Lovely to hear about more interviews coming through - still waiting to hear from Keele and Manchester here.

UEA interview yesterday - DD wasn't sure how it went - said the interviewers gave very little away in terms of encouragement or even nodding during her answers. Hopefully this is just the way they do it rather than a reaction to what she was saying.

MaddieElla · 03/12/2020 11:41

@SATSmadness the Nottingham one says it will be 4 scenarios, one being role play. Not sure about Keele as DD has the emails but it will focus on the list of 7 (?) things they list as good attributes for a good doctor.

@IsThisNameTaken glad you've got one interview out of the way, I would say they do that to all candidates. I know DD said the same about her Nottingham interview for Mpharm and she got an offer.

Powergower · 03/12/2020 12:20

Maddie so happy for your dd. I think 2 interviews in the same day might work out better. She'll be in full interview mode and it'll be a good use of time. We are still waiting to hear for 3 unis here.

Card1gan- how incredibly frustrating and unethical of Plymouth to change the threshold. I feel for you because each of the 4 choices is so carefully thought out. Fingers crossed your dd secures 3 interviews. Don't lose hope. Ds only has 1 interview so far and he keeps saying 1 is all you need.

UCASmum · 04/12/2020 11:16

Has anybody got interview offers from Birmingham for Medicine 2021

opoponax · 04/12/2020 12:29

Just to update that DS has received Manchester interview invite this morning.

IsThisNameTaken · 04/12/2020 12:45

Manchester interview received here as well this morning Smile

WithIcePlease · 04/12/2020 13:44

Bristol interview booked
That's 2 interviews in January and not expecting any more news before Christmas

LaLaFlottes · 04/12/2020 14:25

@UCASmum I don't think I've seen any Birmingham interviews on here yet.

Great to see more coming through today - congrats to the DC!

MaddieElla · 04/12/2020 15:22

Exciting news for a Friday, well done all!

@LaLaFlottes hope the UEA interview went well.

UCASmum · 04/12/2020 16:33

@LaLaFlottes yes really good to hear about interview invites 👍

Iamsodonewith2020 · 04/12/2020 17:39

Just told daughter that Manchester had started sending out invites and she said “ oh yeah, forget to mention it. It came this morning”!!!’

Card1gan · 04/12/2020 19:15

Manchester interview received here too, yippee!!! Three of DDs firends received rejections last night so she is delighted to get sn interview. Interview is booked for the 16th December, eek!

Well done and good luck to everyone else who secured interviews.

MaddieElla · 04/12/2020 19:22

Well done both!

@Iamsodonewith2020 she would be getting my best resting bitch face Grin But the relief made up for it I bet.

IsThisNameTaken · 04/12/2020 19:22

@Iamsodonewith2020 If only we could all be so laid back!!

Iamsodonewith2020 · 04/12/2020 19:50

Exactly. I feel like I am stressing more than her. She has chosen a February date for interview to spread them out a bit. I assume they don’t give out places till all the interviews are done?? February seems a long way ffbut she has 2 in a week so wanted time for mocks revision in January. well done to all

The waiting is very hard isn’t it!

MaddieElla · 04/12/2020 21:39

Good stuff.

Quite unnerving to know these interviews aren't what we're expecting. Hard to know what to do to prepare.

Fingers crossed for an upcoming offer for her. Smile

Yay - DD has an interview at Nottingham! She is relieved as the rejection from Exeter really shook her.

@UCASmum - DD is also waiting for Birmingham.

mumsneedwine · 05/12/2020 14:34

@FanSpamTastic fantastic news. If I can help please ask. DD is a 3rd year there

opoponax · 05/12/2020 14:37

Congratulations to your DD @FanSpamTastic. I've heard quite a few DC have been rattled by Exteter, especially as their rejections came so early in the process. Good luck with Birmingham. We are just waiting for Newcastle to start their invites now.

FanSpamTastic · 05/12/2020 14:43

@mumsneedwine - any advice gratefully received!

It will be her first one - she has booked for early Jan so she can prepare over the Christmas break.

mumsneedwine · 05/12/2020 15:00

@FanSpamTastic I'd suggest knowing why Notts. They have the unique integrated degree (DD currently writing her dissertation). They start on clinical on March 1st of 3rd year. They have full body dissection (which DD said was so useful for anatomy) and GP and hospital placements from 1st year. Fantastic societies & sport. And it's cheap housing !!
Hard to help with interviews as different this year but if DD is anything to go by Notts like someone who listens & has empathy. DD might be helping with interviews 😊. Good luck !

Powergower · 05/12/2020 16:13

Does anyone have any experience of interviews where the questions are provided in advance. I know Sheffield used to do this. Ds has received some questions for easy station but is worried because he thinks as everyone has the questions the prep will be exemplary for everyone and it will be hard to shine. Any advice for how to stand out with pre prepared answers? I'm sure the assessors will tease out further info from the candidates but i can't decide if providing the questions in advance is a good thing or a bad one! Any advice?
