It’s a day flight, 10 hours. Two of us. So total cost is £320. One way upgrade.

British Airways. Would you?

Yes

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 22/07/2024 08:03

I would too for 10 hours.

HowIrresponsible · 22/07/2024 08:04

No. 10 hours isn't that bad. £320 is a lot of spending money. What's the point for one way.

wonderingwhatsnext · 22/07/2024 08:04

Yes, most of that will be tax!

Verite1 · 22/07/2024 08:09

Yes definitely. Absolute bargain.

Andwegoroundagain · 22/07/2024 08:13

10 hours flight that is absolutely worth it

AutumnNymph · 22/07/2024 08:13

Yes!

Jellifer · 22/07/2024 08:28

I’d bite their hand off!

Hibernatalie · 22/07/2024 08:28

Yes I would

User100000000000000000001 · 22/07/2024 08:31

We did this once and was nicer but would be so much better if we had done it on the return night flight.

If you can easily afford it then its definitely more comfortable...but as PP said that's a good amount of spending money too...

CoffeeCatsAndVodka · 22/07/2024 08:35

Defnitely, wouldn't hesitate!

bestbefore · 22/07/2024 08:36

Check the flight configuration to see what sort of space you get

LlynTegid · 22/07/2024 08:37

No, I would not. I have shorter legs than average and so legroom is never an issue for me when flying.

fruitypancake · 22/07/2024 08:37

That sounds like a good deal , we have been quoted a lot more than that before

tanstaafl · 22/07/2024 08:38

Yep. No brainer for a 10 hour flight imo.
We’ve upgraded to p.e. Gatwick to Orlando for about the same.
Lovely flight.

consider joining the BA executive club for the Avios too.

Summerhillsquare · 22/07/2024 08:39

No, but then I wouldn't fly as the whole thing is insanity. Currently having the time of my life in Premium on Eurostar for an extra 20quid though, very much worth it!

Spirallingdownwards · 22/07/2024 08:39

No for the following reason:

the arms between the seats do not lift up in premium economy whereas they do in economy

Premium economy tends to fill up whereas often there are spare seats in economy. I found myself on an overnight flight once where premium was full. I ended up with a whole row in economy and could lift the arms and lie down.

I wouldn't for that price for a day flight but would for a night flight where the seat reclines a bit more and you have slightly more space to stretch legs and if the price were lower or I could use avios to pay the difference.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 22/07/2024 08:40

Yes, it's the legroom, I'm 5'10 and DH is 6'4 10 hours is a long time to be cramped

Teenagerantruns · 22/07/2024 08:41

Yes, l flew economy to Vegas last year, said l would never fly that distance again unless it was premium economy.

BeyondMyWits · 22/07/2024 08:42

Was upgraded once and found the armrests do not lift in the premium cabin. There was an empty seat next to me too... 😥Generally a bit more space, better food, smaller cabin... but £320 extra for a daytime flight for 2. Nope.

Do they give you seat choice for free? That would probably swing it for me.

elm26 · 22/07/2024 08:43

100% yes

MrsMitford3 · 22/07/2024 08:45

Absolutely.

I'm too tall and too old to fly 10 hours in economy any more.

Obviously depends on how much money that is to you but for me it is a no brainer!!!!

isthismylifenow · 22/07/2024 08:45

Is it one way to the holiday, or on the return?

If its the return and you are going right back to work, perhaps I would consider it. I would rather spend the 320 on holiday funds though personally.

Its a day flight. Its not that you are going to need a deep sleep and can fill the time eating and watching series/films.

Overthebow · 22/07/2024 08:50

depends if it’s a lot of money to you or not. If it is, then no, not for a day flight one way. Premium economy is good, you get more legroom and space, but it’s not worth spending loads on, it’s nothing like business class. If it’s not much money to you then yes I’d go for it.

Alicewinn · 22/07/2024 08:51

No, just get up and walk around to stretch your legs. The difference is tiny
