Just been on TSR, seems Bristol has sent out a few emails with offers and on holds but my DD hasn't heard anything - so stressful! Must stop checking!!

MaddieElla · 05/02/2021 19:02

On hold is a special kind of no man's land isn't it. Confused

mumsneedwine · 05/02/2021 19:06

On hold just means they have looked at your application and it's under consideration. It's a good thing 😊

Ginprincess · 06/02/2021 15:52

I agree that on hold for Bristol is not negative at this stage. This happened to my DD last year and she got 4 offers, some very quickly, Bristol was the last.

opoponax · 06/02/2021 17:52

Another on hold for Bristol here. Seems there have been a few offers and a few rejections and a bunch are on hold and another bunch haven't heard anything. No clue what it all means. What's more concerning is that there is some talk on TSR that only 40% of people interviewed at Bristol this year will go on to get offers.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 06/02/2021 18:38

GinPrincess, thank you. Well done to your daughter. Did she get a good feeling about her interviews or not? My daughter has had interviews for all universities on her UCAS but she is worrying now. Up to this point it has all been easy and she felt very confident eg GCSE’s, UCAT, UCAS etc. It all feels very uncertain all of a sudden

Ginprincess · 06/02/2021 21:34

My DD had a mixed experience with interviews. She felt that Bristol was friendly and it became her first choice, others she felt that she had messed up and yet she still got an offer. It is so tense but if one thing I have learnt is that all you can do is wait and keep fingers crossed.

Hopefulmed · 07/02/2021 10:56

My DD is currently a first year at Cardiff. Last year she ended up with four offers but the waiting after interview was the hardest part. She felt that it was all out of her control. Up to that point she considered that GCSE”s, UCAT, BMAT and even interviews were down to her but the offers were in someone else’s hands. Her Cardiff interview was her first and hardest interview and the one she was convinced she would not get. All you can do is to reassure your DC that they have done their best. To get as far as interview for medicine is an achievement in itself and they are just as likely as others to get offers. It is difficult to wait for offers whilst others start receiving them but they will come. I found keeping my DD positive and going whilst waiting for offers last year was the most difficult thing but we did by focussing on what she had already achieved.

opoponax · 07/02/2021 11:51

@mumsneedwine @Ginprincess @Hopefulmed thank you so much for the support. It really does help. This stage is certainly feeling the worst by far. I had naively thought that it would be out of DS's hands by now and that this would somehow make this part less stressful but the truth is that it has the opposite effect.

opoponax · 07/02/2021 11:55

And hello and welcome to the thread @Emmy583. Wishing your DD the best of luck with Bristol too.

redtulip12 · 11/02/2021 16:36

If anyone has had an interview/invite for Liverpool are you aware that you can apply for accommodation now as it's first come first served apparently! My DD has just done hers but probably should have done it sooner!

SeasonFinale · 11/02/2021 20:46

Cardiff offers have started coming through

WithIcePlease · 12/02/2021 00:32

Lol at MN being quoted on TSR....
No interest here in Cardiff offers but can't see any on TSR thread

Haha that's hilarious. Ds hates using tsr, says it's full of mums masquerading as teenagers. Hope everyone is well, we seem to all have hit a wall and are debugged its half term next week. Let's hope offers start rolling in soon.

SeasonFinale · 12/02/2021 10:13

In that case I'll give Triceratops a little wave

redtulip12 · 12/02/2021 17:39

DD has just received an offer from Bristol. She is extremely happy and it makes the wait to hear from the others seem a bit less stressful!!

SeasonFinale · 12/02/2021 17:59

I was going to mention the B offers but after my mention on TSR I was a bit hesitant!!

MaddieElla · 12/02/2021 18:12

Ahh well done redtulip's DD 🥳

Iamsodonewith2020 · 12/02/2021 18:39

Ah well done to your DD. Still crossing everything here for just one offer.

emummy · 12/02/2021 18:39

Wonderful @redtulip12!

LaLaFlottes · 12/02/2021 19:15

Amazing well done Red Tulip that’s great news!

WithIcePlease · 12/02/2021 19:23

Super @redtulip12 well done!

redtulip12 · 12/02/2021 20:45

Thank you all.
It's such a stressful time for them waiting on the outcomes of their interviews. Not sure if interviews are still going on at any uni's but hopefully they must be nearly finished and we will start seeing several more making some decisions.

GreyBow · 12/02/2021 20:56

Interviews are definitely still happening. My Dd has Leeds next week.

SATSmadness · 12/02/2021 21:18

Lovely news @redtulip12

Do you mind us asking what the offer grades are ?
