raythchay to France

But from where, to where? Dover to Calais, or Inverness to Nice?

Morocco! Friend of mine and I went on a two month long "no plan" meandering holiday, all over Europe mostly. Ended up in Tangier for several days.

She had a horrendous fear of flying so the whole trip was ferries, trains, buses or cars only. And at one point a pony and trap. It was great!

Got as far as Istanbul (and back) while interrailing many moons ago.

VanCleefArpels · 04/10/2023 23:28

Train to Avignon from London via Paris. Could have gone on to Marseilles

Ratfinkstinkypink · 04/10/2023 23:28

Kiev, many years ago.

ManchesterGirl2 · 04/10/2023 23:28

Florence. Paris to Milan is an easy train.

MaggieFS · 04/10/2023 23:28

About 2000km across Australia.

Chicago to New Orleans (and back again) on the train. Getting on for 1000 miles, I think?

roycroppersshopper · 04/10/2023 23:30

Sicily, via Paris, Milan and Rome. Via Florence and Turin on the way home. Hate flying, love trains.

MaggieFS · 04/10/2023 23:32

Actually I once did six weeks overland in South America which might have been further. A lot of overnight buses...

DynamicK · 04/10/2023 23:32

London to Lake Como

PoseasRadicalActuallyMisogynistic · 04/10/2023 23:33

A month interrailing round Europe must have been a few thousand miles, recently a cruise around the Scottish isles from England

Me too! Travelled by boat many many years ago.
Also Spain by train, Italy by car via France and Switzerland. The train to Spain was horrendous, back in the days when everybody smoked, sharing a sleeper cabin with smokers ( all of us schoolchildren) was dire!

ProvisionsOnTheDock · 04/10/2023 23:35

Scotland to Belgium on the train.
@angerelle that's one of my dream trips!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 04/10/2023 23:37

Did a driving holiday in a classic car about 30 years ago and got as far as Gibraltar. Wanted to take the car over to Africa, but couldn't get insurance cover (so we cheated and flew over on a day trip).

TheUsualChaos · 04/10/2023 23:37

Cartagena to Bunos Aires then across to Santiago. Well over 8000km. Lots of long bus journeys.

TheClitterati · 04/10/2023 23:38

To Eastern Turkey via France, Spain, Italy, Greece, and then back to uk.

In camper van.

RantyAnty · 04/10/2023 23:41

Multiple cross country trips across the US and Australia.
