Apologies if this thread already exists but I love hearing people’s holiday plans!

We’ve just booked for Canada and it’s got me excited for 2024 travel! Tell me what you’ve got planned for next year?

Hi @ZeroFucksGivenToday and everyone else who’s saving for Japan! We went in October half term last year and it was INCREDIBLE! It’s actually a lot cheaper when you’re there than we planned for and transport etc is fab! @ZeroFucksGivenToday April is peak cherry blossom time and everything is much more expensive - you may already know this but just in case- things get booked up way way in advance! Whenever you go, you’ll love it. We’re planning a return trip. Thinking about the Japanese people today with the earthquake and hoping they’re ok

We’re going in Feb!

To Sandals? Fourth visit to Barbados but first to Sandals x

RocksOn · 01/01/2024 21:20

Yes, fourth to sandals and 5th to Barbados.

EvesamtsirhC · 01/01/2024 21:31

We're taking DC to Disneyworld. Never been before and this is our first holiday for 7 years. DC are excited just to be going to an airport, never mind the rest 😂

buckeejit · 01/01/2024 21:33

I want to go somewhere fab in February for a couple of weeks, myself & dh & ds-14 & dd-10. We've only ever done Majorca but I'd like a one off nice memorable family holiday.

If anyone can recommend a cruise, or something they think great, I'd be interested! Dd is a lounger, ds wants culture & ticking stuff off. I'd like somewhere outside Europe & warm, but not too stressful!

KatharinaRosalie · 01/01/2024 21:34

Mauritius in February. For spring break, kids demanded Europapark. For summer, France Atlantic coast, starting in Nantes and flying back from Bordeaux, staying in Vannes, Ile de Re, Biscarrosse. A week or so in Estonia. Xmas will be Thailand, not booked yet.

Doyouthinktheyknow · 01/01/2024 21:35

It’s all about the cruises for us this year.

Canaries this month, Croatia and Italy later in the spring and Norway and Iceland this summer.

And a short break or 2 in the UK I’m sure.

KatharinaRosalie · 01/01/2024 21:36

buckeejit we did a Caribbean cruise in February one year and was lovely - different island every day, enough time to explore and see local sights, but low stress as you go back to boat in the evening.

What was your itinerary if you do t mind me asking?

Wigeon · 01/01/2024 21:39

Woah, so many holidays already planned! We did two house swaps last year (one in the UK and the other to the Netherlands), via a house swapping website, which we enjoyed so much we're hoping to do the same this year.

So it's looking like we will be able to do a swap in July to Sweden. Also looking to sort a UK swap in Easter. DH wants to do Paris in February half term - we were going to go in April 2020 and funnily enough that got cancelled ...

mizu · 01/01/2024 21:42

@countrygirl99 so glad Erasmus is still going after Brexit. DD1 went to Latvia on an exchange in year 10 of school a few years ago and it was such an adventure for her.

Going to Edinburgh for a few days in Feb half term to visit her at uni.

Will hopefully do a week somewhere hot in the summer with DD1 and DD2 too. Usually don't book until later on in the year.

Yes, fourth to sandals and 5th to Barbados.

So Sandals must be nice then. Hope so x

tadpolelove · 01/01/2024 21:46

Lanzarote this Thursday. And gods knows I need it after the relentlessness of Christmas cooking and entertaining 😅

Holidayqueen1 · 01/01/2024 21:49

Hi @Chouxpastryishard , of course I don’t mind! We had 4 days in Tokyo, bullet train to Kyoto for 4, 2 nights in Osaka, a night in Hiroshima, bullet train back to Tokyo for 2 nights via Himeji castle. We were going to go to Hakone but dh hates heights and got freaked out by ropeway so we rearranged. It was amazing, lots of walking ( average 10 miles per day!), fabulous food and the temples were stunning! Lovely, lovely people too

P0ppet · 01/01/2024 21:52

We are going to Mauritius! Im so excited and already wondering how we are going to fit everything in haha

It’s really nice. Hope you love it.

MirandaWest · 01/01/2024 22:03

Thinking about a cottage in Northumberland in July. Haven’t been there for nearly 5 years.

staycaysandvacays · 01/01/2024 22:05

Babington House in Feb
Heckfield Place in April
Mykonos in May
The Tawny in June
Maldives in November
Somewhere in the English Countryside in December for a friends getaway

uggmum · 01/01/2024 22:20

I love hearing about other people's holidays.
I also love travelling.

I have the following booked for this year -
Feb- Copenhagen for the weekend
Feb- 12 nights in the Maldives in an over water villa
July-5 nights in Nice
Sept- 9 nights in Punta Cana

June- possibly a Norwegian cruise but still deciding

Teenangels · 01/01/2024 22:29

We are away sking at the moment, I am currently in bed, tired after last night!

We are in SA for Easter, and we are going to the US, Carolina's, Texas and Miami and the going to PR in the school holidays.

Finally we are off to Australia for Christmas and New Year.

I love a holiday and probably will go on a few city breaks, hopefully Copenhagen in December.

PegasusReturns · 01/01/2024 22:35

No idea yet - spent day thinking about holidays so this thread is good timing.

I’ve been in a bit of a holiday rut post covid - I think subconsciously not being too adventurous in case of cancellations so we’ve done skiing in France for feb mid term; marbella at Easter; Greece at beginning of summer. Marbella end of summer and NYC at oct mid term.

want to do something different this year

PegasusReturns · 01/01/2024 22:37

We did have skiing booked for this Feb, but will cancel as we’re away skiing currently and youngest has broken their collar bone.

anothernamechangeagainsndagain · 01/01/2024 22:40

All planned due to events this year, twice fir DD's wedding, a trip planned to an event (booked prior to wedding being announced) and my honeymoon which isn't booked yet but we have a couple of ideas

countrygirl99 · 02/01/2024 04:24
