Thank you and well done to your DS on UEA. Great to hear of all the offers.

PiggyPokkyFool · 04/03/2020 12:58

Offer from UEA for DD this morning - still AAA so I am pretty sure she will stick with Keele. Well done to all.

speedyhedgehog · 04/03/2020 13:29

Yay lovely to see all these offers. We just need a couple more now!

Hattifatteners · 04/03/2020 14:46

Thank you. Well done @PiggyPokkyFool's DD! I always thought that UEA was DS' absolute favourite. However, yesterday he said that if Leicester makes an offer, he will need to think hard as he is not sure which one of those two to firm.

sluj · 04/03/2020 18:15

Glad to see UEA offers arriving. DS is in year 4 and is riding high on the euphoria of having helped deliver 7 babies last week. Please ask if you have any questions, I'll do my best to help 😀

Monkey2001 · 04/03/2020 18:46

Wow, can't imagine DS delivering babies in 4 years!

Congratulations to UEA offer holders.

DS passed out in class when he saw the child birth video in year 7. We thought this was hilarious as DH is an obstetrician!

242Mummy · 06/03/2020 11:18

DS1 has just got a rejection from Leicester. Not holding out much hope for UEA as he still hasn't heard and offers have been coming since Tuesday. He's probably in the "Reject" pile.

Hattifatteners · 06/03/2020 12:43

I am so sorry to hear your news @242Mummy. Let's still keep fingers crossed for UEA.

Monkey2001 · 06/03/2020 12:56

@242Mummy I was so hoping for good news for your son. If UEA does not work out I so hope that he, like my son, comes out stronger and this time next year feels that it all worked out well. My DS is enjoying working at GP surgery, working for singing diploma, learning to drive, having a bit of a break before the relentless years of medical training. This time last year he felt lost. Xx

HE'S GOT AN OFFER FROM UEA!!!

I've been reading all your stories and I am so delighted for you @242Mummy . Almost made me cry. Well done !!!

sluj · 06/03/2020 17:11

So pleased for you both 242mummy and everyone else with offers everywhere. I remember the anxious track checking so well, 4 years later. DS has three offers but chose UEA because it seemed to be the kind of environment and course he wanted. It is working out beautifully and has never once regretted making it his first choice. I don't want to refer to that "other" medicine thread but he could quite easily have had a stab at Oxbridge but has never regretted following his instincts. Every horse has its course.
Fingers crossed for exam results and that every thing works out for all of your DCs.

PiggyPokkyFool · 06/03/2020 17:19

Yay @242Mummy - I've been checking in regularly to see if you had news. Well done!!!!!

Hattifatteners · 06/03/2020 17:30

Congratulations @242Mummy! Worth keeping one’s fingers crossed! :-)

LaLaFlottes · 06/03/2020 17:47

@242Mummy amazing news congratulations to your DS!
DD will be applying in Oct for 2021 entry so I have been reading this thread and the 2021 thread and have been keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you! Enjoy celebrating a huge achievement.

ladsmum · 06/03/2020 17:59

@242Mummy - Fabulous news. DS really liked UEA (was his insurance last year) - he was very sad that they don't take resitters with less than ABB so couldn't apply again this year. His friend is there doing pharmacy and she is loving it.

speedyhedgehog · 06/03/2020 18:07

Yay 242mummy! So pleased for your ds!

abitoflight · 06/03/2020 18:10

Well done 424Son 🎉🎉

emummy · 06/03/2020 18:18

Hurray 242Mummy! Congrats to your ds

242Mummy · 06/03/2020 18:40

Thank you lovely ladies so much! The relief is indescribable. I was literally sitting, searching through UCAS for biomed spaces left when he shouted down to me.

DS1 liked UEA and said it was the only interview where he felt the interviewers were genuinely interested in him. Everyone has been very positive about UEA so we're immensely grateful.

Was I the last one waiting? Good luck if your DC are still waiting to hear!

Monkey2001 · 06/03/2020 19:02

Oh, that has made my evening after the depressing trawl through the 2021 thread. SO pleased for @242Mummy and her DS. Star Crack open the champagne!!!

Monkey Special thanks to you for your kind words of support. You have been so reassuring and your DS's success with re-applying made a possible worst-case scenario seem very manageable; that even if DS1 had 4 rejections, there is still hope. So thank you for that.

LaLaFlottes · 06/03/2020 19:24

Hello all - in light of the great news for 242’s DS, I have a question about UEA if that’s ok?

Their website seems to say minimum of 3 A levels which is fine, but in one paragraph it says “applicants with 3 A levels will considered”, which sounds like they would rather they had 4!! Any thoughts? Am I reading too much into this?

It sounds like a fabulous University so keen to know if it will fit DD’s profile.

Thank you!
