Morning everyone,

I didn't know if pmpy would get on today and I didn't want the thread to run out of space for our chat housework musings so thought I would create another one.

Hope you don't mind pmpy!

Didn't get to do any housework yesterday evening as I look after an elderly relation a couple of nights a week so wasn't home to tackle the pigsty house!
But tonight I will ensure my sink is still shining and I WILL spend 15 mins in my bedroom decluttering!

Ihatecobwebs · 23/02/2011 15:26

Hope everyone is having a good day. xxx

LinzerTorte · 23/02/2011 15:49

Evening routine

cobwebs Envy of trip to Oxford - I used to live nearby, but haven't been back for years.

osella Well done on the shining sink; I haven't done mine for several days. Blush

SC Hope you're managing to stay sane despite madness of work!

Makingchanges Hope swimming goes well today.

CHB I may have been on the ice yesterday, but didn't actually get much skating done.

swan We always end up with far too much underwear - esp. for DS for some reason (he has about six packs of pants waiting to be grown into [can't resist the ones at Mothercare/M&S, which just seem so much nicer than Austrian ones], plus about the same amount that have been passed down). Hope your DD enjoyed the skating btw.

systems Must admit I've never been into the casino here, impressive building as it is - there are also lots of balls held there but DH is (unlike most Austrians) not a ball-goer, thank goodness.

ellie I struggle to get even a modicum of flying done when I have work, and sometimes wonder how I would ever find time for regular part-time work (I have done it, but the house has fallen apart).

Toffee Hope you had a good journey back.

grouchy I would often be tempted if we had Freecycle here. Grin

Ogre Hope your DH arranges something nice and that you have a lovely night out.

That was supposed to be a quick post... Hmm

LinzerTorte · 23/02/2011 15:56

Sorry to hear about the continuing lack of sleep, missjulie - I used to think that my body had got so used to doing without sleep that I couldn't sleep even on those rare occasions that DD1 did.

swanriver · 23/02/2011 16:45

had a lovely day so far! Two children at a time rocks! Lots of mud though...and a visit to discount bookshop Blush

Toffeefudgecake · 23/02/2011 18:51

Back home and back to the familiar routines. The car broke down on the way back, but, luckily, only when we were nearly home. We managed to make it to a garage before it gave up the ghost. DS2 thought the garage was a wonderful treat. We ended up catching a taxi home. But at least we made it and didn't break down on the motorway.

Have rinsed and washed everything in the dishwasher (yuk!), done a load of washing, tumbledried it all and done most of the unpacking. DH has just poured me a glass of Wine, so I'm not sure much more will get be done tonight Wink.

Sorry for my lack of personal messages. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Bye for now.

Toffeefudgecake · 23/02/2011 18:53

'get done tonight' not 'get be done' Confused.

Tsk tsk. Fancy me not proofreading it first.

DartsRus · 23/02/2011 19:01

Good evening to Linzer, Toffee, Ogre, Ellie, cobwebs, makingchanges, systems, MissJ, Swan, Balinderry, Leo, Feetheart, SC, PMPY, Grouchy, and Osella. And hello to those of you I missed. And to Coldheartedbitch, dd grinned like a lunatic at your wave to her yesterday! Grin

Still no heating, or hot water, but we have finally got someone coming first thing in the morning!

Have managed to get morning routine done, work (pcs offline till nearly lunchtime, still managed to get a mountain of paper tackled....), collect kids from GPs, take kids for ds swimming lesson and finally cook tea.

So now I have a few minutes to myself before collecting mum and going off to play a darts match...

And then, two days of leave before the weekend, yay! Although I have got the car in for a service on Friday so no lie-ins for me until Saturday.

elliepac · 23/02/2011 19:49

Evening all Smile.

Just got back from swimming and am just sat down while dh is finishing off dinner.

Absolutely no flying to speak of today but dh has been a star and done the majority of stuff. I have put a washload in. Grin. had a fascinating afternoon. We took some year 9's to hear a holocaust survivor speak. It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and very humbling yet truly inspiring and a little upsetting. The kids were brilliant and working with them reminded me why i love my job which was waning after spending the last few days producing a 36 page document on assessment! I really do love my job and it is a privilege to work with young people!

.

Am going to have an early night so dinner and bed i think so sorry for lack of persoals but mahoosive waves to everyone!

missjulie · 23/02/2011 21:33

ellie, that sounds like a lovely day!

Haven't got much done at all today, again. Am so so tired, and got a bit of a sore head, hope PMPY's head is better too.

done list - sink shined several times, fed, watered me and DD all day, clothes out for tomorrow. Wrote ANOTHER stinker of a letter to Capital One GRRRRRRRRRRR Angry paid some bills, replied to texts, emails, MN things, that's about it.

Just put DD to bed, she is still playing in her cor, please please please let her be sleeping soon, and that way all night, i really need a good sleep tonight. We got to get up real early in the am to go swimming etc..

Just heard from DH, he has been away 10 1/2 days, and has only just reached the work site at Bali! Sad Sad Sad, so that means he will be away even longer now. Sad

Hope everyone has had a lovely day. xxxx

pushmepullyou · 23/02/2011 22:15

Evening everyone Smile

Feeling better this evening. Just got back from work and put away the on line shopping. DD has been at PIL all day so the house is still reasonably tidy for last night, which is a good result as far as I'm concerned Grin.

I must admit I'm quite enjoying co-ordinating the thread this month - am Blush to realise how many of the baby steps I've never noticed before! The one down side is that I'm barely doing any flying as we're all so chatty that the round up takes me most of the evening Grin

nettie is flying home today Smile and sounding very chipper. She has had a lovely (and from the sounds of it calorific) break and identified body clutter as a key challenge for when she gets home. I will be joining her on this one in a couple of weeks as due to enforced inactivity and compulsive cake eating I am beginning to resemble a weeble to a greater extent than can be accounted for by pregnancy alone.

linzer's DD has been on a school trip to see beauty and the beast at the casino.

*swan's DD has been iceskating

ogre has packed her DC off to the GPs for a couple of days.

grouchy is living up to her name Wink and contemplating freecycling her DS. I may be going the same way with my DD!

toffee is home and washing the dishes! Her car broke down, but fortunately not too inconveniently.

ellie is back at work and still adjusting! She has had a very rewarding day today taking her year 9 class to talk to a holocaust survivor and is feeling inspired by her job, which is always a lovely feeling Smile

systems has bicarbed the sofa and run out of clothes for her DS. I am having a similar problem with DD at the moment and am too big and heavy to go shopping for any more!

CHB is looking forward to next week when the ice rinks will not be full of skating DC amd she can train properly!

makingchanges is going swimming again

SC is another of us overwhelemed with work. I both sympathise and empathise Smile

osella has vowed to shine her sink and done 15 minutes of decluttering

ihate has enjoyed her last child free cup of tea for a while and retrieved her DS from his GPs Grin

missjulie's DD had a better night's sleep, but unfortunately it didn't transfer to missjulie Sad. Her DH will be away longer than expected, which is also Sad. Do you know when he will be back?

Darts has no heating or hot water, but does have two days leave coming up so is generally feeling cheerful. Her DD is very excited to be waved at by CHB Grin

missjulie · 23/02/2011 22:22

PMPY, so glad you are feeling better hun.
No, never ever know how long he is away for, or home for, all we knew was it was about a 5 week job, (it's always longer than they say) As he has just got to the work site, i guess he will be away another 5 - 6 weeks or so.
:(

pushmepullyou · 23/02/2011 22:22

Here are tomorrow's links....

At last - a babystep that I not only recognise but also manage to do at least 50% of the time Grin. It is to incorporate a swish and swipe in to your morning routine. For those that are not familiar this is a basic wipe round in the bathroom. Quite a few of us do this one in varying forms. Mine is usually in the evening as I'm on my way to bed as I'm always running too late in the morning and basically comprises a wipe of the sink, bin lid and loo with some bathroom spray and loo roll and a quick spray polish of the bathroom mirror. Personally I find every other day to be perfectly adequate for this.

Tomorrow's mission is to clear off your nightstand. I did mine last months and it is still clear (hooray), but DH's bedside table is frankly letting the side down!

Thursday is errand day. Mine will be buying curry powder Grin

pushmepullyou · 23/02/2011 22:25

Oh no, missjulie that must be so hard, particularly with a young baby. Does he do something exciting? I've got a friend who's some kind of geologist for BP (or similar) and he has a similar life style its very hard on his family.

missjulie · 23/02/2011 22:27

It is hard, very, very hard. He is an R.O.V pilot, works off-shore on the boats. Surveys pipes, oil rigs, sea bed etc....

Makingchanges · 23/02/2011 22:46

Oh missjulie sorry to hear dh is going to be away longer than expected.

Am on phone so sorry for lack of personals.

Swimming was rubbish today, managed approx 12 metres but just couldnt get it for most of time. DD has also been a madam this evening and no sign of dh yet.

All flying jobs planned were completed though.

I am now fasting for tomorrows glucose tolerence test Sad so rubbish morning of sitting and blood tests tomorrow, then swimming Hmm and yoga in the evening. Going to read my book (hope to finish) during enforced 2 hour inactivity, then essay and more main bedroom tidying.

Back tomorrow - hope u are all well

Morning lovely fledglings

Freezing rain here this morning but all is well with the world. (Can't quite believe how well dd is behaving atm; she is a different child to last term!. I'm very, very proud of her Smile)

Thank you for round-up last night pushme glad you are feeling better

Poor you MissJ it's tough look after a baby when your dh is away

Sounds as if you had a very inspiring day yesterday Ellie Your pupils are lucky to have you as their teacher.

Right, neeeiiigggghhhh Grin have bit between teeth this morning so hope you will forgive lack of further personal messages

Things getting a bit more under control in house generally. Laundry situation vastly improved. Office work back under control.

Spurred on by that, I have 6 whole free hrs in which to flit between office and boudoir. I'm going to use them to declutter and tidy ready for cleaning tomorrow and over w/e.

Today:
morning routine inc. s&s, wm on, dw on done
declutter and tidy office and boudoir
make 2 important phone calls
Amazon order
personal grooming
quick supermarket shop
continue laundry
start sewing Carnaval costume (or at least sort out pattern and materials etc)
sort 3 parcels + 1 letter for posting tomorrow

Hope everyone has a productive day. We can do it ladies!!!

Stillchuckingit · 24/02/2011 08:22

Oo, meant to say "good luck with your test today" MakingChanges and glad you are feeling better Ihate

OK ... I'm walking firmly away from the screen ....

Toffeefudgecake · 24/02/2011 08:26

Good morning, Still. You sound as if you are going to have a very productive day. Can you lend me some of your oomph, please? I am feeling decidedly jaded, thanks to going to bed far too late (did a late Tesco order for delivery today and then wandered into active threads) and being woken up far too early by overly lively children.

I should make a list. That might help.

Someone give me a kick up the backside. Or maybe another cup of tea. Or both.

LinzerTorte · 24/02/2011 08:30

Brew for Toffee

LinzerTorte · 24/02/2011 08:30

Ooh, that worked. So why won't it let me post my long post?

Toffeefudgecake · 24/02/2011 08:34

Thanks, Linzer.

Had MN logged you off? If I spend too long writing, I sometimes get logged off and it won't let me post. Then I have to ctr + S to save the post (otherwise it disappears) and log back in again.

LinzerTorte · 24/02/2011 08:39

No, I'm still logged in and can post on other threads - just not this one.

Someone is trying to tell me that I spend too long on her chatting and not enough time flying, I suspect. Blush
