Probably not the right section, but I wondered what people thought about living somewhere they don’t live atm!

The Amalfi Coast in Italy 🇮🇹

Australia…Amalfi coast…kefalonia

Bigearringsbigsmile · 09/04/2024 13:36

Mallorca.
It's just beautiful and life would be 100% better

Crikeyalmighty · 09/04/2024 13:43

@Bigearringsbigsmile I would pick Palma in Majorca

PinkPondQueen · 09/04/2024 13:51

Stromboli. Probably not the safest place to live but I'd be willing to risk it! My happy place 😍

Love those as well. Australia might be too far away from anywhere, but fab whilst you’re there agreed! Byron Bay especially! Kefalonia stunning olde Greece 🇬🇷 so friendly as well. And Amalfi 🇮🇹 .. lots of love for Italy on this thread! Totally agree

I’ve never been to either of those places! What’s special about them?

Agree with Majorca . Beautiful island, friendly ,safe and only a 2hr flight for visitors.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/04/2024 15:38

@Lion400 Palma is a proper city like a small Barcelona, lots of palm trees, really good shops big and small- lovely bars and restaurants, shady squares, free public white sand beaches to either side within 10 minutes (and a good bus to get to them) good healthcare, hundreds of flights a day back to uk - all areas. Mallorca itself is beautiful with the exception of a few 'lads on tour' type resorts- very hilly in parts, lovely beaches, good roads - does get 'some' rain outside the late spring through to late summer months.

London, where I am already, but somewhere swankier. Richmond or Barnes or somewhere like Wimbledon Village.

PineappleAreApples · 09/04/2024 15:51

Australia... never gonna happen though

RefreshingCandour · 09/04/2024 16:19

I am not a fan of SW London at all, give me SE though any day! I’d love a little pied a terre in Greenwich or Blackheath. For the winter.

Summer I’d have 6 months in the northeast corner of Corfu.

Dartmoorcheffy · 09/04/2024 16:21

California or colorado. I have friends and family in both places and love it there. So envious of their lifestyles.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 09/04/2024 18:34

The way things are going here, maybe Venus.

Georgyporky · 09/04/2024 19:13

I wish I could afford to move back to London.
Worst thing I ever did was to move away to get a bigger property.

Somewhere, anywhere where it doesn’t bloody rain all of the time!

HarrietSchulenberg · 09/04/2024 23:21

In a specific house that I've known since childhood. It was empty for years then suddenly had a new owner without being advertised for sale, and I heard that they planned on either flipping it or renting out as a holiday home. I recently approached the new owner and asked to be considered if selling and was told they wanted nearly half a million quid for it! It is in no way worth that (worth about half that, max) but they said they have several other people who've approached them so are basically whipping up a bidding war.
Bastards.
