London to Dubrovnik by train, bus and ferry.

I loved the trip but it certainly disabused me of the idea that UK trains are the worst, we had problems with seat booking swaps/missing carriage/cancelled train/delayed arrivals in London, Frankfurt, Austria and Slovenia.

Something like dar es salaam to former Zairean border. About 1600km direct. All buses and hitchhiking

UK Midlands to Switzerland.

A friend flew to Australia and cycled back to London using ferries where necessary.

Geneva to Bordeaux to Bristol via the Chunnel over 2000miles driving
Unknown to me it was my final road trip with my aunt before she died and was awesome.

More interesting travel wise I did Alexandria to Cario to Luxor and then Aswan and then back to Cario in Egypt by combination of multiple trains, felluca boat and coach as a student - Which was almost 2000miles

Northern Spain, but the ferry to Bilbao did most of the work.

On another trip we got the ferry to Amsterdam, cycled to Berlin then got the train back to Amsterdam.

Flossflower · 07/10/2023 17:52

Oh I just remembered that I went right across Canada by train. This was many years ago and these trains might not be running now. On the way out Buffalo to Toronto by bus. Then Toronto to Vancouver by train, in stages. On the way back Vancouver to Montreal by train and Montreal to New York by bus.

Belfast to South of France on a coach. Many campervan trips from NI via Scotland and England to Italy and Spain.
