Bright coloured houses

I love colourful houses/ decor.

I spend a lot of time on Instagram looking for inspiration, and there are some amazing houses out there.

Anyone here a fan of the bold, colourful and eclectic?

We had a grey living room for about 6 months during lockdown and it felt like a prison cell.
Finally realized we weren't decorating to our own taste and was just following what was popular.
Now we have mismatched sofas, bright mismatched cushions it feels much more like us. Don't think we have grey anywhere now

Beautiful colourful houses, doing what you personally like to your own space. I'm a great believer that if you choose things you simply like, your house will bring itself together.

Loving this thread. After the original pink/green bedroom thread I was brave and have painted every room colourfully. I painted my hallway light green and have had so many compliments on it. The bedrooms are pink, blue and teal. The lounges are a bit more muted in lilac and cream with bold accessories. Still need to decide on a kitchen colour to go with the yellow splashback tiles.

I love that needlepoint @hennybeans. My quilts are pretty maximalist...

I’m moving from a Grade II listed house to a 1970s house. So, I’m ditching the subtle pale walls and oak beams for some colour in my life… I’m quite dazzled by it all 😁

I live on an eclectic 1930s.
My friends seem to love it.
I love jewel colours, texture and ceramics and pictures 😃

Take a look at this site. Her stuff is expensive but gives great ideas for mixing bright colours/textures/patterns.

Was hoping to start on our cloakroom soon (we've had the tap for seven years, bought but not fitted at our last house 🙄) and have lots of ideas for making it as colourful/interesting as the rest of the house, but have been caught up dealing with water ingress and mysterious disappearing pipework....as you do, lol!

Ours isn't even a room yet - got to carve it out from another space - but getting so excited with wallpaper samples etc as I've so missed having a cloakroom in this house that I'm going totally overboard!

To make amends, I've been adding loads of colour/pattern/stuff (!!!) to the newly finished spare room which is now looking wild and whacky. Will take some pics over the next few days....

@Hebeee the space was actually an old outside washroom so luckily didn't have to take the room from elsewhere

@Hebeee we have snap houses - very similar clouts and style. Downstairs anyway - the bedrooms are more restful.

Since I spilt with DDs dad I have expressed my joy by having a colourful, eclectic, cheerful house.

The paper (and even more so, the dark version you were considering earlier in this thread) reminds me of the excellent wallpaper in the toilet at work. I keep meaning to do a reverse image search and try to find out where it's from.

Yours is funkier though!

I was all set to go for the black version of the wallpaper, but then decided that the space wa just a bit too small and the lighter version worked better.

Yes, the lighter version looks really good in the space. And the dark paint on the lower half of the walls sets it off beautifully (hopefully with the bonus of not showing scuff-marks easily).

As mentioned above, we've recently finished the spare room in which I've run a bit wild on the eclectic front (pics attached, but crap quality, sorry, as my phone is breathing its last).

This week's project is injecting some colour into a small kitchen table...I've gone for Little Greene 'Leather', which was left from an abandoned project 🙄

I think I'm seeing Art Nouveau touches on the headboard and cushions, Hebeee? (not the starfish; the yellowish ones and the middle one.)
Very nice, anyway.

We have bright yellow kitchen, turquoise bathroom, pink hall. Bright red blinds in front room to match rug,sofa and red feature wall.
