How much are people paying to go on holiday this year?

Our stats:
2 adults 2 children
1 week in July to Lanzarote
Basic 2 star self catering apts, small pool, all clean and pleasant. No luxury.
£1800
Spending money approx £1500

We eat out for lunch and dinner each day, visit a music bar/play pool after dinner and do a few local day trips but kids happy with pool/beach/playparks. They could run up and down a wall beside stairs for hours!

I pass by some of the bigger hotels with the entertainment and activities and wonder if we would like that. Would anyone share how much they are paying for these types of holidays?

Just wondering how much people are paying for different holidays and also, as an aside, when is the best time to book for best deals?

We're going to Carlisle, because our football team is playing there!

We will drive 20 miles to get on the fastest train line. £40 return on the train.

Premier Inn by the ground.

Maybe £20 to go to the cathedral, Hadrians Wall and museums.

We will take as much food as possible but might go out for an Indian meal on one of the nights.

Hopefully not more than £100 in total.

Staying in Cape Town - in Simon's Town

I have done it many times with a safari in the Pilanesburg or Garden Route or Jo.burg and all similar costs.

I am a bargain hunter so keep a watch on prices before I book.

£160 haven 4 nights in Filey, took all our own food, £100 spending money all in. Went in March, £260 total

£600 all in for 4 nights in Paris in April

£80 airport parking for a week all inclusive in May, Egypt (family trip paid for by grandparents for a big birthday)

£650 eurocamp accommodation 12 nights, £550 overnight ferry return to holland, £600 spending money all in (fuel, food, days out etc) in June. £1800 total

£350 eurocamp 7 nights, £300 ferry return to France, £160 4 nights Parkdean in Poole, 2 nights free with family in august. Estimate £600 spending money again. £1400 approx

£113 half board 4 nights at butlins in October (sharing a room with my friend and her DC). Estimate £100 spending money all in including petrol. £220 approx

We have 3 teens. 2 weeks in Scotland (one staying with family, one self catering), £3000 for accomodation and travel, probably another £1K for food and activities.

Not quite summer as its mid-September. This year it's 6 nights in Southampton for British science festival. £130 air BnB, £100 train fare. £30 food shop when I get there. I take my bicycle to get about. Probably £150 spending money for the odd meal out/sausage roll/fun money/shopping. Most of my entertainment will be the festival itself which is free.

Oh and my neighbours look after the pets (I look after theirs in return).
