What do you have on the wall above your bed?

We've just redecorated our bedroom and I have no idea what to put on the wall above the bed. We've painted the walls a bluey green and on the other walls we have quite traditional artwork in gold frames which really goes well with the wall colour but the bed is chrome and I don't know what to do with the wall above. It's a pretty big space.

Any ideas?

We have a retro 60s style surfing poster from when we were at university in 2005

We've now framed it to preserve it 😂

It's out of place, but it's part of our history.

I think we'll need to swap it for something else as we continue to get older though....

A beautiful batik from our honeymoon

In my last house I bought a nice piece of fabric, made a hanging and hung it on a dowel. Very cheap and changeable.

Also no pain if it landed on your head! I couldn't have something heavy there.

A shelf with a lot of things on. It has more than the required number of brackets and they're very strong brackets. I check them regularly but do feel twitchy about sleeping with a shelf above our bed. Our room is tiny and there is no other storage space though.

A window. Works for me.

I have a curtain of fairy lights that cover the whole wall. Very soothing going to sleep with lights twinkling above my head.

Is the white bit the coving or the picture rail? Trying to guage size of ceiling

Sounds perfect for our guest bedroom! I love vintage rose prints.

Couple of pictures. One large and one a fair bit smaller. One is a word art type one - words if a book making a picture and the other is a line drawing based on the book.

Mostly moons

Nothing at the moment, I've just had the bedroom replastered and am contemplating what if anything to put back up. I have my late DH's artwork ready to go back into the bedroom but am enjoying not having anything for a bit.

Really enjoying seeing other people's beautiful rooms.

Nothing, though I do love the idea of the star trek thing mentioned early on, and the story of the Queen is dead poster falling on the poster made me laugh.

We redecorated last year from what was a busy room with lots of pattern and wall hangings. It's all a lot calmer now. The bedding and side tables have striking paterns, the laps are really cool and mini works of art in themselves, but the walls and curtains are plain and I just like it so much we've left it.

Because she wants to. Why wouldn't you?

It's the coving. There's about 130cm of wall between the top of the bedstead and the coving.
