Nothing concrete yet so hoping for the following. Am done with long hauls and concentrating on Europe now.

Early May - 3 days Rome and 7 days in Ostia Lido. Day trip (maybe overnight) to Herculaneum and obv going to Ostia Antica. The stones and statues trip lol!

Never go in school hols so next one is early September one week. To Munich, then to Berchdesgaden and into Austria. Nothing definite yet, but will be my first time in Southern Germany.

Early November to Antwerp, Ghent then to Ypres for Remembrance Day at the Menin Gate.

December, a few weeks over Christmas and New year at my sister's little apartment in Estepona near Gibraltar. Will never spend Christmas anywhere else now!.

Am very fortunate I can do this I know that. Might add on a few trips here and there for two or three days each, you'd never know!

I'm so sad reading all of these.. I'm happy for everyone but I wish I wasn't so poor😂

SnowfallSnowball · 24/01/2024 20:31

Solo trip to Italy in Feb, my teen daughter and I are off to Thailand over Easter. Hoping for another city break later in the year and I’m still deciding on where to go for Christmas/NY. I like to plan way in advance!

whiteroseredrose · 24/01/2024 20:58

Hoping to go to Istanbul for a few days with friends in May (if they can get a dog sitter).

Also got 10 days off in August. Having had absolute bangers for the last decade, we now have a newish car, so might drive to Europe via the Eurotunnel. Looking at Alsace or the Black Forest.

EdgarsTale · 24/01/2024 22:33

We’ve got a short break in France, a week in Cornwall & a week in Portugal booked so far. Still need to book our summer holiday.

SunflowerSeeds123 · 24/01/2024 22:40

I'm going through a divorce right now. Lots of sorting out to do, but it's mostly amicable. My parents are taking my DD & me away for a week in Benalmadena near Marbella. I am very grateful because I would not have been able to afford this on my own.

Nothing else planned.

MissAmbrosia · 25/01/2024 11:03

We are going to Puglia in May, on the train via Innsbruck, Rimini, Verona and Munich. I have a trip planned to Kosovo in March to see a friend and we think we are doing a friend's big birthday trip to Berlin in the summer. I am thinking of something for September but not sure - I never do package holidays but am quite fancying a swim up room and posh sun beds.

Lashestoashes · 25/01/2024 11:47

I think Switzerland in March but it’s a secret surprise holiday for my birthday so that’s just my guess!

Prague in April for my other half’s birthday.

Las Vegas and either Los Angeles or Colorado in August!

Clearinguptheclutter · 25/01/2024 11:50

Am really shocked by other people’s holiday budgets
if they don’t have kids and aren’t tied to school hols then that will make a big difference I guess.

we have two kids. Planning a mini break in London in feb, a five day trip to Belgium at Easter and two weeks driving around France (including Disney) in early summer. Possibly a few days in Anglesey late summer . But that feels a lot to me and we are a high earning family.

Kangaboo · 25/01/2024 12:13

@Clearinguptheclutter I was thinking the same about how many trips people on this thread can afford and how much annual leave to use! In real life I know a lot of DCs friends don't get to go abroad on holiday ever due to cost. My DC are older now so it's getting to be the equivalent of paying for 4 adults and we can't all fit comfortably in one room anymore so thats increased the price too!

We're going to Majorca in summer and that's probably it.

StoneColdAlibi · 25/01/2024 12:16

Vietnam in March
South of France for a few days in July and a week in September
Porto for a long weekend in November

Agree we live in a reasonably well off area and some people manage 1-2 weeks in the med or camping in France but lots don’t go abroad at all.
