Living room decoration options (with photos)

Looking to redecorate or living room. These are the options so far generated with AI, and I'm not sure any of them are quite right. I lean towards strong earthy colors. Wall colour and sofa colours can change. Would like to keep pink unit and rug. Details such as cushions, lighting can change, mirror frame can be painted and potentially (electric) woodburner could be painted/changed.

Which one is best, and what other options/changes would you suggest? I think I have decision fatigue.

I like the green option: looks good with the pink imo.
I think the stove thingy (the name escapes me!) would look better black.

EmpressStorm · 01/10/2026 17:43

Second rhen first, and yes stove should be black.

Sparrowsandbudgies · 01/10/2026 17:43

Green or pink, although I’d go for a slightly more yellowish green. More natural.

rwalker · 01/10/2026 17:44

green is the better option not 100% sure it goes with the pink the other are awful

Puhpuhpuhpuh · 01/10/2026 17:46

The green one. The pink is really the only one that works very well with it

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · 01/10/2026 17:56

Green walls definitely. Could be a different green.
Woodburner black as people suggest.
Can you try those options with teal sofas? Maybe with a slightly paler, softer green on walls?

KnickerlessParsons · 01/10/2026 17:57

Green. But have you tried navy? Or wallpaper on a feature wall?

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/10/2026 17:59

Green.

kitchenplans · 01/10/2026 17:59

Oh! Everyone's really liking the green, and I think that's my least favourite option, particularly the brown sofas! (Serves me right for asking!) I think the last two are my favourite but DH doesn't like the brown walls (and they may end up feeling too dark IRL).
Originally we were going to go mustard, but I don't really like the mock ups.

green one, black stove, rug with matching colours, get some awesome curtains. move the pink cupboard out of the room and shelve out the alcoves or cupboard. or half cupboard half shelves above

Latitudeohyeah · 01/10/2026 18:01

What about terracotta colour op?

Wasn't sure on navy. Def don't like wallpaper feature walls, not my style at sll.

oh and plants - fiddle leaf fig in a corner, something drapey and hanging down elsewhere. cushions and maybe a footstool. Big big rug too to ground it all. Has to sit under the front feet of both sofas

Dismissed this terracotta-ish colour. Maybe less pinky more orangey might work

No gawd not blue. Its very dated.

I like the last two as well. We have little green split pink in our sitting room. I love it. It’s a brown.

Rug is staying and is big, and fits under feet of both sofas. Plants difficult due to idiot dog and cats.

Doesn’t work with the pink imo.

WonderingWanda · 01/10/2026 18:07

Live the green but not with the brown sofas. The teal ones go better. We have sage green with blue sofas.

The yellow is nice but the pink doesn't go with it.

I have brown walls; 1930’s house; just decorated. I also have a dark green room. PM me if you want to see photos and I will give you the colours used. Just to say - even when you decide on a colour, it will take loads of trial and error to get the shade that looks good on your wall.

I really like the navy.

Shadesofscarlett · 01/10/2026 18:09

it is a great room with a lot of potential

Iloveshihtzus · 01/10/2026 18:09

You also need the color to go all the way to the ceiling.

Shadesofscarlett · 01/10/2026 18:11

how about this

I don't like that. The (smallish) rooms look much nicer with white above the picture rail. It allows them to take the deeper/darker colours.

I mean, that looks nice enough, but I don't want curtains and don't want to get rid of the pink unit, and shelves won't work with the wall lights. And the plants would last 5 minutes with a chihuahua and two cats who frequently sit on the windowsill looking out the window.
