DS hasn't had one of his modules marked yet, so not sure if his result will be finalised by today.

juicy0 · 07/07/2022 10:06

@icanbewhatiwant how frustrating, so easy to misunderstand texts and emojis, I struggle to keep up! I'm trying to remember was your DS a geography undergrad?

icanbewhatiwant · 07/07/2022 11:44

@juicy0 biology. He's messaged to tell me it's 6am there. No mention of results. I was tempted to send WTAF like he'd send to me. But I don't swear in normal life...so I won't via text either. But he is teasing. I just sent "have a nice day" instead. They were getting an early bus from Miami to Key West this morn. So I don't suppose I'll hear anymore.

LouisCatorze · 07/07/2022 14:55

DS made a flying visit home for a trip out. He checked to see if he'd got his finals result before he left today but nothing yet (this was mid-morning).

Maybe your DS was pulling your leg @icanbewhatiwant ? I would use WTAF on this occasion, for sure!

icanbewhatiwant · 07/07/2022 15:06

@LouisCatorze I'm sure he has his result. He's just not telling me. It's annoying me now. I'm starting to think it's a bad result. I can't see why else he wouldn't tell me. Ds2 would do exactly this. Not Ds1 though. We are on holiday when A level results come in for ds2 he is staying home with ds1. I know he won't tell me his A level grades or whether he's got his firm place. That's just how he is....finds it hilarious but ds1 isn't usually like that.

GoldenRuby · 07/07/2022 15:37

News just in...DS has heard. It's a 2:1, very happy. We are incredibly proud of him given that he attended a special school from the age of 9 and we didn't think he would pass a GCSE in English, and now he has written a dissertation. Next stop PE teacher training in a school commutable from home.

icanbewhatiwant · 07/07/2022 15:47

@GoldenRuby great news. Well done to your Ds.

GoldenRuby · 07/07/2022 15:48

Thanks @icanbewhatiwant . I hope yours gets what they wanted (and tells you soon!)

LouisCatorze · 07/07/2022 15:57

@GoldenRuby that's fantastic news. Well done to your DS!

@icanbewhatiwant it's sort of secretive isn't it? I can imagine DS1 doing similar although not necessarily with his degree result (although perhaps he already is!). He managed to get all the way through secondary school without us even knowing the names of most of his friendship group! DD is the complete opposite. She likes to share the news, good and bad!

boys3 · 07/07/2022 17:40

@GoldenRuby well done to your DS.

same result for DS2 through on email in the last hour or so.

fingers crossed for 2.1s or higher for all the DCs of all those on the thread, posters or lurkers.

GoldenRuby · 07/07/2022 17:41

Good news @boys3!

NotSorry · 07/07/2022 19:49

DS2 and his gf got theirs confirmed today - DS got a 1st and his gf 2:1 can’t believe their time is at an end! I remember joining this thread when ds got in through clearing

icanbewhatiwant · 07/07/2022 20:58

Ds made me wait 24 hours before telling me he got 2:1 that is what he wanted. Not sure why he made me wait so long.

Well done to all dc's. Weird that it's all over.

icanbewhatiwant · 07/07/2022 20:59

Well...apart from graduation. Has anyone had an itinerary for graduation day? Ds says he's had nothing.

boys3 · 07/07/2022 21:06

@NotSorry @icanbewhatiwant great news well done to both your DCs.

and the threads first 1st as well!

boys3 · 07/07/2022 21:16

@icanbewhatiwant as far as graduation day goes beyond date and time, and that we have tickets, not a great deal wiser. However one of DS2's former school friends who finished last year has his graduation next week so hope to get some insight from his DM afterwards.

juicy0 · 07/07/2022 21:25

Congratulations to your DC @icanbewhatiwant @NotSorry @GoldenRuby
DD received an email this afternoon and is thrilled to have got a first. I'm so proud of her, she had an awful second year due to being bullied by a male housemate and had to move into a new house in year 3 with total strangers. Can't believe it's all over! Fingers crossed all of those still waiting get the results they're hoping for x

NotSorry · 07/07/2022 21:31

Well done to all the DDs and DSs - excellent results everybody! And they all got through it in a pandemic - they all did amazing

NotSorry · 07/07/2022 21:32

@boys3 this might help

GoldenRuby · 07/07/2022 21:33

@juicy0 that is amazing! Well done to your DD.

boys3 · 07/07/2022 21:49

NotSorry · 07/07/2022 21:32

@NotSorry that's great, thanks for the link.

boys3 · 07/07/2022 23:01

have to say after reading the link that @NotSorry kindly posted I'm quite glad DS2 has a 17:30 rather than an 09:30 graduation.

NotSorry · 07/07/2022 23:05

DS2 has a 9.30 graduation 🤦‍♀️

Sluj · 08/07/2022 08:38

DS1 has a 5.30pm and DS2 has a 9.30pm, one week apart! It looks like there will be food stalls and bands playing afterwards but other than that, it's not clear. A friends DS graduated last year and said there was lots of standing around so don't wear new shoes. Given the weather forecast my lot have happily decided on no suits, just formal trousers, shirt and tie.

icanbewhatiwant · 08/07/2022 09:20

Ds's is at 1.30pm. Does anyone know how long the ceremony lasts? I'd better give ds3 a door key as we might not be home when he gets home from school.
