Hi If UCAS does not update first thing before the school opens for result is it a bad sign that the offer has been missed.
Good luck to everyone awaiting results :)

Congrats bevelino Im just having a cuppa, no one else is awake and school doesn't open until 9. Going to have a shower in a minute due to hardly having any sleep so feel yuck.

Good luck to all.

Etaina · 16/08/2018 07:28

I didn't think I was worried yesterday because she doesn't think she'll make it, but I couldn't get to sleep until the early hours of the morning and woke up at 5am! I thought that some of the people in her chosen uni's group chat would have found out something by now but it seems they're all still waiting. School will email the results at 8am.

Best of luck to you all!

Brilliant news Bevelino

QuitMoaning · 16/08/2018 07:35

Two years ago I was in this situation and it all came crumbling down as he severely missed one grade, and it was the key one.
That morning he spiralled into full stress mode whilst I sat on sidelines unable to help as he wouldn’t respond to me properly. After a few hours he calmed down and we talked through options and he decided to take insurance choice and make it work.
I was disappointed as I had fallen in love with the first choice, Uni and the city and had planned so much but I supported his choice to take insurance offer.
Two years on, he is utterly thriving. On track for a first degree, loving life, embraced uni life and we have fabulous relationship. And it is substantially nearer and I can visit in a day first choice was a 5 hour drive.
Just wanted to say if they don’t get the results then do not worry, it could still be incredible.
I wouldn’t now change what happened.

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 16/08/2018 07:35

Oh congrats fifthtime too I missed that on first read 😁

Etaina · 16/08/2018 07:36

Dd got her first choice! We can't believe it!

Etaina · 16/08/2018 07:37

Ucas track opened early!

Woodenhillmum · 16/08/2018 07:37

Belvino congratulations Smile
Mine had their results last year so all calm here but I remember the emotions well.

BangingOn · 16/08/2018 07:41

Desperately waiting for an update from DSS who is at his mum’s house this morning, he needs AAA and was really worried about his Physics exam.

teta · 16/08/2018 07:45

Yeah
Dd got into vet medicine.

nada2106 · 16/08/2018 07:47

DD didn't get the first choice :( now she is thinking between Comparative literature or Liberal Art. I've never heard about Liberal Art before. Any suggestion, any advice would be greatly appreciated in this household. Thank you.

thefishwhocouldwish · 16/08/2018 07:57

Hooray! No results yet but first choice uni confirmed. Their offer was A*AA but DD doesn't think she did that well. Fingers crossed for those still waiting.

bevelino · 16/08/2018 07:58

My 3 dds have asked me to thank mumsnetters for their congratulations.

@QuitMoaning I am pleased to hear it has all worked out for your ds. You are absolutely right; and if first choice is unavailable there are other options.

BangingOn · 16/08/2018 08:00

He got in! Although now he’s talking about clearing and looking at other options.

McNutty · 16/08/2018 08:02

@Nada this might shed some more light:

What is liberal arts?

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 16/08/2018 08:21

Mine didn't get first choice, she says she expected it so we're going to school in a while, get her actual results and decide is she's going to take her unconditional insurance choice, resit or look at clearing.

I can't say I'm not gutted for her Sad

Fifthtimelucky · 16/08/2018 08:28

Many congratulations to all whose children have what they need and fingers crossed to those who will be looking at options in clearing.

madnskint · 16/08/2018 08:31

Excellent news Teta my DD got into vet med too

teta · 16/08/2018 08:35

Congratulations to your Dd madnskint.
Which one did she get into?

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 16/08/2018 08:42

Well done to everyone so far and hope clearing goes well if needed.

They have all worked so hard and deserve to find a place that's right for their further study.

Ds got 3A*A and happy with that.

madnskint · 16/08/2018 08:42

Surrey her first choice- which did your DD choose?

ErrolTheDragon · 16/08/2018 08:42

Teta - that's great, I remember from the threads last year how hard it was for your DD with the vet med interviews etc - delighted to hear she's in!

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 16/08/2018 08:45

Apologies as maybe not meant to post actual results, but I won't be broadcasting them in real life so quite nice to do so on here anonymously! Blush

McNutty · 16/08/2018 08:57

@IvegotBills I do t think anyone can begrudge you that. Those are bloody great results! It’s a time to celebrate and for those who didn’t get the grades they wanted, support, advise and looking at the options. Smile

beautifulblueballoon · 16/08/2018 09:00

well done to all those successful, and really hopeful vibes to all those dealing with disappointment/clearing etc
DD was a bit disappointed as grades weren't quite what she hoped for - but she got what she needed to get into her first choice so all is good and she is now happy and relieved!
