Apologies if this thread already exists but I love hearing people’s holiday plans!

We’ve just booked for Canada and it’s got me excited for 2024 travel! Tell me what you’ve got planned for next year?

I love having a holiday or break to look forward to.

I was in Vancouver at Easter as part of a holiday taking in Las Vegas, San Diego, LA then cruising to Vancouver stopping off along the way. Vancouver is a fab city in case you're heading there OP.

I've spent the last few days trying to decide where to go as our main couple holiday at Easter. We've narrowed it down to Lake Garda.

We're planning a weekend break in Belfast with a night in Dublin for early February. We have friends outside London so will probably fly over to them before the summer.

I'm probably going to Australia during the summer to visit my son who emigrated two months ago. He's living in Melbourne so I'll probably break up the journey and stay a night or two in Dubai both ways. My DH will not go as he hates long haul flights especially that far.

We usually go on a sun holiday break for around 4 nights somewhere sunny in the autumn.

We did Canada in 2022 and it was our best ever holiday - we LOVED it! Vancouver Island in particular was a highlight.

We've booked Sri Lanka for July, lots of travelling around, but if beach, bit of culture, plus a short safari. Can't wait.

We also have a week skiing at Easter (pray for snow!) and I'm mulling over Madeira for Oct half term, but nothing booked yet...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/12/2023 16:43

Just starting to think about it. So far I'm thinking maybe London at February half term, Belfast at Easter and perhaps Oslo in the summer, although this is subject to lots of procrastination.

DaveClifton · 31/12/2023 16:45

*bit of beach FFS (fat thumbs)

That sounds amazing @honeyrider ! Vancouver is awesome. I haven’t done the other places but would love to. I’m off to Ontario this time, have been many times as have family there but it’s DH’s first time.

Lake Garda is amazing!! You’ll love it. I’ve never been to Australia but am increasingly tempted…

Trying to decide between an African safari holiday, & Vietnam+Cambodia for a major holiday. Minor holiday a tour of either Turkey or India.

Sri Lanka sounds incredible! Didn’t know you could safari there… might have to add to the list…

I'm going to Sweden for a few days in April to visit son who will be on an Erasmus scheme there for a few months. In May have a long weekend in Suffolk. June is a camper van trip to Iceland for 2 weeks. Will probably go to Finland September/October. Would like to fir in a long distance walk but think I might struggle this year.

HoldMeCloserTonyDancer · 31/12/2023 17:38

Sandals Barbados in March

Holidayqueen1 · 31/12/2023 17:57

Ooh Canada will be amazing! And Sri Lanka is incredible too!
we are touring the Yucatan in July, and Borneo in October half term, just looking at May half term and trying to convince my husband that Iceland won’t be horrifically expensive. We will try for a weekend somewhere too.

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 31/12/2023 17:59

Oooh Canada sounds epic.

After much deliberation and juggling of budget, I've booked an Alaskan cruise in summer and am tagging on a couple of days in Seattle too. :)

The cruise I did from LA to Vancouver was a repositioning cruise and once we disembarked it was going to d the Alaskan cruises for the season. It was the Sapphire Princess.

We've spent the last couple of days thinking about holidays for next year! We've almost definitely decided to do 5 days in Marrakesh in September then a week in Cyprus in November, never been to either. We want to avoid school holidays and the hottest months, also we have some big running events planned which we need to work around.

We did our time having to go away in the school holidays, it's lovely planning breaks for just the 2 of us!

MinnieMountain · 31/12/2023 18:16

I’m going for a weekend in Avignon in April whilst DH takes DS skiing. Also an organised swimming holiday in Mallorca in September.

Family holidays- Norfolk in May, 2 weeks in Pembrokeshire in August and a few days in Munich.

Panicmode1 · 31/12/2023 18:45

We are skiing in Canada in Feb half term, I'm going on a girls trip to Warsaw in March, we are looking at Sri Lanka in Dec, and so may not do anything much in the summer....poss a week in Cornwall or something!

Loving hearing about others' holiday plans....safe journeys everyone!

Twilightstarbright · 31/12/2023 19:05

@DaveClifton I’m contemplating Madeira for Oct half term too.

we are going to Brazil over the Easter holidays and not booked anything yet but trying to persuade DH that we should go away for Christmas 2024.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 31/12/2023 19:13

Not much because there is an Unpleasant Thing at work that hopefully will finally be over in May. But it has meant we haven't been able to make any proper holiday plans for 2 years.
we are off to Venice in March fir 5 days then if all goes well with UT then we will be having a fabulous family holiday in july, somewhere lovely and all inclusive. We will go away in May for a city break, possibly Helsinki. And October half term will be another city break, probs Turin or Florence.

Kwam31 · 31/12/2023 19:17

Paris in March, Budapest in November, looking for somewhere for Summer, the thread has gave me lots of ideas to look at.

Finallybreathe · 31/12/2023 19:18

I did Canada end of 2021. What a fantastic place!

In February, DH & I are going to Australia for just over 2.5 weeks. We are flying into Melbourne to spend 5 nights there, then 6 nights in Tasmania and another 6 nights in Sydney. All in business as well so hoping that’ll help with the jetlag.

In April, hoping to visit London for the night for my birthday.

June, going to Budapest for maybe 4-5 nights

September, going to Istanbul for 4 nights

November, going to Japan hopefully as a very belated honeymoon trip!

ellecf21 · 31/12/2023 19:20

Tenerife in Feb and IKOS Aria in Kos booked so far (just booked in the last couple of days!). Easy holidays not too far with our toddler for now. Can't wait for both of the above! Will most certainly do another European destination in Sept then a city break in Nov.

Footprintsinthesand · 31/12/2023 19:29

Majorca in June. So excited. Haven't been abroad since 2018! It will be our first time taking the kids (4 and 2) anywhere other than a cottage in the UK, so a bit nervous but really looking forward to it!

Also have a week at Haven in Tenby booked for July

HowDidThisHappenDinesh · 31/12/2023 19:31

Can’t tag everyone but all the plans sound amazing! I love Finland and want to go back for a weekend this summer.

So far we have planned:

Visiting family in Canada and Lanzarote (need to book Lanzo but we go every year)
Family hol to France in May half term

Along with Finland I’d like to do a weekend for our anniversary this summer or have a hot week somewhere, looking at Egypt or Morocco.. but family commitments may have eaten up the budget this year 😅

We are saving for a big Japan trip in 2025! It’s our dream destination. Have the best time 🥳

I would love to go to Canada but don’t know where to start. What was your itinerary please if you don’t mind me asking?

Can you dive ? You MUST get some cenotes in if you can. Angelita was the highlight of my diving exploits. Unbelievable
