How much are people paying to go on holiday this year?

Our stats:
2 adults 2 children
1 week in July to Lanzarote
Basic 2 star self catering apts, small pool, all clean and pleasant. No luxury.
£1800
Spending money approx £1500

We eat out for lunch and dinner each day, visit a music bar/play pool after dinner and do a few local day trips but kids happy with pool/beach/playparks. They could run up and down a wall beside stairs for hours!

I pass by some of the bigger hotels with the entertainment and activities and wonder if we would like that. Would anyone share how much they are paying for these types of holidays?

Just wondering how much people are paying for different holidays and also, as an aside, when is the best time to book for best deals?

Cost wise yeah prob cheaper to do AI.
But I don't really like buffets, and I doubt the food quality in 3* All inclusive in Spain would match that of eating out in a nice local restaurant.

Currently on a weeks holiday in Majorca, Jet2 villa/car hire for 4 adults ( me DH Ds1DS2 both in 20’s ) and Dd age 16 (child) its cost around £6000, allowing £2000 extra for meals out extra

So this has been a major holiday for us, tbf our eldest had paid his share-working FT, 2nd DS is still a student ( Phd) so cant afford it
Its a lovely villa, swimming pool, a Lidl close by! Not sure if we can afford it again but we booked it as DD has done her GCSES this year

Week in AI 5 star hotel (adults only) in Lanzarote, 2 adults, about 4k.

All my prices include spending money, transfers, airport fees, eating out etc where applicable.
2 holidays are all inclusive, 2 self catering.

Probably won't be much different next year, planning 2 cruises and week in Scotland so far.

10 days from end of July to canaries, 2 adults, one child with free child place, self catering. About £1800, plus taking about £2.5k spending but that’s to cover all food and excursions etc as haven’t pre booked anything yet.

We didn’t have a holiday as such but we came home from Taiwan “the long way”. 15 day cruise Yokohama to Vancouver, 2 weeks in Vancouver/San Francisco/Los Angeles/New York and planes fares between the places, a 7 day New York-Southampton cruise. For two people, about £7000 total. Seemed very reasonable for 22 days at sea and a fortnight in the US.

Just two adults here. Two weeks AI in St Lucia £7500, plus about £500 spend. Three nights Iceland £2000 plus £1000 spend, one week AI Crete, £3500, no real spend there, just tips, and two weeks in AI in Croatia coming up, £5000 plus, I reckon, about £800 spend as we will be out and about a lot there.

£5000 for five (me, DP, 21 year old twins and 13 year old) in a four bed pool villa in Bali. 14 nights total. And will spend a fraction of what we would in Europe

Spent £3K on a 14 night trip to Japan in April, that covered my flights, Airbnb, transport in Japan and spending money. My sons share was around £2.5K.
I then had 10 nights AI in Turkey in May and that cost me £475 as a solo traveller.
Looking to go away Sept/Oct for 10/14 nights which at the moment prices are high so will take a look at end of August.

We did 18 nights in Florida in late Spring, 2 adults one teenager. Probably came to about 12 - 15k. Rented a lovely private villa with a pool, had tickets for Disney/Universal, day at Discovery Cove, hire car, flights in premium economy, couple of nights in a Universal premium hotel. Didn’t eat out loads but did do Uber Eats to the villa a few times. Shopping spree in the Premium Outlets.

About 4 weeks ago I went to Rhodes in Greece for 5 nights sc so flights, a 1 bed apartment, coach transfers to and from airport cost me £370 and I booked it about 5 days before I went, I travelled solo.

About £3.5k for 10 nights all inclusive in Europe. But out of school holidays. Same would be double in the school holidays if not more.

We're not meant to be going away this year after a big holiday last year but have ended up booking a weekend in Disneyland Paris and Centre Parcs probably going to end up costing around 2k. Family of 5

Just under £300. For two of us.

£3,600 for a week in a gorgeous 5* hotel in Cyprus for two adults and one child. We booked quite late and I think we got a bargain.

3 nights Miami before cruise, 4 night Bahamas cruise all inclusive, one night Miami after cruise. Upgraded to yacht club first class part of ship total cost 6.5 k plus spending on top . Not bad in comparison to what others have spent 👍

Booked a year ago and paid in monthly installments.

Someone on the same holiday and hotel as us paid over £2000 more but had booked it 2 months before!

2500 euro for 10 nights in a beautiful air b n b in Galway. Spending money was probably around 1200 euro. 2 adults and two children went but the house could actually sleep 8.

Sadly couldn't afford it this year but usually 1200 ish for week in france plus spending/food. But take a lot with us to keep costs down.

Flights to Poland - £75 each return.
Train home, 2hrs from Heathrow £80 each.

Wow some of these numbers are eye-watering! DP and I have got a week in Kos next week, 4* half board with Tui, all in for £1,360 for both of us. We’ll probably spend about £400-£500 whilst there at the most. The most I’ve ever spent previously is £1,300 each for 10 days all-inclusive in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Around £600 for 5 nights - 4 in a static caravan in Wales and one extra night in a hotel in England on way - had beautiful weather and loved it. We do similar every year at various parts of UK ranging from £300-£500 for our four nights at the caravan parks and we also spend for activities / meals while away, but apart from the hotel night we ate out at lunch and in for breakfast and evening meal so keeps it down.

We have a motorhome which isn't for everyone but might give some of you how it compares, only 2 of us.

Five weeks in France for £3,000 total.
