How much are people paying to go on holiday this year?

Our stats:
2 adults 2 children
1 week in July to Lanzarote
Basic 2 star self catering apts, small pool, all clean and pleasant. No luxury.
£1800
Spending money approx £1500

We eat out for lunch and dinner each day, visit a music bar/play pool after dinner and do a few local day trips but kids happy with pool/beach/playparks. They could run up and down a wall beside stairs for hours!

I pass by some of the bigger hotels with the entertainment and activities and wonder if we would like that. Would anyone share how much they are paying for these types of holidays?

Just wondering how much people are paying for different holidays and also, as an aside, when is the best time to book for best deals?

Two adult and a 4 yr old 10 nights in turkey with direct access room,9th of June all inclusive . £6000 on the holiday then another £1000 on spending money,clothes,parking, transfers ect.

Namibia for 2.5 weeks for 4 adults. Flights, hotels / lodges, food and activities have come in at £20,000. We are doing activities such as horse riding safaris, hot air ballooning, kayaking with seals, dune bashing and have a 4x4 to drive around the country.

£2300 for ferries and Eurocamp in France for two weeks. We budget £100 spending money so £1400. Total: £3700. Two adults, two kids,

Summer holiday - just on the way home ! 5 nights in Lake Garda in à fabulous 3 star and then 5 in the Dolomites in à 4 star superior . 4 adults and à teen . About 10k euro . But we were skiing at Christmas and all 7 of us went . Turkey at Easter with my girlfriends . And Scotland later in the summer . Plus weekends at Crufts , in London , Belfast etc . Spend all our spare money on holidays and the poor house is neglected !!

Around £750 for 12 days in London.
I went to some concerts which are not included in that, but aside from those, it's for everything.

I need to know what jobs everyone does to afford all these extravagant trips!!

£160 split between 3 different camping/budget hotel trips. We'd eat anyway so I'm not counting most meals as holidays costs. We will get chips a couple of times, ice creams, arcade etc. Probably a spend of £250 ish in total for 5 nights away. 15yo is going on a big scouts trip so spent more on that.

June this year Mexico for 2 weeks 4k all-inclusive 2 people.

Next year booked Egypt 1A 2DC £1900 Easter hols - 11 nights.

£3.5k for 2 weeks in a 3 bed Airbnb villa on the ile de re. Will be about £5k all in inc ferries and spending money. 2 adults 2dcs. Booked last minute so had to get something bigger than we needed!

At that price I'm assuming probably only one person, but you really need to say otherwise you can't compare!

Even for one person it's very cheap for London!

£2k accommodation, house in France, plus £1k travel and car hire, plus £2k restaurants or food from markets.
£5k for 10 days, 2 adults, one infant.

4 nights in Switzerland approx £6000.
Special occasion.

Japan for 14 nights for 2 adults - have paid bang on £4,000 (plus Avios and use of a companion voucher - but I consider these free as they were earned from normal spending!)

This includes business class / premium flights + all internal trains/flights, and all hotels (ranges from mid market £80 a night to £350 ryokan including fancy dinner).

We have budgeted £1,000 on top for both of us for food and museums. So base cost will be £5,000 in total. The wildcard is how much we will spend on shopping! I am prepped with a spare suitcase 😆

Wow some of these are eye watering. OP your holiday seems very reasonable and sounds nice.

If we have a holiday it’s just a few days in a caravan in the SW out of season, just 2adults. We didn’t have one last year and no plans for this year.

2600 self catering apartments and flights in Puerto Pollensa, August. 2 adults 2 children

2k for 2 weeks in Cornwall, travel and holiday apartments - 3 adults. Meals out and other expenses about 600.

Earlier holiday for adult DS was air bnb in Amalfi, flights on Ryan Air and transfers by bus, taxi, ferry. There were 12 of them and they mostly self catered. About £550 per head in total in June. Much cheaper than DS's interailing last summer

Skiathos Greece.. Every year for 20 years. Around £1,500 a week now per adult for decent 4 star hotel B&B includes flights extra leg room seats and private transfer. 150 Euros a day petrol food drinks €250 car hire a week.

Angelsey is stunning, huge sandy beaches bit of a trek from Hampshire but totally worth it.
Spacious comfortable 3 bed cottage hire about £1,500 low season 9 days. Normal food shop delivered by Tesco or Waitrose £200.

Porto Pollenca Majorca either 4/5 star hotel out of season (early May or later September) all inclusive £1,300 each. Cash for buses and lunch coffee out. Includes flights reserved extra leg room seats and private transfers. Eye wateringly expensive in school holidays though.

Looking at Benidorn Old Town 5 star hotel all inclusive next year as soooo much cheaper than Majorca about £1,100 each for a week including flights etc late September.

We use Easy jet always been reliable no issues.
We are quite fussy!

I work to keep my grandchildren in luxury and have 3 holidays a year to rest for the other 49 weeks we help look after them age 5 months and 2.9 years at least 2 days a week.🤣

We're SC in England, £1k for cottage with parking near beach and a long weekend in London SC £700 for house. 1 adut 2 kids.

£248 plus £600 spending money. 2 adults 2 teens. Camping.

13K 4 adults 2 weeks AI in Mexico

2 adults, 3 teens 5 days self catering surfing in Cornwall in Aug £450.

DH and I had an early summer trip this year to Hawaii, which cost around £10k. We’ve just done a mini break in Spain which cost about £500. We have another US trip coming up which I think will be around £10k again.

We also went skiing for around £5k and will visit family in the Middle East later this year (will pay for flights only so around £2k) but neither of these are ‘summer’ holidays.

I need to get better with using Avios!

Just the two of us 2 weeks in May in Crete just under £1000, half board so wouldn't have spent much while there, but we couldn't go because I was involved in a serious accident, so we are going same thing 2 weeks half board but very end of September and it's aroun £1200 because this is the favoured time of those who are retired.
