husband wanted holiday so he can proceed to sunbathe all day (it’s very hot) and just sleep after evening meal.

I would much rather be at home. Day 2 of 7, hurrah!

You don't need to force someone else to enjoy what you want to do. Do it regardless.

Well, one week of a family holiday doesn't seem that much to ask, and your DD presumably doesn't require that much attention. Can't you get a book or some Netflix or something and try to roll with it?

Why did you book or agree to go if you didn't want to?!?! Surely he could have just gone on his own?

Sunbathing and sleeping is what some people want to do on holiday. It's not exactly outrageous of him.

Can't you and DD go off together and do something you find more fun / interesting?

At home I’d be cooking, walking the dog, biking, seeing friends, studying, drawing, sewing, watching comedy in the evenings.

At present husband is snoring and DD is on her phone with headphones on.

Oh well when he falls asleep after dinner, go out with your DD. Find a bar with a bit of music playing. Sit outside enjoying the chilled out nights under the stars. Even if DD is glued to her phone, have a couple of cocktails or wines and enjoy.

I’d happily sunbathe and sleep on holiday-along with watching films, reading my book, eating nice food and drinking nice drinks.

What do you want to do and why is him sunbathing getting in your way? Go sightseeing, go swimming, go walking, read a book, go shopping!

Are you joined at the hip to your husband? Utterly dependent on him? No? So you can CHOOSE to go do something! Leave him on his lounger and go have some fun for you (DD can choose to stay or go with you).

I've never let anyone stop me doing something I want to do.
