Have any of you painted a room dark blue?

I absolutely love all of the rooms I see on Pinterest painted dark blue (think navy-ish) but I'm not sure I'm brave enough! I know it's a long shot but have any of you painted an average sized dining/family room dark blue, how does it look? What dark blue did you use? If not blue do you have any rooms painted in dark colours?
Thanks.

I very bravely painted a wall in my old, small bedroom navy. People tried to talk me out of it but it ended up looking really good! I kept it simple with white bedding and dark grey curtains/throw on the bed.

It made our room look bigger because it highlighted how high the ceilings were. I never took a picture of it all together but here are two that give you the gist of it. I say go for it!

I've been painting mine today and love it so far! (Half finished, will do the rest tomorrow.) It looks so velvety and sumptuous somehow. My house was all magnolia when I bought it last year and I'm so glad to see the magnolia slowly go away when I paint walls other colours.

I did notice it's much more difficult to use a dark paint than a light one, especially when you're cutting in and trying to achieve a straight line...

Thoughtful sorry, I can't concentrate on the walls, I'm distracted by your adorable kitty! Cute!

Ooh my favourite colour!
My bedroom is going to be Hague or hicks blue, possibly with some Middleton pink thrown in :)

My living room is stone blue, and like a pp said, EVERYTHING looks amazing against it. I used f and b in here as we have no air flow, but elsewhere I've been amazed by the valspar premium f and b copies. The colours aren't quite true, but good enough and the Matt finish is excellent.

My bedroom is very dark blue - Little Greene Basalt. Ceiling, cornice and built in wall of wardrobes are white (Farrow and Ball All White) and the carpet is greige and the bed and drawers are oiled oak. The light is copper metal. I had my doubts before it went up but it looks really good. My prints look art gallery good against it as do plants, flowers and textiles.

There are loads of fantastic dark blues around at the moment.

We have a dark blue shower room. Windowless but lots of chrome and sparkly quartz tiles and spot lights. Very bling.
