Have decided on Spain in the summer for 10 days but don't know where to go for the other holidays so tell me your plans!

OP posts:
PizzaPastaWine · 25/01/2024 17:19

Andalusia - hiking with DP

Krakow - Easter with DC

Cornwall - DCs football tour. May.

Pembrokeshire - Camping with DC. Whitson

Crete - DC. August.

I literally live in the same jeans/tops for years so I can afford these trips. I also book the moment Easyjet add their new flights - Crete flights cost under £500 for 3 of us.

Ifulikepinacoladas · 25/01/2024 21:06

Croatia in July - me, DH, DS and we're hoping DD will join us.
Majorca in Aug - all 4 of us
Ibiza in sep - me and DH

Mixed luck with holidays last year. Me and Dh had fab holidays separately with friends but our only family holiday was cut very short when we were evacuated from our accommodation because of the wild fires in Rhodes. Hoping to make up for that this year.

A Butlins big weekender & 10 days in Cyprus so far. Would like to book at least a couple of short breaks, hopefully in Europe, but will depend on time & money. Very jealous to read many of your plans which seem a lot compared to most people I know but I guess this is a holiday forum!

Spain in February and December, city sightseeing both times.
London in April to visit friends and see some shows and tourist attractions.
Belfast and Dublin in May.
A few weekends away to tie in with DH's hobby (yes, it's that one) or mine.
We'll probably book a cottage in the UK for a week during the summer.

WombatBombat · 25/01/2024 23:22

Probably a week/10 days in Majorca.

Long weekends in Rome and Porto are on my list.

Probably a long weekend in London too, never taken 3 year old DS.

I'm fortunate. Single, no kids, no mortgage, 45 and decent inheritance. I'm going to London, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Greece & Spain (for the summer) then New York, Vienna, London and Paris again for Autumn/winter. I'll be seeing family in Rome and various parts of Tuscany at some point too. I've had a horrible few years and life is short so I feel I deserve it.

Edited

Crikey, how much annual leave do you have? I have a lot of leave (10.years NHS service) but I'd struggle to fit in they many holidays, especially if I wanted to also leave days for emergencies, or for visiting friends or family in the UK

Matchyz · 26/01/2024 08:23

Singapore and Vietnam - late June

Youngest off to uni in Sept so DH and I are FREE - well, jobs and cat notwithstanding 😂

DH going to Vegas with friends for a birthday - Nov

I am going with DSis somewhere for her birthday - also Nov. Not booked yet, probably European city break for 4 nights

German Christmas market with friends - 2 nights late Nov maybe Berlin not booked it yet

DH will whine we aren’t going away together so probably book something for us Feb 2025. European city for a few nights

Kittycat333 · 26/01/2024 10:01

@RichardMarxisinnocent I'm not working at the moment and just taking time out. I'm a total lotus eater! I love your username - obviously it was the Sherrif!

OhamIreally · 26/01/2024 12:31

Week in Canaries Feb half term, Northern Spain 10 days in August.

I love holidays and travel and prioritise it. I buy my clothes in TK Maxx, run a cheap car, and always try to get the best value deals.

Am really shocked by other people’s holiday budgets
if they don’t have kids and aren’t tied to school hols then that will make a big difference I guess.

we have two kids. Planning a mini break in London in feb, a five day trip to Belgium at Easter and two weeks driving around France (including Disney) in early summer. Possibly a few days in Anglesey late summer . But that feels a lot to me and we are a high earning family.

DP and I don't have kids and believe me most of these plans are WAY beyond us!
We're both self-employed, so don't like to be unavailable for too long, plus obviously don't get paid holidays.
I want to go away over December/Xmas.Maybe South or Central America. Saving up already. Other than that, probably nothing, although I'll be desperate for a break by July or August.

FizzyStream · 26/01/2024 18:34

We're also going to Spain in the summer for 10 days! Staying near my BIL and his kids in Murcia. Got a nice air bnb with a pool.

Also going to Northumberland for a week in the May half term with my dad, stepmum, brother and his girlfriend.

Nothing else planned.

Nw22 · 26/01/2024 18:39

This year so far we have booked
weekend in London
weekend in Pembrokeshire to visit family

Also have Egypt booked for Feb 2025 and a Carribbean Cruise got my 50th in June 2025

ShortHairedCat · 26/01/2024 18:49

Japan in Late September

All with DH
we are late 50’s and finally been able to shake off the kids/young adults. Holidays become a lot cheaper when there are suddenly only two of you!

Tour of Corsica in October, and Devon/Cornwall in June.

We're late forties, children are adults, we can buy extra annual leave at work. We can go when it's cheap and there's only two of us!

exLtEveDallas · 26/01/2024 19:22

We managed to find a great deal for 3 weeks in Egypt in the summer hols - costing us less than 2 weeks did last year!

Hoping for a weekend away at Easter somewhere in the UK and a week in the Oct hols somewhere cheap and cheerful Spain/Morocco/Tunisia.

Will also do a couple of nights break with DD whenever she's available. That will be lovely, but not exactly fun as DDs breaks are always shopping trips that cost me a fortune (but worth it to be with my girl ❤️)

CraftyGin · 26/01/2024 19:28

We have a weekend in Toronto. Because we are flying Icelandair, we are having a day in Reykjavik.

We have nothing else planned, but I wouldn't mind a cruise in September.
