What are your plans for St Petersburg Clippity? We went on a Baltic cruise last summer and really enjoyed it.

Bunbaker - fly to Pula, staying on the coast nearby, Banjole. Got an apartment so can eat in some nights maybe. Is it really really expensive? Eeek - best get saving!

There are six of us - two adults, four kids. We are travelling from our home in Cornwall, to Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye for a week in August, then will visit friends and relatives in Scotland and Yorkshire. Can't wait!

Forgot to say I have twins (8) and twins who'll be 4.

LovewhereIlive I think it depends where you come from. If you are used to London prices then you wouldn't find Croatia expensive. We live in South Yorkshire and found eating out to be similar to or slightly dearer than eating out at home. We were surprised at how expensive the wine was, given that they are a wine producing country.

So Croatia isn't expensive like say Switzerland, but it isn't cheap.

This is such a great thread!

We're going to Florida in 3 weeks (it wouldn't be my first choice of destination but DH is going to a conference there first). A week in my parents place in the south of France in September. Moving house and jobs in July. And big family weddings in August and October. DD is 15 months. Busy busy Grin.

I'm interested in those with small DCs; do you find it easier to do one long holiday / year or several short breaks? I'm surprised at the number of people on this thread who opt for several short breaks...

OH is self employed and can't afford to be on holiday for more than a week at a time. We always choose somewhere with WiFi so he can check his emails.
