Which resort/hotel? Majorca, All inclusive with young DC

Just that really.
Decided to go abroad next year when DC will be 5 and 2 (almost 3) Will be first time on a plane. Mainly due to flight length/times and frequency from our nearest Airport we've decided on Majorca, end of July.
Looking for recommendations (or heads up on ones to avoid) for hotels/resorts. Ideally all inclusive, 4/5 with lot's for the kids.

have a look at Camp de Mar, very volley and family friendly place. Avoid Palmanova (its basically Magaluf)

Cala D’Or and Puerto Pollensa are my two favourite resorts I think - I’ll have a think about specific hotel recommendations

Port Soller is also lovely but there’s not quite so much for kids I don’t think

What sort of budget?

Playa Mar hotel in Puerto Pollensa

Agree with the above - Puerto Pollensa is beautiful, as is Cala D'or. Port Soller is equally lovely. I really didn't like Santa Ponsa (too sprawling), Calas De Mallorca (sea is treacherous), and Palma Nova which as mentioned is basically sprawl from Magaluf.

I didn't really like Alcudia that much either. It's a massive resort.

Following for ideas

Zafiro can Picafort has a nice splash pool and playground, but unfortunately no childcare for children under 4, if that’s something you’re after.

We have just come back and had the most amazing time at Tui Grupotel Majorca Mar in Sa Coma. The accommodation was some of the best I've stayed in, grounds well kept, entertainment excellent, food excellent, directly on the coast. Only downside was transfer from airport (would advise a private transfer as it took nearly 2 hours for a 50 minute journey)

it was just rammed - absolutely jam packed. The photos on the blurb show those beautiful empty pools - the reality is there will be 60/70 people in them at that time of year, it’s just so busy. And the evening entertainment was either sitting right near the very loud stage, or on sunloungers by the pool which seemed odd. Plus the usual absolutely ridiculous fights for sunbeds from 8am onwards, despite all the rules and signs. No a La carte only buffet. And a lot of steps and no lifts - which if you have a buggy may get tedious very quickly. I would honestly avoid Cala d’or at that very high season time - the beaches were rammed too, towels on the sand shoulder to shoulder. The town centre used to be quite nice, one off little shops and boutiques - but now it’s very much shops full of tat all selling the same naff things. It had vastly changed in the 8 years since I last went.

Pollensa at least has the long stretch of beach which may be preferable.

Oh that’s such a shame to hear about Cala D’Or! We used to go a lot but haven’t been back to Majorca for a couple of years.

I haven’t been to that hotel personally but have lots of clients who enjoy it - many of whom go back year after year. There are some there currently, so I’ll be very interested to hear what they say when they get back.

I have heard from lots of people that Majorca is very very busy at the moment. Did you notice a difference in the other resorts too?

There are two Zafiro hotels in Can Picafort, very close to each other. We have stayed at Zafiro Mallorca twice and it is a brilliant hotel for families, beautifully spotless with lots of pools and fun stuff on, great entertainment too. Can Picafort is quite a small resort with a nice beach and plenty of restaurants and shops

Transfer to Can Picafort is 45 mins/1 hour...a private transfer would speed it up if you can stretch to that

Puerto Pollensa is an idyllic resort with small children. Lovely safe beach with the occasional well maintained playground, upmarket, no noisy nightlife with hoodlums, nice places like old town Pollensa and Alcudia ( the Roman old town, not the port) to visit etc. The Port is full of Hoposa hotels. Some won’t be great with kids but we did stay at the Pollensamar apartments a few years back just one block back from beach. If you book a top room on front you may get a sea view through the gap in the frontline buildings.
Alternatively, we had a few idyllic but expensive holidays 7/8 years back at the Protur Biomar and occasionally the Protur Sa Coma Playa both in Sa Coma. Don’t know if any good now TUI branded. Was a Fantastic holiday complex with great facilities including a water park, safari park and great facilities for small children, play parks etc. It’s part of a group of hotels all together - avoid Protur Safari Park. The Biomar in particular had great staff and food.
Sa Coma isn’t the nicest resort but it’s safe enough and there are nice places nearby to visit like Arta.

Puerto Pollensa gets my vote. We stayed at the Cabot Pollensa Park with similar age children and it was nice - not amazing but I don't love AI as I like going out to different places for food. I did think it was value for money though. They had entertainment for the DC and a kids club but I didn't use that.

However, I now love the resort and have been back a couple of times since (SC).

Pollensa Park now seems to have more facilities for smaller children - a splash park, for example. The beach is lovely at that end and it is a nice flat stroll into the port.

Transfer is 45mins to 1hr.

Does your local airport go to Menorca? It’s so much nicer than Mallorca and it’s completely family friendly.

When DC were younger and similar ages to yours, we enjoyed holidays at Insotel Cala Mandía Resort

We stayed in the protur aparthotel in cala bona. Very nice . Kids enjoyed the food and entertainment, and short walk to the town

We had a week in Zafiro Can Picafort earlier this summer. I thought it was excellent. When you say “lots for the kids” what are you really thinking? It has a fun splash area with slides that your 5 year old will be on the older side for, but the real draw is the “bouncing belly” which I have never seen anywhere else and is great fun. Has a small amusement area (pay extra for air hockey etc) and also those bungee trampoline things within the hotel, 5€ for 10 mins but only in the evenings and queues are HUGE if you don’t get there as soon as they open. Usual mini disco, a very basic mini golf (free) We didn’t use the kids’ club (DS is 7 and a refuser) but there were definitely leaders about, and dressed-up mascots.

It was very clean, lovely food with plenty of kids’ options and great desserts. A nice touch was having your all inclusive wristband also incorporate a door entry tag, so no carrying room keys about separately.

I thought that the town was a bit shabby/tacky and didn’t see the “nice beach” that others have mentioned- perhaps that was a bus ride away. But we didn’t need it.

Beach is really nice at Can Picafort - not sure how you'd miss it? Unless previous poster didn't go down to the front but most restaurants are along there.
