A Level Results Day

Hi If UCAS does not update first thing before the school opens for result is it a bad sign that the offer has been missed.

coffee the normal teachers won't know the results til tomorrow, same as the pupils. I'm not going in to my school tomorrow so I'll need to wait til my hod emails me at some point tomorrow (probably in the evening sometime). The only people who know at my school are the exams officer, the data manager, the senior management team and the head of sixth form. So that's 7 people out of a staff of nearly 100. No luck trying to guess based on teachers reactions, we're often just as anxious as the students.

I'm stress eating copious amounts of chocolate! Have decided against alcohol though - its going to be an early start and I need to be on top form!

Snap blueballoon, I’ve baked a batch of brownies and seem to have eaten nothing but carbs and chocolate today Feeling sick now with a combination of nerves and the after-effects of eating rubbish.

C4T5 lol! I am now lying here feeling decidedly sick too! I am trying to loose weight at the moment too and was determined I was going to stick to healthy foods this week!

Are you all going to go with your young people to collect the results? DS wants me to go (I have to take him there anyway) but I'm not sure if that's the done thing!

The Edexcel grade boundaries have been leaked a day early (schoolsweek.co.uk/edexcel-grade-boundaries-leaked-ahead-of-a-level-results-day/), so those students who have got hold of them may or may not be panicking more now.

ds is collecting one A level tomorrow (year 12).

It looks like OCR grade boundaries have leaked too.

@Woodenhillmum good luck with your 3 tomorrow. Mine will be logging in to their school portals for their results early in the morning eek!

DD distracted herself by making cookies and later supper for all of us. I'm still downstairs and I don't think she's asleep yet.

Morning everyone. I’ve had about 4 hours shut eye and Dd is still asleep. Not sure whether I need to go into school with her. The original plan was to find out whether she has a place, at home and then drive hereself into school. There are no places in clearing for her course this year. We have no plan b as this is a one A level retake year. Dd was confident earlier but nerves got the better of her last night and she asked me to take her in early.Dd has been working all year and has her own car so we’ve barely seen her. Hence it feels a little strange for me to revert back to the dependency of last year.

good morning, we've been up for hours.

No emails, no tracking and no school until 9. Don’t know what to do with ourselves now.

The results are in and lots of whooping and cheering in our house.

I am sending you all good vibes. All this stuff on the telly about results day is bringing it all back to me.

@Clairetree, my dds’ results were available online at 6:30 am via their school portals.

Mine too. She has what she needs. Daughter is delighted and hugely relieved but won't quite believe it until she sees the offer confirmed on UCAS.
