Slatterns, you are beckoned!

Come hither from thither but do not dither!!

Spacehoppa we too are long on apples!

We eat lots, just as they are, of our "eaters". So I suspect most if not all will simply be eaten. DH takes at least 2 with him every day and in fact, I am eating one right now!

But as for our cookers, I have gazillions of them. Have made crumble, blackberry and apple pie. I am going to do a batch simply stewed with a bit of sugar, my two eat it with a spoon of greek yogurt. Very easy standby pud.

And I feel a piece of roast pork coming on this weekend, any excuse to ladle a load of apple sauce on the plate.

If you get any thoughts, do let me know!!!!

For your apples - get a horse! I would just stew it up in batches ready to have crumble all winter, but then i love winter puddings.

Shepherds pie made for this evening, i am so ready for some sleep

FFS what is it with DH?!?!
He wasn't going to be home for tea so i had planned a packet of fresh pasta with pasta sauce, enough for us 3 (DS1 doesn't eat much, DS2 eats loads and i am fine with whatever's left).
But, he came home early, should be good news right? Hmm
So i said (as i'm knackered & he was going to do tea):
"There are 2 packets of pasta & 2 sauces, different, but 1 of each won't be enough, so you'll have to do both."
"OK" says he.

All clear right?
So what does he do? 1 packet of pasta with 1 sauce, tiny portions all round, DS1 is fine, but DS2 & I are still hungry, grr. And then you've 'missed' DS2's cooperative eating window so anything you give him he won't eat. Meanwhile i have orchestra to go to and i'm hungry. Yes i know i can find something else but really HOW HARD WAS IT?!?!

Then he gets all huffy & offended and I'm all pissed off and disbelieving.

and breathe....and go and find something else to eat!

Tues:

  • swap bath mats & towels
  • tea x 4 (pasta) & tidy up DONE (sort of, hmph)
  • boys to bed
  • orchestra

Evening!

JKS, what a pain! He clearly wasn't listening. Angry

Sounds productive in here today!

DS has been a bit naughty the last couple days. Proper shouting 'Noooo!' and refusing to do as he's told. Think the exciting weekend has unsettled him a little.

I have moved some furniture round so that the dining table is now accessible in three sides and the three of us can comfortably eat at the table together. Smile
And we had a proper meal too with veg and tatties. Grin

JKS - we love em but they never listen!!! Mine also expects me to mind read, so whereas I (in a slightly nagging fashion I suspect) remind him/ask the same thing at least twice if it is important (and he still doesn't register it!), he actually chooses to send his important information to me through the power of his brain alone.

Oh yes. It's fabulous apparently, but sadly my brain waves do not appear to be compatible with his brain waves, so good old fashion "tell me out loud" is still needed. Sorry, I've not been upgraded yet! 13 years later, you'd have thought he'd worked it out?!

He also has absolutely no ability to estimate how long something will take, which often completely scuppers me - "oh don't worry, I'll have this done in 20 minutes, then we can go out/have lunch/play with kids/ etc etc etc" Several hours later...... Hmm

Anyway, enough of man baiting. Good morning and here we go. It's going to pour all day, so focus on inside (again):

(JKS it wasn't you drove into nanny's car was it?? Wink)

Had a nice morning, met friend in sainsbury#s cafe for coffee and chat. Our boys annoyed some of the other customers by driving their cars around the table but they weren't being at all naughty, just normal 2 year old boys so Biscuit to the sour faced old bag who tutted at us and moved tables.

Leg and hip still painful, nurse friend thinks I might have arthritis Shock

Haven't got much more to do today, just dusting and hoovering.

minimammoth · 06/10/2010 14:28

Men must have an inbrn 'prat' virus which surfaces from time to time.
Freaki you are a bit young for arthritis, although I know it happens sometimes. If you have ever pulled tendon, or fallen on your hip it can take ages to mend up to 2 years for a tendon for eg. keep it moving though.
Lost list. But have changed bed, washed sheets and started on spare room which was becoming an outpost of office of doom.
Want to try to get house streight ( is that spelt right it looks weird)so that you can actually enter room for example Hmm

Morning!
Alice - once a fortnight breakfast visits?!?!? Sounds interesting?

After all your advice, I have ordered some vacuum storage bags - hoping they might arrive today so I can clear our spare room of the growing piles of summer clothes/spare cushions and bedding that we aren't going to need for a while... Now have space in the loft to store it all, will be very satisfying to move some stuff in there!

Have all sorts of stuff to flog on ebay now, but I always find it such a drag listing it all. Ugh. It takes sooooo long. Anyone out there do much listing? I generally have 2 or 3 big blitzes a year - can't muster the strength to do it more regularly. Got loads of nice stuff this time though, should raise some decent cash. My incentive is that the kids and I can have some fun at half term if I sell enough!!!

I swear these lists have changed my life. Even through the chaos of our lives, knowing I have my list to come back to, my sanity anchor, rather than trying to keep it all in my head is such a life saver. Thanks ladies

TODAY

  • Up, showered and dressed me and DC?s

Alice that is quite a list! And you've already done loads of it, put me to shame!

Anon I store stuff for ages thinking I will ebay it but then get fed up with it hanging around and send it to charity. Stupid really because I could do with the cash but laziness seems to win every time.

Anyone interested in seeing my DATE for sat look at the latest added person on my fb page(PB). Don't think I actually fancy him at this stage but we'll see...he ticked the nice smile and good with children boxes on my requirements list when I saw him anyway. It will be good to get ot and chat to someone different to normal anyway.

Just going to hang some washing out and then will be back with a list

JustKeepSwimming · 07/10/2010 10:39
