Have you all debunked over to the new thread already. that just won't do. tsk.

Linkies:

No missions or zone work as it is the weekend.

Saturday is family fun day

Babystep is to check your calander

LinzerTorte · 30/07/2011 06:37

Just a quick post to say thank you to CHB (and swan, if you're around) for this month's thread. We're going away for a few days (meeting up with some friends from England who are coming over here for their wedding anniversary) and won't be back until Wednesday, so will see you all on next month's thread. Waves to all. Smile

vividgingerchilli · 30/07/2011 07:15

DroitwichMummy, I'm sure I know you.....

Toffeefudgecake · 30/07/2011 09:54

Where are you all? New thread?

Linzer - hope you have a good time away with your friends.

WhoKnows - sorry, but it's cloudy and rainy here on the IOW today. It's meant to brighten up, though, so hopefully it will improve for you. We were going to the beach, but have had to rethink that plan.

Had a more successful day at Robin Hill yesterday. DS went on the swing boat on his own three times Shock. He loved it. That Prozac must be strong stuff! He also loved the toboggan ride. DS2 loved the squirrel tower and treetop walk. However, he is going through a whiny phase at the moment, which is really testing our patience. It's weird - as one child gets easier, the other one gets trickier Confused. Or maybe we just hadn't had the energy to notice before.

DH has gone off to explore a bit, whilst I get b/fasts. Also, I am doing some little Flylady jobs as a thank you to PA for letting us have her house Smile.

elliepac · 30/07/2011 14:51

I'm here toffee but no flying to report Grin.

Have had a lovely morning with DS. We have been to the cinema, out for lunch, for a haircut and to the supermarket. Might attempt to do something in a bit.....might not Grin. Having said that it's amazing how tidy the house stays in the absence of DD Hmm.

vividgingerchilli am I to take it you are dwm in a cunning disguise Grin?

CHBitchy · 30/07/2011 23:59

Last linkies for the month;

Sunday is pamper yourself day

the final babystep

elliepac · 31/07/2011 07:35

Morning people!

Today is officially 'run around like a headless chicken the day before you go on holiday' dayGrin. Although having said that, i think, for once, i am relatively organised Shock. House is quite tidy so a bit of polishing and vacuuming and i should be sorted. List looks like this:-

Washing
Ironing
Putting away
Polish/vacuum
Clean car out
Clean out cupboard of doom (pantry).
Pack

I do have only a finite time in which to do this. This afternoon we are at the end of year bbq for Ds's scout group and I want to get the majority of stuff done before then.

Have a lovely day everyone. Tis beautiful here. Enjoy it while it lasts. I'm going on holiday tomorrow, it's bound to start raining Grin.

CHBitchy · 31/07/2011 10:01

Right I have to get sorted and will be doing a crisis tidy (cleaning isnt going to happen today it is way way too cluttered). Main targets: master bedroom, ds' bedroom. Also have laundry to do having done none since i got back last weekend.

Here goes with the list:

breakfast
unload dishwasher
reload dishwasher
do pots from yesterday
Laundry
folding
rubbish collection/bin emptying
gather stuff for charity shop and recycling at front door
empty car
hoover car
wash car
hit ds room in 15mins bursts
hit my room in 15 mins bursts.
Find the blue folder of all knowing
update the main this affects ds calander
remove nail varnish

swanriver · 31/07/2011 13:03

I'm still in Ireland (we are returning to London tomorrow).
DRAMA last week. DS1 BROKE HIS ARM IN TWO PLACES FALLING OFF one of those giant round HAYBALEs [grr] on 26th July. 2 days in distant hospital to have it pinned. Dh had to come over to look after other children. I think only OFM will remember that ds1 has so far had two other accidents involving his cousins; broken wrist and then broken femur. So as with all injuries, we are just relieved he didn't break his neck. Obviously not as agile as he should be. Just when we were doing so well on the healthy exercise/eating programme Angry He has a v heavy above elbow to wrist cast so he can't even walk very far without feeling tired out. Anyway, otherwise all is well, and it is a bonus to have DH here after all Grin.

Just done long walk today with other children so that ds1 can come up here to mum's to watch Formula 1.
Various guests wandering in and out of mum and SIS's house, aunts, uncles casual blow-ins etc, 5 15 year olds are camping by the lake, long lost tree surgeon relative has just appeared from The Burren, my sister is writing a screen play, and my mum is rushing around gardening, my Dad has gone bicycling in Aran Isles and come back and my BIL has broken his toe playing cricket. But nevertheless has taken two children to church so a bit of r& r (namely me going on internet).

See you in London!

swanriver · 31/07/2011 13:10

Ds2 watching Formula 1 (sorry, very confusing)
now think I'm escaping back to my DSIs's kitchen to try and catch a cup of coffee.
N.B. Children behaving v.badly both before and after accident (unless cousins present, when all is well!!!!) so it has all been quite wearing - Ds2 Aspergery behaviour has really got much worse, and Ds1 is continuing to set him off, so it is such a relief to have DH here- don't think I can manage solo holidays again Grin

swanriver · 31/07/2011 13:12

Nevertheless, it IS EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL HERE!!! and despite difficulties, a holiday to be remembered Hmm

Bloody hell swan Shock

am glad that ds1 is ok despite the damage. sorry to hear that the pair of them have been misbehaving for you. I expect you will need a holiday from your holiday!

tbh i have found that ds is far worse aspie wise during school holiday's. I deliberately didn't stick to a very strict timetable so that he has to process the fact that things might change a tiny bit as a norm. Unfortunately school doesnt which means holidays come more of a shock. There is just no way i can work to the strict timetabling found in school and tbh it really wouldn't suit me as i need perpetually fluidity and change to be able to cope. PLus despite the problems with have ds actually really likes school and needs that level of input almost constantly which is completely draining for everyone around him. So whilst he is at his dad' he has writing homework. Grin when he gets back we will be targeting memorisation of basic number bonds. its all good and well being able to count on but mental arithmic is an important skill which he needs to learn. Hopefully this will kill the routine/brain stimulation/bad behaviour in these lesson at school in one go.

holidays = more work for mum/supervisory adult.

Hope the rest of your time passes uneventfully Swan!

Toffeefudgecake · 31/07/2011 14:17

Oh, Swan, sounds like a holiday to remember - for all the wrong reasons! Not much of a holiday for you at all, by the sounds of it. After 11 years with children, I have come to the conclusion that holidays with children are never holidays for the adults at all. My DS1's behaviour usually gets worse on holiday too - I think it's the stress of the change.

We have waved goodbye to PA's cats, rabbits and mansion (well, it is compared to our titchy house!) and are now back home, which seems very pokey in comparison. I have fed the boys and am now letting them watch as much telly/play computer as they like so that I can get on with all the post-holiday jobs. I followed the Flylady rules and put the first load of washing on as soon as I stepped in the door. Then I unpacked. I think if I'd stopped and sat down, I would have lost the will. DH has gone off to his mum's to build more flatpack furniture, poor thing. She was lonely whilst we were away, so will appreciate his company.

We had a lovely day yesterday. We went to Carisbrooke Castle, which is one of the prettiest castles I've ever seen. The boys were both a bit whiny and complaining, but even they enjoyed it. WhoKnows - I recommend it as an excursion, but if you have a toddler (sorry, I can't remember) hold on tight to his/her hand and watch out for the well - I'm sure a small child could slip through the grating over the top of it [paranoia emoticon]. I'm surprised they didn't have a warning sign.

The boys are happy to be home, but they both said they have had one of their best holidays ever. They really loved looking after PA's pets and I think having a Wii and an XBox clinched it for them. Oh, and the big jar of lollypops probably helped too! They would happily have stayed in all day and complained loudly every time we insisted on going out ("Why do you want to go out every day?" DS2 kept whining Confused).

WhoKnows - the weather on the IOW is fabulous today. Hope you have a wonderful holiday there.

CHB - good luck with your crisis clean.

Ellie - hope your pre-holiday packing goes smoothly. Have a lovely holiday.

The washing machine is bleeping at me in an irritatingly insistent way. Time for the second load...

CHBitchy · 31/07/2011 17:35

Yep the bi-monthly shove pillow/duvet through machine routine Hmm it is the bonus of not having ds with me. Being child free increases productivity exponetially ime. I reckon i have at least that amount of washing of clothes to do. That'll learn me to not leave the washing for over a week.

NettieSpaghetti · 12/08/2011 17:27

Hello please can I come back? BlushGrin

Life is hectic indeed. Extra responsibility at work but no extra hours. Parties, graduation, etc. I've spent all afternoon home blessing s/s sweeping, bed making, washing. I'm shattered and am now lying on couch ignoring my children's bickering.

So time to get back to old list and all you girls. Grin

Tomorrows list
Get up, dressed to shoes
Breakfast
Move washing on
Get ds to write friend birthday card for party
Wrap present for party
s/s
Go to work process payment that couldn't do today
Go to party
Go from that party straight to another party
Home to bed hope children eaten enough so don't need to make dinner
Flake watching ally McBeal marathon

I haven't been through thread yet so unless I have you on Facebook I won't have a clue how you all are. I hope you are ok. I do plan to catch up soon. Grin

Any tips on how to manage mother in law fresh out of surgery for lumpectomy and lymph nodes on Wednesday who is trying to do work already would be greatly appreciated! Short of changing all her passwords and locking the office door!? HmmConfused

Be back soon Brew
