Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 18:15

And there was no need for you to be like you were either.

PlumBumMum · 28/07/2010 18:16

foureleven I will make you a cuppa for all your biscuits

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 18:17

somethinganything - welcome hope you find it helpful being here!

cikecaka · 28/07/2010 18:19

PMSL Plum! It really made me LOL

foureleven · 28/07/2010 18:19

What ??!! proper confused now. I asked an innocent question about what was going on in the thread. From an outsider it does look strange.

I just wanted to understand. And now I do. I dont personally struggle to fit this kind of stuff in. I have a cleaner for two hours a week and I work 50 hours so am not at home to get it messy. Plus my DP pulls his weight. So the thread isnt for me. But I do understand.

somethinganything · 28/07/2010 18:20

Thanks Alibaba

PlumBumMum · 28/07/2010 18:20

I'm sure there are jobs you put off everyday, so you can also list them here and then someone might come on and say for God sake Plum will you take that exercise bike out of your car!!

take exercise bike out of cardone
struggle to get it safely into housedone
be highly dissapointed that cycling 3k ONLY used 60 cal DONE

foureleven · 28/07/2010 18:20

Nice ladies, thanks.
I shall never darken the door of your exclusive thread to ask my ignorant and naive questions again. Terribly sorry.

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 18:21

PMSL Plum

Something - welcome and i hope being here helps

It has definitely helped me, i didn't have anything resembling a 'routine' of household jobs and some things are automatic now, have even added stuff (like putting breakfast things out the night before) that helps life tick by more smoothly.

Some stuff stays on my Ongoing list for years months though still

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 18:22

3k = 60 calories???

that's it, i'll take my bike back....

cikecaka · 28/07/2010 18:22

FOURELEVEN, there is no offence to you but a couple of months ago some started AIBU thread about us, ran to a couple of pages sneering us for listing things like Getting out of bed etc. I am suffering wih depression but writing those things and the help of the other Slatterns has greatly improved my home and homelife. HTH

somethinganything · 28/07/2010 18:22

foureleven I refer you to your earlier post...

"I know i'm probably missing a big in joke but are 'get up' 'get dressed' 'nap' 'lunch' etc really to do items...? The mind boggles."

Innocent question? Yes no sarcasm there at all

PlumBumMum · 28/07/2010 18:24

foureleven it is a touchy subject someone started a thread about us slatterns/flyladies, and it was all abit horrible, for me I do tend to get things done, and if I'm not getting my lists done I know I'm in need of a good kick/shake up

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 18:24

foureleven - if I've taken you the wrong way then I'm sorry. We frequently get people coming on here being sarcastic and taking the piss, and yes we do all get defensive. This thread has saved my sanity, it is as simple as that.
This thread is not exclusive, anyone can join.

foureleven · 28/07/2010 18:26

cikecaka, shit thats so rude and nasty. But I didnt do that.. I thought I asked nicely. The mind did boggle... you have to admit without knowing the background that writing 'get up' as a to do item is a bit odd.

Two of my close family members have had depression and I had PND so im not ignorant on the subject.

foureleven · 28/07/2010 18:27

alibaba, sorry i didnt know you got people taking the piss... or about the AIBU thread.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 18:28

that's ok, as you see you have unwittingly stabbed a nerve!

foureleven · 28/07/2010 18:31

sorry. Thanks for the wine

PlumBumMum · 28/07/2010 18:32

ahh I was just about to hand out wine!!!

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 18:38

Wine? I'm in

Alicetheinvisible · 28/07/2010 18:40

JKS i have a bit of a bone to pick with you! Mentioning the other night about wine and peanuts, suggestible pg lady here, i could have cried!

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 18:50

Sorry Alice think of it this way, you are nearly there, back to eating/drinking properly again, i'm (hopefully) just starting out, months of deprivation ahead of me

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 19:03

Alice you can eat peanuts - the advice to avoid in pregnancy has been proved wrong and they've changed the guidelines. I had a glass of wine last night, one or two small glasses is fine.
I have also discovered that it's now ok to eat pink steak, yay! Cannot stand it cooked all the way through.

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 19:31

Hi all.

We have survived the party.
It rained for the first hour or so we played find the peppa pig cards in the house (aka treasure hunt) and they got a sweet for a prize. Pass the parcel took place in the teepee. Then it stopped raining enough for them all to have a go on the obstacle course and get a medal.

Mini says 'hi'.
She was invaluable helping with food and tea. You need plenty of helpers when

There were 11 kids here in the end. DS had a few tantrums but it all went fine really. Was his first proper party and I think it went pretty well. All the kids seemed to enjoy it.

You were right Plum/JKS DS LOVED the cake. He did recognise it as a monkey too (phew). And it was yummy too! Thanks for all the support.

We are exhausted. Cracking the vino open imminently.
