Morning everyone,

I didn't know if pmpy would get on today and I didn't want the thread to run out of space for our chat housework musings so thought I would create another one.

Hope you don't mind pmpy!

DCs are just turning feral, have left DH upstairs with them. They've been pretty good all day but are still raring to go but at this point we just want to be left in peace downstairs.

Darts - like the new name, fingers crossed you get the boiler fixed soon.

Linzer - Wine well deserved for you tonight.

CHB - see you on Sunday then

Feet - glad to hear DD's birthday was progressing well

Feeling more in control of the house after my two bits of decluttering today, although the landing does look like a branch of Primark on a Saturday afternoon. Friend came round with her DCs this morning and they all played hockey and football outside for half an hour before adjourning to the Wii while we chatted which was nice. DD had another friend round this afternoon, so I went outside and played a bit of tennis with DS. Well, batting a ball around, garden is too small and cluttered for much else (hockey and football were on the green over the road). Better go and clear up the kitchen. Night night.

feetheart · 22/02/2011 21:39

Am knackered now and have just sat down for the first time today but it has been a lovely day.

MC - party at home was DD's idea and as it only involved her and 3 like-minded friends it was lovely - lots and lots of Hama beads, some pizza-making, some glass painting and cake! They were so happy chatting and creating Hama stuff that we ran out of time to do peppermint creams (and they were here for 4 hours :o)
Would definitely do it much more active.

darts - hope heating gets sorted asap. :) at Michelin Man, that's my usual look I find. Think our house has reputation for being cold but I grew up in the no central heating/put another jumper on generation.

Not much of a Flying list for tomorrow as we are on Birthday Number 2 (DH's)
So far he has requested a lie-in, bagels and smoked salmon, an Angry Birds cake (Hmm) and a meal out. Lie-in and meal out sorted, bagel dough on the go and cake planned. Here's hoping it all works out :)

Off for early night, sleep well all, especially missjulie

feetheart · 22/02/2011 21:43

Would definitely do it again for DD though DS needs something much more active - too tired to be in charge of computer :o

pushmepullyou · 22/02/2011 21:45

Evening everybody Smile

I'm a bit migrainey this evening so I'll probably keep it to links only if that's OK with everyone. Could do with time away from a screen.

Tomorrow's baby step is to set your afternoon routine. I don't particularly have one, unless it's play with DD then make tea Grin. I suppose I usually inload the dishwasher, whilst I'm making tea if that counts!

Still in the master bedroom where tomorrow's mission is to clear the floor of your closet. Or wardrobe if you prefer (I do).

Wednesday is anti-procrastination day so a not to be missed Hmm opportunity for doing all those things you've been putting off all week.

Might be back to round up a bit later if my headache clears, but if not see you all tomorrow Smile

missjulie · 22/02/2011 23:24

Hello all!
Not much flying done today at all! :(
Been so tired!

Hope everyone has had a good day - too tired to read the thread in much detail - sorry!

making - glad the swimming is going well hun. x

CHB - glad you stayed in the warm car! Brrrr! x

stillchuckingit - it wasn't a round up, i just wanted to aknowledge everyone, as i never have the time to read all the thread, and to really get involved, which i wanted to do last night! x

swan - i hope tonight is better too!!! (just put her to bed, but bet it's just a damn power nap!!) x

feet - thank you! Hope you have a good sleep too! x

PMPY - hope you feel better soon hun, i suffer from them too. Hope you get a good sleep. x

xxxx

Just getting ready for bed. Last lazy childfree day today, I collect DS tomorrow morning. I'll look at our halfterm activity list, and we can decide on what we're doing tomorrow when I get him home. Train trip to Oxford is on the list, but that will be Thursday or Friday.

So, today I've done:
Morning routine
Clean washing away
Washing on airer - still not nice enough to put it out
S/s
Make bed
RR living room and kitchen
Grocery delivery away
Shredding
Zone cleaning/decluttering - 2 hours in the pit of despair
WI paperwork - 2 hours (but I'm now ready for the Annual Meeting, financial statement and treasurer report finished
Playgroup paperwork - 2 hours or so - didn't do it last week, so needed to play catchup. Childcare voucher companies are the bane of my life - every company has its own system, and I've now got five (shortly to become six) companies to deal with
Evening routine

See, I can do a short list Wink

Ihatecobwebs · 23/02/2011 00:10

Oh, I did feed DH today, just forgot to put it on the list

Ihatecobwebs · 23/02/2011 00:20

feetheart - not planning on doing much more flying for the rest of the week, just keep things ticking over, and spend the time with DS

MC, Linzer - you've reminded me I need to try DS with pancakes again. He didn't like them last year, but maybe this year will be different (especially if I don't let him know he didn't like them last time Wink)

missjulie · 23/02/2011 01:13

Forgot to say, i did manage to drag my ass out and take DD for a walk. It was nice, she actually 'saw' the chickens for the first time today, and was fascinated, then we went to visit the horses, chatted to some neighbours, and called in at another neighbour's for a Brew. Other than feeding, playing, cuddling DD, and taking care of myself have not got anything else done today!
Made up DD's meals for tomorrow, did dishes and shined sink! Zip!
xx

NettieISroundlikefiggypudding · 23/02/2011 04:09

Hello everyone, newbies and all oldies.

Flying home tomorrow. Arrive back early hours of Thursday morning. Had fab totally exhausting, mile pounding, put on lbs, lovely time and can't wait to get home. Laundry mountain should be minimal.

My list is body clutter, house clutter and routine. Marking my place and wishing you all best. See you on Thursday bit jetlagged [vodka and tomato juice Brew] (someones gotta use it up!)

Nightnight take care if youse. Grin

LinzerTorte · 23/02/2011 07:20

Hope you have a good flight back, Nettie - where have you been?

pmpy Hope the migraine didn't develop.

Today's English lesson has been cancelled as DD1's class is going to to see Beauty and the Beast at the casino (which I assume must have a theatre). I briefly considered offering to go in to DD2's class instead, but have decided to allow myself a day off - which means I have a whole five child-free hours this morning. No excuse for not getting my list done today, then.

Morning routine
Mission
15 mins decluttering in DDs' room
Purge magazines
Polish mirrors
Finish letter
Phone DS's friend's mum re this afternoon
Afternoon routine
DD1: letters x2
DD2: letters x3
DDs: Music theory homework
Send school photos to GPs
DD2 to ballet
Pay kindergarten Bastelbeitrag
Pay friend for flowers for kindergarten teacher
Buy stamps online
e-mail friend re meeting up
Evening routine

swanriver · 23/02/2011 08:52

just read the thread, now I need to make dd's packed lunch.
She is going Ice Skating with the Sports group, so very excited. I banned boys from going for the reasons Linzer outlined. I do not want to drive to Hemel Hempstead and rescue people with any more broken limbs Grin

off I go.
Hello Nettie was it Florida, or perhaps Canaries, there is that certain spring in your step that only sun and palm trees can provide?Grin

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 23/02/2011 08:59

Right, just sent the DCs off with Grandad for a couple of days so I can go to work. The house seems very quiet.

Swan - Driving to Hemel Hempstead to be avoided at all costs IMO, used to have to go there for work quite a bit, never did get the hang of that roundabout system.

Nettie - you do sound very chipper, hope you had a fab time.

MissJ - hope you got some sleep, sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday.

Right, better go, work beckons. See you later. Or might not, we are supposed to be going out tonight as the DCs are away, DH is in charge of booking something.

grouchyoscar · 23/02/2011 09:13

If your house is cluttered with a stroppy 7yr old DS, can you put him on Freecycle?

Toffeefudgecake · 23/02/2011 09:23

Driving home today. Just packing now (no Flylady packing list this time - just throwing everything into the suitcase). It has been lovely to have a break and get some lie-ins.

The first thing I have to do when I get home is put the dishwasher on (didn't have time before we left on Sat morning [disgusted emoticon]).

Ogre - enjoy your night out Smile

elliepac · 23/02/2011 09:33

Morning all,

Just flying by in a free period! Haven't been around for a couple of days, purely because I have been stuck in that 'omg, I am back at work' phase and it always takes me a few days to get back into the swing of things! Will try and get caught up at some point but am not promising anything! Hope everyone is ok and that missjulie has had some sleep!

Back later on tonight after the swimming run!

OP posts:
swanriver · 23/02/2011 09:34

grouchy stroppy ones are already arguing here LOL
dd has gone skating!
I feel like I have been through the mangle already this morning, woke far too early although kids fast asleep due to mad mad husband jumping out of bed and saying we had to make breakfast????for sleeping children. He has gone to work thank goodness.
After getting shoe polish on his cuffs, mini-drama LOL.

Raining. Grey. Cold.
Planning to go to Kew Gardens for that tropical note, but my Mum has already said she can't face trudging around in the drizzle with SIL and pram, so may have to rethink..

swanriver · 23/02/2011 09:38

List
breakfast things away
recycling mountain which is already out the front, but needs ordering into seven heaps
shower and dress properly
another coffee
plan day so that kids get out but Mum and SIL can meet up with us. If they come here, I'll have to tidy up againHmm and kids will be v.badly behaved.

systemsaddict · 23/02/2011 10:17

Bicarbed the sofabed last night and hoovered it today, thanks everyone - if I put my nose right to it there's still a slight whiff of milk but I think another go would do it. Does Febreze work?

Got a call from dp yesterday to say ds had no clothes at all - we have focused on school uniform this year and didn't factor in half terms! So this morning emptied and sorted all the clean laundry and feel much more organised on that front. If I can just get the laundry routine sorted that will help enormously. I can manage putting one load on a day (dp often hangs it up), it's the sorting / putting away dry stuff that needs focus. (still - I remember posting this as my goal weeks ago!)

chuckling at the school trip to the casino Linzer, ah you cosmopolitan continentals!

swanriver · 23/02/2011 10:31

recyling done
breakfast things doneish
piano practice x 1 violin x 1 done
dcs dressed under orders done
brief stint of garden rubbish clearance done

Systems we seem to have feast or famine. The key is to find someone with slightly older child (perhaps two children of different sexes) who is desperate to pass on their outgrown clothes. But we either still either have loads of shirts and no trousers or vice versa. Never any socks or underpants, endlessly rebuying those, where do they go?
Ds2 drawers are a terrible shambles, I think just too small for the stuff he has in there including football gear. We need to totally rethink his boxroom and put in a highsleeper or something, just hanging on till he stops wetting the bed (occasionally only) Blush

ColdHeartedBitch · 23/02/2011 10:31

There is a lot of sakting going on atm Envy I hate half term as there is little training time as it gets way too busy. Roll on next week.

swanriver · 23/02/2011 10:39

Grin CHB sorry....

now I must steel myself to ring my mum and organise day with three lots of people arriving from different directions

Makingchanges · 23/02/2011 11:18

CHB are you a skater?

Swan good luck with organising today and pleasing everyone.

Well I am off swimming again (Do you see a pattern to me week Hmm ) BF has agreed to have DD so she is being deposited for a few hours of fun there.

Other jobs to do

  • Tidy DDs bedroom - she has emptied 6 drawers and the top of two units onto the floor this morning - you can no longer see the floor and then just closed the door Shock
  • make chilli for tea
  • dry bedding - had to sleep with no bedding on bed last night as forgot to find the spare set and forgot to dry the wet one Hmm
  • finish washing pots from last night - DH 'did them - turns out he just did a few and left the rest in the sink Shock
  • more reading
  • more essay writing
  • 15 more minutes on clean clothes pile
  • empty all bins
  • wash towels
  • 15 minutes in main bedroom
  • sort out childcare tomorrow - I have glucose tolerance test and swimming to cover

Right best get on - back later

swanriver · 23/02/2011 11:33

plan to suit all involving outside and lunch done Grin
