Evening!

HMHB, it's fabulous!

Ali, chocolate/biscuits and a Bob the Builder DVD today. Library do free rental on many kids DVDs so we can mix it up every week.
He's very good at helping me tidy up though and helps watering the gardening and feeding the birds.
When I get used to this cleaning lark I might get him a bit more involved.

Hope DS is asleep soon!

Tomorrow -

On the plus side, no housework....

SweetGrapes · 28/07/2010 08:00

Morning everybody
Morning Alice, good luck with the baby. Have you booked in any massages, facials etc?? That's the way to get baby out. The minute you lie back and relax for your massage/facial, your waters will burst...

CC - have to have a little LOL at DD3, better luck today!

HMHB - love the cake, it looks yum, try and keep it cool today so it doesn't melt! And have fun!

Alice - hope the kitchen stuff goes ok.

DH annoying me, he is away so much he really has no idea how this house 'works' - eg he can't find the right clothes for the boys (put DS2 in winter pjs), he doesn't know where DS2's appts are (he wanted to do the speech therapy this morning, it's half an hour away and it's at 10. He just asked me, is it at home?), etc. etc. He should be around a bit more for the next few weeks but i can't decide if that's going to be more annoying!!!

the sun is shining, washing is finally getting dry

Wed:

  • all up & breakfasted Doing
  • all dressed
  • DS2 speech therapy (10am) - DH
  • laundry in from line & sort out
  • do some jobs!!
  • lunch & tidy up

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/07/2010 09:18

JKS - if it's any consolation, DH is around loads but still oblivious to whole areas of daily life. He is trying (we've had words recently), but he's so distracted with starting the new job that I'm fighting a losing battle.

Still not feeling sick, already doing better than with DS!

DONE
Up and cup of tea
Get DS up and dressed
Unload dishwasher
Breakfast
Put a load of washing on
Empty clean things from airing cupboard
Tidy nappy drawer

TO DO
Water veg
Have a shower and get dressed
Pack bag
Hang washing out
Out with friends for park and a picnic

cikecaka · 28/07/2010 09:37

JKS, if its any consilation when DH is working a lot of evenings and not home until after DCs are in bed, we can get it very difficult for him to fit back in for a while and when he does get back into our routine, he is normally back working late again

TO DO
Breakfast DONE
Bath DD3 (reminder not to leave her alone with showerhead, she soaked me yesterday, by the time I took my trousers off,she had soaked the bathroom and the water was coming through the kitchen ceiling)
Dress DD3
Tidy Kitchen
Tidy over sitting room DONE
Dust DONE
Wash Floor DONE
Cook Lunch
Breakfast Dishes
Upstairs Bathroom
Washing 1st LOAD ON
Sort more clothes

wastingaway · 28/07/2010 09:43

I think they don't understand that we are in charge of the house, and that this means delegating jobs to them where necessary, not doing 100% of the work.
But that this also means that they must defer to our knowledge of the household organisation and ask us stuff!

wastingaway · 28/07/2010 09:55

I should make that clear, that is for families with a SAH or mostly SAHM, particularly when the Father works away a lot.

wastingaway · 28/07/2010 09:56

imo

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2010 10:39

I totally agree Wasting

Another thing annoying me today is, been waiting for ages to finish the toothpaste (pump style) as i bought a cheaper one than normal but i didn't like the taste. Couldn't wait to finish it and go back to normal (Colgate) one, go in and see DH has started it - and broken the bit that makes it pump
so now you have to kind of push it up with one hand whilst aiming it onto your toothbrush held in the other hand. Think i will throw it away and buy a new one it's bugging me so much!

CC - DH is like that, takes a while to get him settled in then he buggers off again, and i end up being a narky cow, oops!

Wed:

  • all up & breakfasted DONE
  • all dressed DONE
  • DS2 speech therapy (10am) - DH Doing
  • mini pedicure DONE
  • laundry in from line & sort out
  • do some jobs!!
  • lunch & tidy up
  • DS2 nap
  • maybe go out with DH in afternoon/meeting friends at beach
  • tea x 2/4 (weather dependent bbq?)
  • boys to bed
  • quiet night in with DH

Ongoing List:

  • contact new dentist & see if we can register; Find another one that is taking on NHS patients
